This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Last year we stayed in the West Unit, this time it was the East. Everything was awesome! It is exactly as advertised and the distance to the beach was perfect. It was easy to walk to the beach every morning to see the sunrise. Can't wait to come back.

Close to beach for early morning walks. Good restaurants to pick from near by. Aquarium, Fort Macon, Point for Sunsets. Restful place to recharge and enjoy.

This property was awesome..great location to beach & easy beach access..just wish I could have stayed longer. Would have liked some sort of grab bar for getting in & out of tub shower. Was great being able to take my dog..

This place was everything it was described as and so much more! Centrally located to everything in Emerald Isle, 40 minutes away from Morehead City and Atlantic beach, very clean, everything updated and well maintained! You can't get more beach front without being beach front than this house. 20 feet from the front steps is the ramp that takes you to the ocean. You can see the waves while standing on the front porch and can feel the salt water hit your face if the breeze is just right. The owners were very helpful and very quick to respond to any questions we had prior to and during our trip. This place is great for a small family or a couple with no kids but a four legged friend who likes to tag along. The only negative thing I can even think of is that the ceiling fan in the master bedroom makes a little noise from time to time if it's on high and the master bedroom has a queen sized bed and not a king, but that is a personal thing and in no way affected our trip. I could keep going on but I'll end it here. We will definitely be back in the very near future1

Very satisfied overall...location...perfect...neighborhood easy to manuever...restaurants, gas, grocery locations perfect...beach and proximity to the beach amazing and the house was comfortable and had the convenience of home...would definitely recommend and will stay again...perfect if not directly on the beach...owner contact and instructions spot on...do not pass go here...you will be satisfied.

It was Wonderfully relaxing, Peaceful and Quiet! The Porch with rockers were GREAT for the sounds of the Surf!! Beds were very comfortable/ Kitchen perfect/well stocked!! Beach access GREAT!!

The property was extremely clean, had everything we needed, and could not have been a better location. Beach access was right next to the house and you could see the ocean from the porch. We had a great stay and would stay again!

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at Surf Sounds. This was special because my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren rented the other half of the duplex. As before, it was spotless, extremely well equipped and convenient to the beach. The owner was very responsive when a small problem popped up with the internet. Would give it more than 5 stars if possible!

We had a wonderful stay. I've been coming to Emerald Isle for almost 40 years and this place ranks in the top 5% of the places I've stayed. The house was clean, had a well-appointed kitchen (with sharp knives!), and was the perfect size for the 4 of us with our small dog.

We had a wonderful time! James was very communicative prior to our arrival. The house was clean and well appointed. The hosts include details to make your stay more comfortable -- even for our dog who appreciated having an extra bed & treats! The location is amazing and perfect for days at the beach. We enjoyed our first trip to Emerald Isle and hope to return soon!

This was our second year in Emerald Isle and this stay was by far the best. Really enjoyed the front porch, the view was magnificent. Being just steps from the Atlantic Ocean was a major convenience. The owners were more than accommodating and responded to the one problem we had in record time. We have already booked for next year and are counting down the weeks. The island, the people, the things to do have created the “perfect” vacation. If you happen to price other properties around, this place has all the comfort for a fair fair price. Highly recommend!

Just returned last week from our one week stay on Emerald Isle. Just like the previous year we stayed at the “Surf Sounds Almost Oceanfront”. Love this duplex; it is well kept, spacious, clean, has all the amenities, and right by the ocean. The Moore’s have all bases covered when it comes to providing comfort and enjoyability. Very clean and great location! Could see and hear the ocean from our deck. The beach is huge with lots of seashells and was basically deserted during our stay; which was great since we had our daughter's day with us! Easy access to the house and was exactly as described.

Beautiful, pet-friendly property. A perfect beach getaway for my family. Lovely renovations that maximizes space in this two bedroom unit. Great front deck with beautiful views of the ocean while drinking morning tea/coffee and evening wine. Perfect access to the beach and great outdoor shower to wash away the beach sand. Would highly recommend this duplex.

We loved our week at the beach in this house. Sitting on the front porch in a rocker every morning with a view of the ocean was awesome! There is no through traffic in front of the house just bicycles and walkers. There was the occasional golf cart. The house is just steps away from the walkway to the beach. The house is conveniently located to grocery shopping, eating out and much more. If you bring or rent bicycles you can just park your car and bike most places. We went on a day trip to Shackleford Banks and saw the horses and hiked from the bay side to the Atlantic side. It’s an awesome experience. The house had everything we needed to feel right at home for a week. We will definitely be back next year.

We stayed here for a week in August. The home was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. It is always nice to stay in a home in which the owner clearly takes pride. Although it is a duplex, we barely heard any noise from the other side of the house. The location is excellent, being right near the walkway to the beach. The owners were excellent to work with and quick to respond to any questions we had. Highly recommend!

I’ve stayed in several rentals for beach visits over the years. This was, by far, the best. It is clean and bright with plenty of space steps away from the beach. It’s clear the owners care for their tenants. This home has everything you need in the kitchen. It offers a gas grill on the deck as well as a charcoal grill with charcoal in case you have a preference. It’s also close to grocery shopping. Toys, chairs and boogie boards were stocked for beach days. There is an outdoor shower and hoses at each entrance to help do away with the sand. The half bath in the main bed makes this a great choice when traveling with others in case someone in the group is move inclined to privacy. The open floor plan means no crowing. AC worked well as did fans. The big deck made for good coffee and sunrise combos plus post/pre-beach rests. This is the cleanest rental I have stayed in period. Beds are very comfortable. Couches are great for movie or video game nights. I definitely recommend this stay. It was worth the cost.

The space was very clean and convenient to all of the activities. It was great to find a place that appreciates that people like to bring their pets on vacation. The only drawback was the comforter in the main needed to be larger for 2 people. We would definitely select this accommodation again if we were to stay in the area.
