About this house rental
Nestled in Durango, this charming house for $295 per night is a great option for your next trip. Casa Durango is a charming 3 bedroom 1 bath 1300 sq ft home located on Durango's northwest grid. Our home was originally built in 1896 and was recently updated to include a new kitchen, bathroom, interior paint and furnishings. It still has that vintage feeling but has all the modern amenities. Our home, like most homes in Durango, does not have AC, but the temperature is easily manageable. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensils and the dining table comfortably seats four and does have an additional leaf to seat a few more. The living room has a L-shaped couch, large ottoman, a Samsung 40" tv with DirecTV and high speed WiFi. Two bedrooms have new comfortable queen beds and the third bedroom has a new twin daybed with trundle mattress and all have high quality linens and pillows. The third bedroom also has a large beanbag, 36" Flat screen TV with DirecT & Roku and many shelves containing games and puzzles. The backyard is fenced and there is a new gas BBQ on the deck. During the summer there is a outdoor dining set on the deck which seats six people. Our house is dog friendly. The garden is fairly well fenced but not secure enough to contain a pup who really wants to explore the neighborhood. Walk, hop on one of our cruisers (5 available) or take the Durango Trolly which stops 1 block from the house into the historic downtown district for dinner, shopping, bars or to just wander around. There are so many great outdoor activities in and around the Durango area: Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Rail Road, Mesa Verde National Park, Durango Mountain Resort, Sky Ute Casino, Telluride, Gold Medal fly fishing, Animas River, horse back riding, golf, skiing, Jeep tours, rafting, hunting, kayaking, historic district, shopping, world class mountain and road biking, scenic tours and motorcycle touring. The Animas River is only a three minute walk from the house. If you choose to walk downtown, the swing bridge over the Animas River is only blocks away as is the bike path. Historic downtown Durango is less than a mile from the house and an easy walk. Wake up to the whistle of Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train and we hope you enjoy your stay at our home. The property was wonderful. It is an older home that has been renovated but still kept the old world charm. We had a great stay. The dogs enjoyed the back yard. Hosts were easy to work would. Would stay there again.

This was a perfect rental for our family coming in for thanksgiving with extended family living in town but wanting to have our own space to retreat to.
The beds were comfortable, the shower hot and strong, and the kitchen well stocked for our needs.
Location is great, off street parking with a garage to put our bikes in. The house was warm and cozy without being cramped.
We will book again when we visit Durango next.

The kitchen had everything we needed, there were dog biscuits for our dog, Marla, the bed we used was very comfortable and yard was really nice. Responses to our questions were helpful and quick. We were able to walk and ride our bikes to downtown and grocery stores.

We visited Durango with our daughter, her husband and 7 month old baby. The house was perfect! The yard was lovely for evening visits after the baby went to bed. The neighborhood was quiet and so close to everything. The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed for a wonderful family getaway.

And there is a Weber grill on the back porch - the best option for outdoor grilling. We went to Sunnyside Farms Market one night and picked up some fresh Rainbow Trout and had a great meal using that grill. The back yard with the deck was perfect for relaxing with a good craft beer after a long hike and the dogs totally loved the fenced in back yard. We really enjoyed our stay and will try to stay here the next time we visit Durango.

Durango is a wonderful small town and this property really helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. Great house in Durango!
We come into town to celebrate my husband's birthday with friends. What a fun time! The house was perfect for our family of four and for hosting friends for meals. My kids loved the game room, the plush bean bag and picking apples off the backyard tree every morning for breakfast. Beds were extremely comfortable. Host was especially accomodating with answering my questions! We will be back!

Charming house!!!!!
This is a 10 star house! We stayed 3+ weeks in this charming house in an incredible neighborhood. We have been coming to Durango for several years and have stayed within blocks of this house. When we walked in we immediately felt at home. It was equipped with everything we needed for 3 weeks. It even had nail polish remover!!! Lisa was wonderful and easy to contact and responded immediately. We had dinner on the patio every night. The house was spotless and had all the cleaning products necessary. The bikes were great to ride around the neighborhood and the house is one block from the daily fresh produce/fruit stand, which we walked to everyday to get fresh fruit and corn. The Animas River trail is less than a 5 minute walk across Main and downtown is less than a 10 minute walk. The house was perfect - we didn't want to leave :)... Can't wait to come back and stay here again.

Interesting Times led to a Great Vacation
We truly enjoyed every moment at Casa Durango. We opted to go through with vacation plans amidst many global changes (COVID) and are glad we did. Although many businesses were shutting their doors by mid-week, we able to take advantage of such a special location, enjoying the local trails hiking and snowshoeing, and tubing at Purgatory, which was unfortunately closed because of the concerns on coronavirus spread.
The homeowner was wonderful, and very easy to communicate with. The time was un great condition, located in a quite neighborhood a short drive from downtown. The fenced in backyard is a big plus for those traveling with dogs. We will certainly consider staying again.

The perfect spot
The house was located perfectly! Close to down town, we road the bikes provided instead of having to drive every where! The inside was cozy and just made you feel at home! Being from Texas siting and cooking on the back patio without breaking a sweat was AMAZING! We will 100% becoming back to this house!
