This was the ideal place for us to spend our long Labor Day weekend visiting Marblehead and Salem! Francie was beyond welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was cozy and clean and the extra special touches made us really feel at home. We had 3 adults and it fit us perfectly. The location was top notch with the ocean right at the end of the street. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Our month has been incredible thanks to Francie & Bob and the perfect accommodations here at 36 Chestnut Street…a comfortable, welcoming, cozy, charming cottage so well located for walks to town and beautiful water views. We loved our warm welcome of a lovely basket of treats and everything so thoughtfully provided for our comfort throughout our month long stay. Francie & Bob have been perfect hosts, so enjoyable to meet and have chats. We have made many fun memories in beautiful Marblehead and surrounding areas. You will love staying here too! Jan & Bill

Hostess was amazing!! Her attention to detail, hospitality, communication, recommendations are topnotch. We stayed for our wedding week, and it truly felt like “home.” Marblehead is a dream, and we will definitely return for future anniversaries! 100% the best place we’ve ever stayed!

This cottage is elegant, well thought out, and very comfortable. The hosts are very helpful and communication is top notch. Extremely happy we found this gem to stay at for three short nights. Would jump at the chance to stay here when we are in Massachusetts again!

Very nice host, lots of small attentions, we even got a small tray with food (cheese, crackers, fruits) when we arrived! The apartment is in a small house, behind their house and we can take advantage of their beautiful garden (we had our own space with table and chairs). Good location in a quiet street at about 15 minutes walk from the historic district or the Devereux beach. Would recommend without hesitation.

The Chestnut Sweet in Marblehead is a jewel. Everything with our stay was better than expected. Looking forward to coming back!

We can’t say enough about our 5* experience at Sweet Cottage. Perfect getaway in central Marblehead that is walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, groceries, and the historic district. The cottage has two living rooms that make it possible to be in separate rooms for TV or reading. Lovely bedroom is upstairs and has a half bath and good size closet. Full bath is downstairs. Beautiful bath towels and beach towels are in full supply. Lots of throws to stay warm. Fireplace in the TV room warms up that area nicely. The kitchenette is fully stocked with a convection oven/toaster, microwave, Keurig with pods, and small fridge. There’s AC, too. The cottage has a beautiful garden in front. We were a bit too early for the peonies and hydrangeas. Check out Shubie’s market, Java Sun for coffee, and take a short drive to Devereux Beach. Salem is a short drive away. Francie is a welcoming and attentive hostess. She had a tray of snacks out for us and responds right away to text messages. Delightful person. Thank you Francie. We hope to be back.

This vacation rental was perfect! The pictures that you see on-line depict the property exactly as you will find it, but even better. The space is used well and we found every room to be extremely comfortable and well appointed. Did I mention how clean, fresh and new everything was? It is clear that great care is taken with maintaining this property so that guests will be comfortable. Francie, the host, was extremely attentive to our questions before we even booked the property and once we arrived she made sure to address all of our needs. She is delightful to talk, yet she will never be in your way. The parking is on the street, but this was never an issue, nor could I see how it ever would be. You can pull into the driveway to load and unload your gear, and then park right in front of Francie's house on the street. (The rental is a separate building behind Francie's house). We like to walk and found that we could easily walk to restaurants, grocery stores, parks, historical sites and the beach. Her property is also a short drive to Salem. If you are considering a visit to Marblehead please look no further than this property. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. I would like to sincerely thank Francie and Bob for everything, and we hope to return for another stay!

My husband and I have stayed in numerous excellent rental properties both in the USA and Europe and we were thoroughly impressed with this townhome. Francie and Bob were exceptional hosts who made us feel at home at our arrival and throughout our stay. The property is immaculate, comfortable, and meticulously decorated. It’s truly a Marblehead paradise.

The cottage was lovely and just what we needed. The owners were very kind and welcoming. There are lots of good restaurants, etc. just around the corner. We came home relaxed and feeling as though we got great value for the price and would recommend staying at "Sweet" to anyone headed up to the Salem/Marblehead area.

It fulfilled all our needs, cleanliness, location and lovely surroundings. Francie and Bob are the perfect hosts. They go above and beyond in taking a personal interest in all their guests. Looking forward to a return visit!

The Sweet was so perfect for our family over thanksgiving weekend. Francie was perfectly accommodating and communicative. The sweet was immaculately clean, and so cozy in cold weather. It was our best short term rental experience we’ve had. We’ve recommended her place to family and hope to be back one day!

It was amazing! Such a cute and beautifully decorated carriage house/garage apartment. The owners were so sweet! They left several personal touches. Like cheese, milk, orange juice in the fridge for us. Some fresh fruit, and cute little gift boxes for each of us with some chocolates inside, and a personal handwritten welcome note. They had a handy binder of instructions for the TV, Wi-Fi, washing machine etc. The travel size toiletries they had were really good quality. Francie was very helpful in getting us settled in and gave us her cell number incase we needed anything or had any questions.

This garage-attached cottage in Marblehead was so cute and comfortable. I stayed with two friends and we had plenty of space. The place was spotlessly clean. Parking is on street but we were able to pull up in the driveway to unload and load up the car. We aslo ordered food delivery a couple times with no issues as far as the property being located. Great central location between downtown Boston and Salem and other points north. Would definitely stay here again!

5 stars and then some for the best hosts and fabulous accommodations! We absolutely loved our stay in this charming jewel, and did not want to leave! We have never encountered a better hosting duo! We can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I have used Vrbo while travelling for weddings, family events and vacations. Our stay at the "sweet" was by far the most enjoyable. We felt safe, comfortable and at home. We plan to come back!

This property as well as the owners Francie and Bob, are absolutely charming. The location on the quiet street near the water was unforgettable and the town of Marblehead is so quaint. The owners think of everything to make your stay comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wouldn’t stay anywhere else on our next visit to the area.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay in the Sweet so much. It was clean and cute, and the hosts were top notch. We also liked that it was so close to everything we wanted to do in Marblehead, Boston, and Salem! I would definitely come back!

I can't sing Francie's praises enough! Our stay at the Sweet was absolutely perfect. Our host thought of everything from restaurant recommendations to washing machine instructions. She even provided some extra yummy goodies to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I can not recommend the Sweet enough, the location, the space, and the host were all top notch!

Beautiful property, location walking distance to restaurants, ocean and hiking trails. Francie has clearly thought of everything to be welcoming, even fresh fruit, cheese, crackers and olives. Would stay here again and highly recommend!

Very accommodating host.

This was a wonderful place to stay in Marblehead. Easy access and within walking distance of the historic downtown. Francie was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. She even had a cheese plate and chocolates ready for us when we arrived! The apartment was better than we anticipated. It is separate from the host's house so very quiet and clean. It has everything we needed, plus 2 mountain bikes for us to use (we rode out to the Neck!). We recommend this VRBO for anyone looking for a place to stay in Marblehead.
