About this cabin rental

Nestled into the mountainside on just over one acre, Fawn Ridge is a perfect spot for a weekend or extended get-away. Our intimate 440 square foot cabin has the comforts of a home on a smaller scale. The separate bedroom with a queen bed and living room twin sofa-sleeper make it a cozy retreat for up to three guests. The sofa shares the living room with a wood-burning fireplace, perfect for cold winter nights. You can retreat to the bedroom to watch TV in bed. Our miniature kitchen is fully loaded – a gas stove, microwave and fridge make it easy to shop and cook meals in. Step outside and throw some meat on the grill and enjoy the mountain view while eating on the wrap-around deck. Our mini dishwasher makes clean-up a snap! Whether you want to ease into the day or wind down at the end of the night, the hot tub is a great place to relax and enjoy the mountains around you. You are likely to see wildlife while you take in the views – elk, deer and even wild horses have visited our cabin. The stars light up the sky and full-moon nights are spectacular. Take a small hike behind the cabin and arrive at our private gazebo with a view of Capitan. Sit and enjoy morning coffee or have a picnic while taking in the amazing view. When you are ready to get out and about, you are less than five miles from midtown Ruidoso. There are tons of local shops and restaurants you can visit as you stroll through town. If you’d like a little more adventure, try your luck at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Casino. If you prefer an adrenaline rush, you can’t miss the 8,900 ft. zip line at Ski Apache! It is one of the longest in the world and has parallel cables so you and your guest can conquer it at the same time. Or rent an ATV in midtown and follow the GPS trail on a 4-hour tour that takes you up into the mountains and down into canyons with beautiful rock formations. Of course you can’t miss Ski Apache in the winter with a stunning 12,000 ft. elevation and 1,900 ft. vertical drop. From beginner to expert, there are trails for everyone on 750 skiable acres. If you prefer to experience the great outdoors at a slower mph, you can golf, fish, hike, mountain bike, geocache, or play disc golf. Love to day trip? Visit the iris garden at Hondo Iris Farm during the summer months or pan for gold at Fox Cave. Just past Alamogordo is White Sands Monument – 275 square miles of gypsum sand dunes that look like sugar spilled in the middle of the desert. It’s an amazing site to see. On the way back, stop at PistachioLand where you can shop and take a picture next to a giant pistachio! You can visit Roswell and see all of the famed UFO exhibits in town and then head to Carlsbad. Although the caverns are a 2.5 hour trip from Ruidoso, they are a stunning natural wonder that shouldn’t be missed. You can plan your trip around an event or festival – Ruidoso has them all year! Check out the show schedule at the Spencer Theatre for the Performing Arts. If you love Broadway shows or dance and musical performances, they have events every 11 days during the summer and winter show season. We can’t wait to have you visit Ruidoso and stay at Fawn Ridge!

My husband and i loved being here. It was perfect for the two of us. Loved the view and it was close to both lakes. Alto and Grindstone as well. Hot tub worked great, and the gazebo was a short hike however the view was worth it. It had everything we needed for our stay. We loved it and it was perfect!

We were excited to get up into the mountains! It was beautiful. We walked up to the overlook the first evening we got there which ended up being good because then next morning we woke up to 4” of snow. It’s a pretty small cabin but just what we wanted. We stayed warm and enjoyed the fire place and the hot tub. It snowed on us while we were out in the hot tub which was pretty fun but a little chilly walking back inside with snow covered towels! It was quiet and private. We didn’t use the kitchen much but it seemed well stocked. Nothing too fancy but very comfortable. We could have use a snow shovel but other than that it was great.

Peaceful, Quiet, Clean, and over all Cozy. A perfect little cabin for couples to getaway and be one with nature. The Hike up to the patio was a little steep but the beautiful view was well worth the journey. Hot tub was amazing, the deer were lovely, made a friend with the neighbors friendly cat. All n' All just what we needed. 10 out of 10 would Definitely recommend.
