The view from the hotel/inn is amazing. The place is peaceful, and the staff are hardworking and kind. It is a great place to stay if one wants to be near Schoodic peninsula.

Very quiet cabin, perfect for 5-6 people to spend a long weekend or even a week. Although Acadia is a good 50 minute away, I would not hesitate to stay here if visiting Bar Harbor region again.

Stunning view and nice picnic tables to sit. Would have been nice to have a fire in the fire pit but it was filled with water and there were mosquitoes swarming the Adirondack chairs.
Also it was difficult to sit in other chairs provided bc they were soaked from rain.

On the plus side; Fantastic view. Comfortable bed.
On the minus side; Internet in Room 8 was non-usable due to inadequate signal.
Had to carry bags up steep stairs - no desk person to help.
Ice not available
No TV in room or common area.
No small fridge in room.
Only 2 bath towels provided for 2 people on 2 night stay.
Very small bathroom.
Not well soundproofed.
No hair dryer.
Not worth the price that we paid.

Family owned, super quiet and safe, staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rustic but very comfortable lodge. Appreciated the informative texts, the nice continental breakfast, and the comfortable bed. The view from the terrace is majestic! Hunter was very helpful and friendly.

The best view with nice cozy room.Had a great stay and would love to come back .
Don is easy and friendly to talk to , he made sure we get to our room safely and easily for a late check in .

It was an amazing stay nestled in the woods of Maine. It had a beautiful overlook, unfortunately it was cloudy the 2 nights we stayed there and we didn’t get to see the beautiful sunsets.

The view from the inn and cabins was beautiful. The owner/staff couldn’t be nicer. The cabins are not large but were absolutely what we were looking for. If you’re looking for a nice quiet/peaceful getaway then I’d highly recommend checking out the Bluff House Inn. Only thing to know in advance is that the inn is located a decent drive (~40 mins) away from Acadia and Bar Harbor area if you are looking to do that, but is very close to the Schoodic side of Acadia.

Bluff house completely filled all the conditions and descriptions that were promised. We were impressed and thankful for a great night.

Great view and location. Property needs updating. Heat didn’t work in our room and chilly in morning. Good breakfasts.

The view is breathtaking. A wonderful, laid-back experience away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, but close enough to there and to Acadia National Park after a short ride. An excellent choice.

Relaxing, lovely, and comfortable. Found this place at the last minute ans can't believe my luck! It's the perfect location for venturing out to Acadia, taking the ferry to Bar Harbor, the Schoodic loop and various other hiking spots. There are several good restaurants within a 2-3 mile drive, and breakfast is included at the Inn everyday. I made sure to get back by early evening because the sunset view on the deck is not to be missed! Would definitely make it a point to come back here!

It was a spontaneous booking but it was the best decision that I could have done! The view is wonderful and the hotel is beautiful. I loved it there!

A lovely spot with a beautiful view. Room was cozy and comfortable. Text messages were very informative. Breakfast included is nice. Stairs are a bit challenging as we get older. An enjoyable stay

The view off the balcony is awesome 👌.
Very quiet generally. The walls are pretty thin,so you can hear your neighbor.
Breakfast was ok, could be earlier (7am).
The bed was comfortable.

This property rental caused me to close my Expedia account. My account was hacked and booked by someone using my name and email address. I communicated this information to the owners, who were very apologetic and understanding —- and then I never heard from them again and they charged my credit card that was connected to the Expedia account. They were supposed to verify ID of the imposters, as well as require a different form of payment - and they did not follow through with any commitments they’d made to me.

Our cabin was cozy and clean. The queen bed was very comfortable. It is a 50 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (except for the Schoodic Peninsula part, which is near). Also, most nearby restaurants are closed on Mondays.

My daughter and I stayed two nights at the Inn this past week and had a wonderful stay. The Bluff House is relaxing and it has a very laid back feel. The communication by text from the owner for check in and check out was excellent. We were greeted by Kylee who throughout our stay was an absolute delight of a young lady. Hunter was our breakfast and coffee guy and always has a nice smile on his face. The common room was very nice to hang out in and play cards. The views are spectacular from the porch. The only suggestion I would make is to have a few umbrellas on the deck or down below for relief from the sun. The Inn is convenient to everything the Schoodic Peninsula has to offer.

We loved the peacefulness of this property. Away from.the hustle and bustle. We appreciated Don's willingness to work.with us on our very very late plane arrival. He also gave us great tips of things to do and places to eat.

The Bluff House Inn is a lovely and quiet place, perfect for a nice retreat to decompress and relax. It’s perfect to discover the various parts of Acadia National Park! Big compliments to Don and Hunter for their guidance and welcoming way!
Thanks for hosting us!

The Bluff House Inn was a perfect weekend getaway! We stayed in one of the 9 small cabins, located just a short walk from the Inn. My husband and I brought our 2 pugs and could not have enjoyed our stay more. Our cabin had a lovely front porch with an amazing view of the water and surrounding mountains. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and did I mention the view?! We had breakfast at the Inn, which is just further down the driveway. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfast, sitting on the deck, enjoying the beautiful ocean view. It was a great way to start our day. Can't say enough about our stay. We are already looking to book another stay in a few months. Perfect location if you're going to Schoodic Point or Winter Harbor!!

This was an expensive overnight stay and I had expected to be in a luxurious log cabin in wonderful surroundings.
On arrival I discovered that the cabins are closed in the winter because they have no heating. They are in fact located on the edge of an exposed patch of gravel overlooking the bay. They may be fine in summer or spring but not in the winter.
The hotel has a superb view from its veranda but the rooms, although clean, are quite basic. The heating wasn't working in my original room but, as there was only me and one other guest, it was possible to change without difficulty. There was a strong wind on the night that I stayed and there were lots of bangs and rattles from doors and windows throughout the night . It was necessary to prop one broken door closed with a bench on the veranda.
In the spring and summer when the place is full of people it is probably a great place to be. As it's got an exposed location this is not necessarily so in the winter. Had the price reflected this, I would have been happy with my stay. As this was the most expensive of my bookings on a two week tour I had expected it to be something really special.

This was misrepresented by Hotels.com. I was charged over $200 for a room with a bed … no tv … no amenities… no one to greet me… no glass for water from the tiny sink in the tiny bathroom. They did not lock the place. No one was up when I went down for breakfast… their website listed the room “ $85/night. It was supposedly 10 miles away from Acadia National Park… it was over an hour away. I reached out to Hotels.Com and someone was supposed to call me. No one did. I opened a dispute with PayPal.

Fantastic recommendations. Reached out in advance of our first trip to Acadia. Outstanding. Super helpful and prompt responses to ea inquiry I had. Accommodating and accessible staff.

I loved the small lake and views.

Stellar location. Nice big windows. Sink vanity a little too rustic. Back of front door really needs cleaning and/or painting. Comfortable bed.

We slept at the inn…the owner was very friendly and accommodating…However, the room was not clean enough. The bath curtain was very dirty. The lights were only 50% working and the matters was probably 15-20 years old, noisey and not comfortable ( say the least). The bed frame was lose.
Breakfast was ok, no more.
The views were spectacular but thats the only good thing I would say about this hotel.

It was a gorgeous place to stay. The cabin was comfortable and clean. The staff at the main house could not have been any nicer. And the views were amazing.

Very enjoyable stay at Cabin #1. After a long ride we were thrilled to arrive for a gorgeous sunset right from our porch.
Check in was contactless (easy!) Don from the Bluff House Inn was very accommodating via text. Even provided us with helpful Acadia tips.
The cabins were remote from the Inn but we still felt very supported/connected, so relaxing!
The cabin is immaculate! Beds were comfy. No tvs - that’s a plus for me! Location is awesome if you want privacy to unwind. Yes it is a ride to Cadillac Mtn side of Acadia but SO close to Schoodic area which to us is the real gem of Acadia National Park.
Not much in the area for dining so plan accordingly. Lobster rolls are abundant in the area. ( Tracey’s for quantity 2 for $20 or Downeast Lobster pound for quality OMG)
So much more to explore here. Looking forward to a return visit.
