The Acorn House is a lovely cottage and the hosts were exceptional. They were very accommodating and generous, including leaving us a Marin cheese and crackers, homemade banana bread, wine, beer and bottled water. The hot tub was great and the property is private and secluded.

Our stay at Acorn House was a wonderful, relaxing retreat in a beautiful setting with the most welcoming hosts we’ve ever had. The property is beautiful and very private. The cottage is so cozy and comfortable, and there is a lovely view of the 500-year old oak tree from the living room. We enjoyed an evening in the hot tub under the full moon. We had dinners at the Salt and Stone restaurant just down the road, which we highly recommend. Thank you Jerry and Bev for making our stay so special. We’ll be back!

This cottage is all you need to step back and relax. Bev and Jerry have been so thoughtful in making the experience a time to recharge. We enjoyed getting to know them. The giant oaks and beautiful gardens are a setting made to help you unwind.

The property is on 4 acres of immaculately kept property/vineyards/Cottage in Kenwood between Santa Rosa and Sonoma. The hosts treated us like family/best friends. UNPRECEDENTED - We were welcomed with a time of wine and hors d’ouevers to get to know our hosts when we arrived. I am encouraged to “pay forward” their hospitality to all people that God sends our way.

What a great property. Just as advertised. Close to great eating and wineries. We wish we had stayed longer. Bev & Jerry are the perfect hosts. The hot tub was well used and private. The home was stocked with wine, some munchies and drinks. The grounds and inside were in perfect condition. We will be back!!!

It's located in a perfect central location for day trips to everything that wine country, the coast, and northern California has to offer. Bev and Jerry are the most gracious of hosts! This was perfect for our 20th wedding anniversary getaway. We will forever cherish the memories!

The cottage and attention to detail both inside and out is incredible and still amazed at the landscaping around the property. Beverly and Jerry were great hosts and went above and beyond helping us navigate the area, activities etc. Would highly recommend and looking forward to going back in the future.

Delight… that feeling of finding a place that is more beautiful than the pictures, more comfortable than the descriptions, and more hospitable than we could have imagined. From the first day, we began calling the Cottage ‘home’. Our hosts we wonderful, accommodating, and gave great advice and suggestions for restaurants, wineries, and places to see. Acorn House exceeded our expectations. Private, quiet relaxing vacation rental with a ton of charm. Bev and Jerry go above and beyond to insure you enjoy your Sonoma stay. Especially the many little touches like robes and slippers, local cheese and crackers, drinks in the fridge and a bottle of their wine. Hot tub, gardens, vineyards and bird watching outside. Clean, well provisioned and comfortable inside. Close to many great wineries. Would definently return.

Pro's: Beautiful property, great location, cozy,unique decorations. Con's: This place was not as private as we were anticipating. Bev and Jerry live steps away, and are very involved in your stay. For some this is a fabulous thing, for us we would have enjoyed more privacy. I booked this cottage to celebrate my mom on her birthday. When we arrived there was a miscommunication and the way Bev addressed the issue made us very uncomfortable which set a bad tone for the remainder of our stay. This was really disappointing given the other reviews stating how welcoming and hospitable the hosts were, unfortunately this was not our experience.

From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the property. Check-in instructions were perfect. The acorn house was cozy and well appointed. We were welcomed by a bottle of wine and fresh baked banana bread. There were plenty of books and movies to enjoy and a comfortable bed to sleep in. Bev and Jerry recommended the Jack London state park and it was amazing and so peaceful. We could not recommend staying here anymore. Can't wait for our next stay here.

Bev and Jerry are the best hosts ever and the property is charming, private and immaculate. We were so comfortable and Bev provided so much information that enhanced our stay. We already plan to stay again.

The Acorn Cottage is perfect for a couples getaway in wine country. Bev and Jerry are incredibly gracious hosts and were very easy to work with during and after booking. The property is amazing and the views with the 500 year old Oak are stunning. We will be back!

The space is lovely. It suits a couple perfectly and offers all the basics needed for a comfortable stay. A small kitchen, efficient closet space, a full bath featuring a large tub with jets and a separate standup shower, hot tub, deck, fire pit and grill, hundreds of books, DVDs and CDs (if you are seeking couch-time entertainment), and so on. Where it really counts is in the "you have to see it to really appreciate it" features. First, the hosts are as kind and warm as anyone we have ever come across. Authentically interested in getting to know new people and caring about their guests beyond expectations. Then there is the view from the large windows at the 500-year old oak tree that towers over the property, lit up by a morning sun. The peaceful quiet. The distance from any possibility of being disturbed - no road noise, no neighbors within earshot. even the wild life seems to value the silence. The location is within 40 minutes of all of the little towns and all of the wineries, although the roads to get to the Napa side can be twisty. (One late evening we took the long way home to avoid the mountain pass.) All in all, an amazing stay!

Very enjoyable place to stay. Dark skies, quiet solitude and relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We would stay again!

Wow just wow!!! This property is just magnificent and we were there in the middle of winter! I'm so excited to come back in the spring and see all the flowers too!!

We had an amazing time at the Acorn Cottage. Everything was very clean. The decoration is super cute, and the place is equipped with everything you may need for a comfortable stay. Bev and Jerry made us feel very welcome, and also offered us some very nice treats from delicious banana bread to great wine. We are already planning on going back!

I can find no reason to break the string of 5 star ratting for Acorn house. The location, the grounds, the hosts, the house, the amenities all sum up to yet another 5 star rating from us.

I can’t say enough about the wonderful stay we had at Bev and Jerry’s place. The cottage was just as described and our hosts went above and beyond to make out stay memorable. A+ on every level!

Everything about this cottage is perfect. The location in Sonoma county is right in the heart of wine country but close enough for a day trip to the coast. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the property is spectacular. Being right in a vineyard is the perfect way to relax. The hosts are super friendly and provided lots of unexpected personal touches to this trip. We definitely hope to return.

We stayed at Bev and Jerry’s adorable cottage the weekend of our 50th wedding anniversary. The listing on VRBO intrigued me from the beginning. The pictures looked charming and as it turned out, that’s exactly the way it was. It was also in a great location. There is everything one needs in a kitchen, plus a lovely back patio with a grill and fire pit. We didn’t have time to enjoy the hot tub but it’s so nice to know there is one available. The cottage has everything needed for a comfortable relaxing vacation. We felt so “at home” there and to make it even more special there was a loaf of delicious banana bread left for us, coffee or tea and some small snacks. Due to our flight being delayed, we arrived quite late and weren’t able to purchase anything for breakfast the next morning so that special touch really helped us start the day. I can’t say enough about Bev and Jerry’s hospitality. They were very helpful with our late arrival, and left the lights on all around so we could find the cottage in the dark, and it is very dark there at night. They had some great suggestions for wineries and places to eat. One evening we were able to share a bottle of wine with them…..from their vineyard. The wine was delicious, definitely one of our favorites now, and the evening was so enjoyable visiting with them and sharing stories of grandchildren and experiences. I made the mistake of scheduling us for too many tastings. We will be back, only we will spend more time at the cottage relaxing and just enjoying the grounds. We can’t say enough about this charming little piece of heaven and Bev and Jerry. It all really made our celebration memorable.

A quiet, private little cottage set among lovely gardens and vineyards. The hosts were friendly and very helpful with information about surrounding attractions. We were invited to join them for wine one night. Our every possible need had been anticipated. We definitely want to go back for another visit.
