The cabin home was excellent. We chose a period of time during which there was a major cold snap (once, the temps dropped to the teens overnight), so we did have to pull out the provided space heaters, but they only made the experience cozier! As the description notes, the water does have a sulfur smell, but a water cooler is installed in the home. We chose to purchase a few gallons of drinking water from the local Food Lion, which was nice for our coffee and iced tea. One thing the description should provide that it doesn't is that the coffeemaker in the cabin uses full-sized basket filters rather than cone filters, so if you're accustomed to a cone filter at home, make sure you get a box of the basket filters before you leave. Our American Eskimo (Eskie) dog went with us, and she loved traipsing around in the pasture behind the home (though she had a little trouble with the stairs to the bedrooms). However, she loved lying on the heart pine floors, which kept her cool when we needed the home to be toastier. The location is excellent, too, as you're not very far from hiking trails, the Parkway, and Asheville. It IS best to arrive in the daylight if you're not familiar with the area, as it's difficult to find the driveway to the home in the dark. All in all, an exemplary headquarters for a relaxing vacay.

My husband and I had the best stay! The cabin was perfectly cozy and it had everything we needed. The location was close enough to town, while also secluded enough to relax! We also brought our dog and it was perfectly dog friendly as well.10/10 would recommend and would love to stay again!

The privacy and cleanliness and location were top notch.

Cabin was musty and very dark. Diseasher broken. dirty dishes put away as clean, dirty utensils on counter, AC very poor, hot tub lid was disgusting, porch was dirty and had wasp nests on post, hot tub was foggy and WAY over chemicals and created a gross foam, very busy road about 300 yards away. With rediculous fees, I wouldnt recommend this cabin at all. It was disappointing enough, we left after the first night to find better accommodations.

Lovely quiet spot, but super convenient to downtown Asheville. The owner informed us the hot tub was broken at check-in, but actually got it fixed the first day so it was on when we got back the next afternoon. Would definitely stay again.

The location, the amenities and the overall care for such an old property are great. We had the best time exploring the area and being able to relax in such a private and beautiful spot with our dog. Highly recommend!

The cabin was very nice! We were unaware of the horrible sulphur smell. Thank goodness for the hot/cold water that was provided! The old bathtub was nice to look at but very impractical for showering! The shower curtain was WAY to long. Great location and very private!

We arrived to a dirty cabin! There was lettuce and various crumbs in the drawers of the refrigerator. The stove top had stuck on food and oil spots everywhere. A french fry in the grate of the oven. The glass shower shelf that holds soap and shampoo's was covered in slimy soap scum (It clearly wasn't cleaned). The pull out couch when pulled out had various different food crumbs, bobby pins and hair ties (yuck). No one should ever be on VACATION and come to a place they spent $$$ on to rent and enjoy and walk into what we did. The outdoor grill was filthy and full of whatever food was previously cooked on it. The skewers for toasting marshmallows was filthy covered in burnt (unwashed) marshmallow pieces. The gas tank ran out during our stay while cooking breakfast for our family with no tools available to change out. The small heaters provided were not substantial enough throughout the freezing winter nights. Large bugs came in and were all over the upstairs. My kids were struggling to sleep at night because of this. We ended up leaving a few days early after how horrible this experience was. Not a thing was compensated back to us. A complete waste of money. Would never recommend anyone go through Vacasa especially. They acted like they would "make some things right" but in the end we got zero compensation. All we got out of this trip was a massive waste of money and disappointed family and kids and wasted trip and time that could have been spent more enjoyably elsewhere.

An arrival Christmas tree/decor, an indoor wood fireplace and the hot tub was very appreciated and got much use. Given the frigid temperatures the space heaters up and downstairs were needed and well utilized.

We had a great time everything was perfect! The driveway was all gravel and downhill so with the rain it was a little sketchy but we were in a jeep so we had no issues. Loved the hot tub! I for sure thing this is a great stay for a couple or a small family as there is only 1 full bathroom. Such a great getaway for us.

Overall great cabin, very cute with some updates. Our daughter loved that it had a hot tub and they have a box fan available which I thought was great. IYKYK.
Now the cons: It's my opinion that if you take a car to this cabin and it rains or snows you might not make it out and you'll prob be scraping on the way in. I was in a mid sized SUV and getting out under dry conditions was tricky. I was scared the rain would start before we checked out because I truly thought we would end up stuck. Beware.
When we arrived the door lock was dead so we could not enter the code leaving us unable to go inside until realized both doors to the cabin were unlocked as well as several windows left up and open. I felt very unsafe going into a cabin that had been left unsecured where a person could have gotten in or an animal through a screen. One screen (near the hot tob) was already pulled out in some areas. I just didn't find this acceptable at all.
We had to leave the property unlocked when we left as we had no way to lock it back up. That's a huge problem. We were able to get a code for a key box and use it from that point, however, I don't think the door battery just happened to die in the 2-3 hours between the cleaning crew leaving and us arriving (we got a text that made it seem like housekeeping had been there that day) so I was annoyed it wasn't taken care of earlier. They offered to come replace the battery during our stay but I didn't want someone accessing inside the property while we were there OR while we were out. This was kind of a bother all around.
Lastly, the tub/shower... I saw a note/review on the wall of the cabin from 2015 (?) when I believe their first guest stayed. They mentioned that the shower curtain was too long and there we were years later still with a ridiculously long shower curtain. Doesn't seem like a big deal but it was. It's a clawfoot tub so the long curtain ends up at your feet which pulls the sides of the curtain in and it's almost just wrapped around you. It gets over the drain, it's cold, it's prob not washed between guests, just yuck and so uncomfortable. It was so bad we only showered the first day. How hard is it to cut the curtain??? There was also a sharp glass shelf that juts out over the tub which is dangerous and I was surprised it was put there. No thought of safety went into that.
So yes we liked the cabin but for what we paid a night total cost we prob won't go back. And they ask you to do laundry lol. No.

We had a great time, we never left the cabin, hot tub, fire pit, coziness, great kitchen facilities and about 20 nice turkeys visiting daily.
Only problem was the access road, tires were spinning in place and at times all four wheels were not touching. I was literally stuck for 10 minutes trying to decide what to do. I had to back up, refill in the ruts, get a running start and drive partially in the edge of the grass. My sister behind me had 4 wheel drive and we popped hers into 4 wheel drive mode so she could exit. But we got our! Please take this in to consideration when booking here. If it rained I'm not sure I would have made it out.

The property is secluded and pretty nice. The driveway is a little sketchy, make sure your car has good ground clearance. I’m pretty sure my corvette would not have made it to the house. Most average cars would do fine though.

This was romantic getaway for two. It was great. The sulfur smell in the water did not slow us down. Plenty of freshwater in a provided cooler in the kitchen. Great Hot tub, porch and view. Very close to Asheville attractions. We would stay again!!!

Lovey real country log cabin
Lovely stay far out in the country. Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. But still be close enough to visit the Biltmore House. Nicely modernized old times cabin. Property manager was very responsive to any needs we had. Briefly met the owner the day we left. Very nice gentleman. Would definitely recommend this as a romantic getaway. Or just a quiet country retreat for a couple of people or a small family. Lots of charm. Exceptionally clean.

Cozy cabin surrounded by fields
We had a great stay! Comfy beds, house was stocked with everything we needed. We had some trouble figuring out the hvac when we got there, I think the thermostats on the units may be off. Regardless, we were able to make ourselves comfortable. We loved having the space to let the dogs explore and run around near the property, there are several fields surrounding the house. We even saw turkeys, which the dogs got a kick out of. The smell of the water is a little off putting, especially while showering. We were thankful that water jugs were provided for drinking.

We had a great week at the cabin - it was very clean on our arrival and plenty of linens were provided. The kitchen was well-stocked and we especially liked the large gas stove in the center island.
The location was good - about 20 minutes to Asheville and 45 minutes to Brevard (for any bikers, it was 1 hr on the nose to Dupont). I would warn anyone who is looking for total seclusion that you will not get that here - while the cabin is fairly remote, you can see the road in the distance (although it is far enough away that I don't think people driving would really notice you). It is nice and quiet at the cabin, and there is a big field for dogs to get their exercise.
If you are traveling with multiple couple/friends you should know that you have to go through the first bedroom to get to the second. Probably not a big deal for a lot of people but it could kill the romance, so to speak, if that's what you're looking for.
We had minimal issues while we were there and when something minor came up the Turnkey team responded quickly. My major negative feedback is that while we stayed at the cabin for 6 nights at over $200 per night, they only gave us enough dishwashing detergent for 2 loads. I asked for more and was instructed to buy it at the store. I don't think it would kill your bottom line to be slightly more generous there.

My husband and I stayed for a little 4 day getaway. The cabin is quite charming and cozy. The pics on the site don’t capture the charm. It’s very nicely decorated and secluded just enough to feel like we were the only ones for miles. This is an updated old cabin so keep that in mind as there are some things lacking that you might get at a brand new luxury cabin. However it’s still an amazing place and it feels so authentic. I highly recommend this place and we will stay here again! Also, the rental company is very quick to respond by text. I couldn’t figure out how to work the heaters the first night, and they answered my right away and helped me troubleshoot to get them working. One thing I did find funny was the VRBO site says there are 80 inch TVs in all the rooms. That’s huge and would be like 6’8” lol! Well the TVs are more like 60 inches, and are still very nice. A little tip, the tv in the living room is on a swivel and can be turned to face out the window on the porch so we could watch it while we were in the hot tub! That’s was pretty cool. I will say this, I would not recommend if you have any mobility issues as the stairs are narrow and steep and getting into the tub to shower could be difficult for someone that’s not very balanced or agile. All in all, this place is awesome and authentic. It’s in a private and peaceful setting surrounded by trees. It’s 15 minutes to downtown Asheville so you get the feel of being in the mountain country but have quick access to the city and there are two grocery stores and a couple restaurants within a couple miles as well as a brewery.

Starting with the positive, the cabin itself with its natural surroundings was charming. However, the cabin was not clean when we arrived and you could tell that the cabin lacked proper upkeep (cobwebs inside of cabin, unkept yard and porch, malfunctioning lights, filthy barbecue...get the point?). This cabin has great potential but it’s upkeep leaves much to be desired. When we arrived the cabin was dirty, we were literally walking in to someone else’s dirt (dirty kitchen, dirty bathrooms-hair in shower, slept in beds, linens in washing machine, knife on bed etc)...totally unacceptable especially during a covid pandemic. We wanted to leave and go somewhere else but we were told our money would not be refunded (walking away as soon as we entered the mess in the cabin would have been justified). Instead we were made to wait for housekeeping to arrive and clean the house in our presence. While we waited for housekeeping to come we had to pull out our own disinfectant wipes in order to clean around the common areas. When we called we were unable to speak directly with the person making these decision (ie manager) but instead communicated through a representative. We were refunded the cleaning fee, but given all the aggravation and inconvenience this situation caused I believe TurnKey did the least they could do to correct their error but not the best they could do. I work with people everyday and when we make an error we not only correct the error but compensate people for the aggravation and inconvenience that our error caused them.
