Luxurious but rustic describes this 4800 square foot log mountain cabin retreat located in the foothills in a gorgeous valley of its own, allowing both urban & mountain lifestyles. Wildlife is abundant on the 6-acre retreat. Gated Private Entrance for privacy and security. This Log home is cozy and homey and is great for entertaining. The home is beautifully decorated with historical artifacts from the famous family of the Buckhorn Exchange oldest restaurant in CO. You will feel right at home. Huge deck off living /dining room opens to great front yard where you can watch or enjoy a game of volleyball, bocce or a cowboy/girl chipping green, horseshoes, and frisbee golf course on land. Great home for a family reunion, receptions, business retreat ect. at the log home. Have your wedding party stay here because we are within minutes of 6 large wedding venues including; The Pines and Genesee, Mount Vernon Canyon Club, Boettcher Mansion, Crystal Rose, Christies of Genesee, Chief Hosa, Foothills Church, . Consider having a smaller wedding? We have the perfect Wedding Venue. We have the perfect place for smaller weddings up to 80 guests. We are legally zoned to have events here. Micro Weddings are in and a lot cheaper! We have a beautiful metal lighted wedding Gazebo , wine barrels to decorate, gas fire pit in front of beautiful draping tree and plenty of outdoor areas to say your nuptials. We have tables and chairs up to 80 included. We also have 5 12 by 12 canopies for shade. There is also a 1200 sf loft in the Barn that has been restored into an Event center. It is also filled with historical artifacts of the wild west. This is ideal for up to 4o people. It is ideal for poker parties, bachelor party, company meetings, small receptions. It has tables and chairs for 40 people and can be rented in addition to cabin at a nightly rate. The home is in the perfect location because you are so close to the city( 10 min) and yet you are in the Mountains. You are not so deep in the mountains where it takes a long time to get places and you are not right in city so it is truly the best of both worlds. This is an historic area. This was Buffalo Bills and the Indians old stomping grounds. It is a 5-minute drive to his burial site and Museum. From the deck you can view the famous Spaceship house where they filmed the move Sleeper and Charlies Angels. This home is very close to the Famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. This is the perfect home to stay and go see a concert because it’s only a short 10-minute drive to see world famous Artist perform at this world renown venue. You can even take a Uber. Great house with lots of room. Good location close to Denver and one hour drive to skiing. Host was quick to respond to our questions. Would rent again.

This house was decorated beautifully for Christmas, tree included! The ambience gave us all such a cozy and magical experience. There was plenty to do at the house to keep us entertained on the more snowy days. The windy road down to the house should be used with caution during the snowy/icey months, as not all parts of it has guard rails/barriers. Overall, a beautiful time was spent there, and we would definitely stay again.

Our group had an enjoyable stay. It is a quick drive off of I-70 and easy to find. There is plenty of space for people spread out (when desired), and lunch on the deck (with one's choice of sun or shade) was a highlight. We chose to avail ourselves of some lovely hiking trails a short drive away. The orientation by the owner upon arrival was very helpful, as well.

We rented this place for our October wedding and it was beautiful! Darcy was a wonderful host and even went beyond to help our vendors set up when we had a scheduling issue. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. My Husband and I stayed there along with some of our family and our wedding party. We had more than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. This is the perfect place for a mid-sized wedding!

We chose this place to host our wedding ceremony and reception as well as to lodge our out of town guests. 1000% recommend! The property was perfect for our ~40 guests and barn was super cozy for the reception! All of our guests love convenient location off of i-70.

We had a wedding with 80 people here and the venue itself gets 5 stars. Exactly as pictured, with lots of space indoors for family. If you are considering having an event here, ensure that you read the fine print as there is a fee per person for the event as well as for the porta potties.
The tables, chairs, and tents that are included are a definite plus. A very cool property for weddings.

First time in the area so we rented a large home to accommodate the kids flying in (with 2 little grands as well) from different parts of the country. The house was a great size for us all. Had fun just sitting on the large porch playing cards all night. Coming equipped with the little things (like shampoo! - large bottles!) is great so you don't feel like you have to bring or buy everything. Great location - we went into Golden, Estes Park, some kids did gliding, skydiving, Coors tasting, golf and more. Was a great and relaxing week and we enjoyed everythign. Darcy provided lots of info as to activities and ideas as well. She even helped us when the neighbors dog visited :) She was very responsive to our text messages. Great experience all round.

This is a beautiful home full of antiques and memorabilia from the late 1800’s. Wonderful décor throughout. We had 16 people ranging from 11 to 72 and there was plenty of room for everyone, both inside and out on the lovely deck. We would definitely book it again.

The house was perfect for our families stay in Golden. We were there to celebrate a graduation at Mines. We had 12 people and we all were comfortable sleeping, cooking and hanging out! Thank you for sharing such a neat home!

We held out wedding here and could not have asked for a better experience. We expected a warm spring wedding and ended with 6inches of snow and the barn provided us with the options to be indoor and outdoor. We had just over 40 people and this space was the perfect size.
The house was extremely spacious for the 12 of us with enough living space that we could all be together and enough space to be apart. Being able to stay at the same venue where we had the wedding made the whole event low stress as we could set up the days leading up to it and has time to clean up the day after.
Darcy is also awesome to work with!! We would 100% come back to this place even without a wedding!

I rented this property for my son's wedding and it was absolutely spectacular. The venue itself is beautiful and perfect for a gathering of family and friends. The house has plenty of room and the decor is amazing. The barn was perfect for the reception and there are so many beautiful spots for pictures... not to mention the fun we had sledding down the snow covered hills. I couldn't have picked a more perfect place to make such special memories. Darcy was very accommodating, helpful, responsive, and we so appreciate everything! You cannot go wrong with this property and we will be back!

The cabin was pretty awesome! It has all of the items that you would need to enjoy a getaway with friends and family. It's also right down the interstate from a shopping center where you can grab any items missing. It's a short hop to downtown Denver, and the slopes are less than an hour away, which is perfect for anyone looking to ski or snowboard, but doesn't want to sleep at high elevation! The only thing to note is there is a black and white dog that will visit every so often, so if you love dogs, it's a nice hidden perk. If someone in your group is scared though, just communicate with the host!

Overall, the property is great as expected. Massive property with a big house to fit lots of people. Fully stocked kitchen with a lot of extra supplies available such as spices and small kitchen appliances. A couple things that were not so good: host determined check in time and were very pushy even though we traveled through a snow storm. Central heating was set to 68°F in a locked box while it was 22°F outside - the only way to heat the house above 68°F was with stationary heaters. Even though the property is “dog friendly”, the host expected us to put the dogs into the garage when leaving them home alone. Which lead us to taking the dogs everywhere with us the whole time. Additionally, dogs were restricted to where they could go in the house and weren’t allowed on furniture.

First off - WOW! The house if fully stocked - Kitchen/Blankets/Pillows/Comfy beds/waters/garbage bags/laundry! This is something that is sooo important for taking care of my family. Beautiful setting - snowed while we were there - incredible views. Darcy is so great! Love it and will plan another family time in 2023.

The house looks exactly as pictured on VRBO. It is very spacious with at least 3 sitting areas. Kitchen and bathrooms all very clean. Lots of antiques here which were a bit dusty. Sun pours in from the back and air conditioning has a hard time keeping up. Lots of outdoor space for eating on the deck or gathering around the fire pit. at night.

The beautiful property was a wonderful location and size for the wedding party to gather for a weekend of celebration - lots of space to enjoy inside and outside, abundant sleeping arraingments, and plenty of parking. Hosting the rehearsal dinner in this lovely setting for an extra fee was so convenient. A secluded setting allowed for fun festivities until 11pm quiet hours. The many historic artifacts displayed throughout the house add to the unique and interesting appeal of the property and care should be taken to avoid damage or loss of items. The memories of time spent together celebrating the obvious love shared by this couple is priceless.

Darcy’s place has so much to offer! Multiple living room/hang out places, outdoor activities, and a ton of privacy in a great location. I highly recommend booking from Darcy over any other properties in the area.

We stayed at the ranch for 4 nights and had an amazing time! We had a group of 10 staying at the property and had plenty of space for everyone. In addition to staying, we also hosted our wedding welcome party and had 100 people visit. It was absolutely perfect and had plenty of room and equipment (tables, chairs, tents, coolers, etc) for guests, food and drinks. It was 5 minutes from our venue, mount Vernon canyon club, and was so convenient for the wedding. Darcy was amazing to work with and had fantastic communication. Would highly suggest staying here and can’t wait for our next visit!

Wonderful wedding venue property !
My husband and I held our small wedding at this property this past summer (July 2021). We stayed 2 days and also rented the barn loft for our reception. It was an ideal location for what we needed. The house is huge and well equipped. We were able to comfortably sleep 14 friends and family The common spaces were comfortable and made us feel right at home. We also really enjoyed the large deck. There is no a/c but there were lots of fans/air movers provided on each level of the house and a portable a/c unit in the master suite.
I particularly appreciated that there were 2 masters. The master suite is gorgeous and was perfect for both pictures and getting ready with my bridesmaids. My husband and his groomsmen used the 2nd master. It made things really easy for our photographer as well.
We held our ceremony outdoors. The entire property is well kept and had a great variety of spaces to have photos taken. We took family photos in front of the huge tree which came out amazing.
The barn loft space we used for the reception was perfect for our needs. Darcy has the works! She provided tables and chairs which saved me the hassle of renting them somewhere else. There were coolers and bbq grills for us to use as well. She was also kind enough to give me access the day before for set up. We had plenty of space for everything including a small dance floor. It was a little hot and stuffy midday but we knew that would be the case and it improved with the evening cool down.
Overall this place is a gem and I highly recommend. We would love to stay again in the future.
