Kick back and take in the incredible beach and Gulf views from your furnished balcony at this comfortable, family-friendly condo on the Panhandle. Slip on your provided pool bands and head downstairs for a swim in the shared, heated pool, work up a sweat in the fitness room, fire up one of the shared grills and enjoy a cookout, or take a stroll out to the adjacent beach. You'll find something for everyone here at Sterling Sands! Located alongside the Emerald Coast Parkway, this vacation rental is within walking distance of several popular restaurants including the Back Porch and the Pancakery. For groceries and essentials, you'll find a Target and a Walmart Supercenter, both about a mile from this condo. And if you're looking for some fun beyond the beach, head over to Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park, the largest water park on the Emerald Coast, just a little over a half-mile up the road. Things to Know Elevator in the building. Beach service is not included. A beach service vendor sits on the beach, and guests that wish to rent from the vendor must go out to the hut and pay them. A resort fee (for amenity wristbands and parking passes) of $15 plus tax per person (5 years old and up) must be paid during mandatory pre-registering online. Website provided in confirmation email. This unit has a max occupancy, including children. These are rules set by the State of Florida and the State of Florida Fire Codes. The Fire Codes go by square footage and not the beds in a unit. If you arrive with more than the max occupancy listed, the HOA will not allow you to check-in and you will not be entitled to a refund. Parking notes: There is parking available for a fee and charges will apply for 2 vehicles. This rental is located on floor 8. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

We were looking for a nice, roomy, clean and quiet place to relax. This fit all our requirements. Perfect for what we had in mind.

Upon checking in the kitchen counter was full of hair, ants and the countertops are coming up, the dry mat wasn’t cleaned and had a horrible smell
to it, the dishwasher doesn’t stay closed unless it’s latched, the cabinets need an overhaul, bathroom in master ; cabinet is broken, mold around the door in the master bathroom. The views are stunning and the location is perfect, and enjoyed the amenities there. The unit could be much better with some renovations.

The apartment was clean. The kitchen was stocked, but would have been nice with touches like coffee filters, salt/pepper, etc. Upon arrival I found out we could not use the balcony. Great view, but hoped for this. This should have been made clear in the information.

We loved the view from the 8th floor ! The condo was pretty well equipped too. BUT - the curtain in the mater bedroom was a sheer, plastic shower curtain hot glued to the curtain rod!!! I reported it and the answer was - yeah, we need to fix that!! The blinds in the 2nd bedroom were broken.. There was a piece broken out of the vanity in the master bath, the shards of wood laying on the floor. The pots and pans were dirty and had to be scrubbed before using. The outside patio furniture was very dirty and turned a towel blacker after being wiped down after it rained. The condo wasn’t filthy but could have been cleaner. My white socks were black after walking in my stocking feet. Would we stay there again,? Yes, probably I hopes there get these issues fixed.

The view is great from this condo!! Parking was close (no hike to a parking deck). Close to restaurants & attractions. Nice whiskey bar in liquor store across the street. Bed in master is ok. Small tvs but good stocked kitchen. Overall worth the money. Would definitely stay again.

Great proximity to beach, shopping, restaurants and activities. The Back Porch Restaurant is within a short walk. Nice pool. Negative is that the bedrooms are on the street side (Route 98) of the condo (instead of the water side) leading to alot of traffic noise.

We loved the view and the being able to enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the balcony. This room had everything we needed for our stay.

The condo was a little dated and mostly clean. The resort was good Jung there was a lot of traffic at night. We heard sirens just about every night.

Beautiful View, Beautiful Beach
This condo was easily assessable, no problems getting into and out of the complex from historic highway 98. The unit was located on the top floor so we got a great view of the gulf and the beach. We were high enough to see all the critters passing by, countless dolphins, sharks, rays, pelicans, and even a manatee, but no so far where we couldn't hear the crashing waves. Beach and unit access was super easy with keypad access so I didn't have to carry keys or keycard around. There was a beach equipment rental company right up front on the beach, so there was no need to drag any umbrellas or chairs around.
The unit was clean and they provided a starter set of paper products and cleaning supplies: dish soap, dish washing soap, laundry soap, bathroom bar soap, shampoo, conditioner. They also had a variety of bath towels but note there were no beach towels.
Ultimately I would not recommend this unit just so that it would be available for us because if I stay in Destin again, I am definitely booking this unit again. We are just greedy that way :)

Biggest issue was you could tell the condo was not cleaned properly BUT I am a little harder to please with cleanliness effort AND to be fair they contacted me to follow up after check in and I don't reply to any property mgmt or vrbo unless there's a major problem. Had I paid higher summer rates, this would be a different review. Would I reserve again in the off-season for the experience we had this time? Absolutely.

Destin is gorgeous and the view from Sterling Sands unit #803 was spectacular! My main issue is with the unit and Vacasa in particular. Unit 803 needs ALOT of updating. We don’t mind older things as we live in an older home. The cosmetic things were not an issue to start with. The main issue was the slats for the bunk bed in the spare room fell on my daughter while she slept. This was wildly unsafe for both of my children as my other daughter was on the top bunk. Thankfully neither was hurt. However, because of this all the little things started to be irritating and all I could think is how much I paid to stay here. Such as, the tub leaking and not draining in the hall bathroom, the pool passes and parking pass not being in the unit as they were supposed to be, there being no pot holders in the kitchen, the fridge not closing, a pot having a hole in it. I could go on and on. I sent an email to the property manager about the tub and the bed. They were both fixed. The scary thing is that maintenance said the bed slats were never screwed in to begin with. Thankfully my teenagers aren’t large people or this would have been far worse. When I called Vacasa about some type of refund for the room and all of the problems, we got the equivalent of a nice meal in Destin. If you have ever stayed in Destin, you know that is no where close to what we paid. I in no way wanted a full refund, but what they gave was insulting. I will say that everyone I spoke to or emailed about the room and the issues were very kind and helpful. My family and I will visit Destin again but will definitely not stay at the Sterling Sands or use Vacasa ever again.
