Nestled in New York, this lovely lodge for $295 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Western New York, our house is a nature-lover's paradise. Our cozy lakefront getaway features rustic barn wood walls, brick flooring, pine cabinets, and large windows to catch the breezes, and although it looks rustic, it has all the modern conveniences. View the sun rising and setting over the lake; catch a glimpse of the deer running along the tree line; fish from the lake shore; walk through the fields. Relax and de-stress in the quiet country air. Gaze at millions of stars at night. We are a beautiful lakefront and riverfront drive away from Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Rochester. Located on the Niagara Wine Trail and down the road from Donovan Estate Orchards ( formerly Blackbird Cider), minutes to Olcott's Eighteen Mile Creek and Point Breeze's Oak Orchard Creek fishing areas, our house is a great spot to relax after a day of touring the sites. Pets with prior owner approval only. No smoking.

Comfortable beds, clean cottage on lake, wonderful host made this a pleasant stay. July 4th fireworks in nearby town were the best we've seen outside of Disney! Niagara Falls is about 40 minutes away (American side.) This is truly a getaway - rural setting w/grocery store 20 minutes away. Canoe & kayaks available, but we mostly rested, read, played games, made s'mores, and enjoyed family movie night. Thank you, Susan!

This location was wonderful and Susan was a great host. The kayaks and canoe were so much fun to have. The fishing was terrible but who cared with such a lovely location. The beds were comfortable and plenty of towels for our group of 7. Except for sleeping, we spent all of our time outside.

This was an excellent rental. We were there on a fishing trip. (although no fish were harmed during our stay). Susan is a kind and generous host. Beds were very comfortable, Kitchen well stocked with pans, dishes and glassware. The place had a "make yourself at home" feel to it which greatly enhanced our stay. We ate out on the deck overlooking the water...fabulous. We grilled on the front patio and it was perfect. The host lives on the property and was always available. We needed an extra frying pan and she lent us one of her own. The view from the deck is spectacular. Many hundreds of feet of lakefront with nothing obstructing your view. Suggestion: if you rent this property bring a telescope or binoculars. Many ocean-going vessels on the horizon...fun to watch. Without a doubt one of our best rentals.

Susan is a warm, welcoming host. Upon walking through the door, the first thing I saw was delicious cinnamon rolls on the dining room table with a note including her phone number in case we had questions. The house is also very welcoming with a relaxed, homey atmosphere. The bedrooms are very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms are clean and the water pressure is awesome. The dining room and living room are both wonderful places to gather. There are little nooks to relax and unwind. The descriptions and photos don't show how wonderful this house really is. The decks and yard draw you to the lake, where the the sun both sets and rises over the water. There was so much we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy because we didn't have time. We plan to return soon! There is a continuing "treasure hunt" described in the guest book that had everyone participating. Our family enjoyed it so much we added to it. Our only disappointments were that we didn't have the opportunity to meet Susan's dog, and we had to go home. No one wanted to leave!

I booked this with 4 friends for a girls weekend. It was perfect! The house is roomy and comfortable, and there are several wineries/breweries/cideries nearby. Olcott is a cute little town with some good eateries! The property owner was very accessable without being intrusive We plan to be back!

It was so peaceful there. Susan is the best host - a perfect blend of attentiveness and letting us do our thing. There were plenty of activities to keep two 10 year old boys entertained. We took day trips to Niagara Falls, Lockport, Buffalo, and even a drive through safari! And nothing beats the sunsets - absolutely beautiful. We didn't want to leave! Can't wait to go back!!!

Relaxing in heaven
Words cannot express how wonderful this place is. Relaxing while watching the waves on the water, the birds and ducks is great. The size of house lends itself to small groups- ours was a family get together- couple from Georgia , couple from Virginia and third from Pennsylvania. Susan was great and very personable, and I would highly recommend this place.

Fabulous
The location and view of the lake were fabulous. The owner went above and beyond with her hospitality. Anything we we needed was tended to quickly and response time was less than a half hour. We will be back in better weather and we all would do over again in any season. Words can not express how happy we all were with our stay.

Girls' Weekend
Our group of six family members on a "girls getaway weekend" had a wonderful time at Susan's place! The house tends more toward cozy and comfortable than elegant, which was perfect for our group and our plans. We made great use of the deck overlooking the lake for morning coffee and evening sunset-watching, played games sitting around the large kitchen table, and gathered in the living room for jigsaw puzzles and conversation.
With five bedrooms, we were able to spread out for privacy at night, though my daughter and I together did score the large upstairs bedroom with the king-sized bed and its own private deck that also overlooked the lake!
As others have mentioned, Susan was an excellent hostess, very available and friendly without being intrusive. And lovable, super-friendly Beau was the highlight of our trip, converting even the non-dog lovers in our group. If we hadn't already been thinking of returning, the prospect of seeing Beau again would have done the trick!

The location feels very remote, halfway between Buffalo and Rochester (we spent a day in each and it took just over an hour's drive), but it was easy to run to the store or grab food locally (PWT was good!) and there was plenty to do around nearby Lockport as well - most of the action on the lake was done for the season after Labor Day.
The house is spacious and comfortable - sort of rustic but with everything you need. There are basically two separate bedroom/bathroom areas (one upstairs, one downstairs) which was completely ideal for our two-family stay. The kitchen has all the essentials. Water pressure in the showers is AMAZING. Wi-fi is available and speedy but the connection was inconsistent - totally fine for us on vacation but I probably wouldn't have been able to work effectively from the house if I'd had to. Most important, the lake views are awesome!
Outside is beautiful and fun to explore a bit. Tons of lakefront but the access is a little tricky; the boat ramp is broken and slippery down at the bottom and everywhere else you have to climb carefully down over the wall and boulders. That said, we all did it just fine (including our 3, 4, and 7yo kids) and had fun swimming and using the kayaks. Aside from the lake there is a huge lawn plus woods/fields to explore. There's a swingset and a basketball court which the kids had fun on.
Susan's house is right next door, but aside from that there is tons of privacy, and she hit the perfect balance of being friendly/helpful/available while still giving us plenty of space. She was a great host! Our dog Lucy loved playing with Beau, her adorable golden retriever.
We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!
