About this lodge
Nestled in New York, this attractive lodge for $400 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Formerly Covert's Moose Lodge, which was built in 2002, was created with families and hunters in mind. We have only used the lodge for visiting guests and never lived in as a regular home. It is located on the end of a quiet road in a tranquil valley consisting of open meadows, hills, and a large pond. Relax in front of the gas fireplace or sit out on the deck or relax in the hot tub and enjoy the view of the hills, ponds, and wildlife. The floor plan is open and roomy. The large floor to ceiling windows offer lots of natural light. Hardwood floors in the main living areas. Wall-to-wall carpet in all sleeping areas. Walls are natural pine. Located in the Hartwick area of Otsego County, it is only 9 miles from the Village of Cooperstown and 18 miles from the City of Oneonta. We are just 7 miles from the Cooperstown Dreams Park and 16 miles from the Cooperstown All Star Village. Over 5,000 acres of State lands are available for hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking just minutes from Oakview Lodge. Otsego Lake, Canadarago Lake, Goodyear Lake, and Susquehanna River are all nearby. We have satellite TV, high speed wi-fi internet (as of October 2023), local and long distance phone (cell service is very limited), central air conditioning, washer and dryer for your use. Washer and dryer are not available in winter months. Gas fireplace is not available in summer months. Location Address is: 190 Toy Farm Rd, Hartwick NY 13348. Cooperstown Dreams Park, Cooperstown All Star Village, Baseball Hall of Fame, Glimmerglass Opera Rates - September through May $135 per night first couple, $55 each additional guest per night. *****Rates - June through August $2400 per "week" (six days) according to Baseball Tournament Dates. Please inquire as rates may show incorrectly in quote. The location is definitely secluded which served our purposes well. Centrally located between Oneonta and Cooperstown which was ideal for our trip. The property itself was immaculate and well-stocked with cooking utensils, towels, bed linens etc. Nate and Dana were excellent hosts and greeted us upon arrival and took their time to explain the nuances of the property and to answer any questions. Their communication from the time of the booking to the time of check-out was prompt and professional. The quality of the internet speed was the only real flaw but given the secluded nature of the property it was nice to at least have something. Will consider staying here again next Fall.

Went to see a baseball game in Cooperstown. It was nice being so close to be able to have some meals there. The beds were very comfy, it was very clean, and the internet was sufficient to do school homework on. There was a checker board upstairs, and tvs on both floors. There was a firepit with firewood you could use but we never got to that. Lots of hooks to hang things on, and lots of towels provided which was nice. Very responsive host. If I am out that way again I would stay again for sure.

What a lovely property and stay! We enjoyed everything about our stay here - the house was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable - the rustic cabin decor was lovely. The hot tub was immaculate and just wonderful on a cooler late summer night. 5 star rental!

Great spot for a week of baseball with kids, parents and grand parents! Packed way too much, the house ready with everything needed for a weeks stay. The kids enjoyed the pond and deer spotting. Hot tub was relaxing and beds were comfortable. Long days and late nights at the park meant not a lot of time at the house but it was very comfortable when we were home. Dana met us, explained some things and was available,if we had any questions. It is about 15 minutes from the ball park and 15 min. from Cooperstown, a nice town, lots of restaurants and shops.
If you are going with a group, I’d definitely recommend this house!

We had a great stay. We traveled in from Maryland for our son to play baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park. The house was nice and clean and gave plenty of room. It was in great location to Cooperstown and the baseball fields. Tons of restaurants. Coopers Barn is our favorite place to get ice cream. The owners were great to work with and very responsive. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your place.
Only downfall was the service for phones. Once you go up the mountain service is very spotty but it was nice to unplug some.

My family had the best experience at your property. The proximity to Cooperstown was ideal…we loved the open spaces around the cabin…and the layout of the cabin was spacious yet slept our crew of 6 perfectly! It was clean and well stocked and enabled us to easily fix meals in the kitchen and on the grill. I would highly recommend this property! The hosts were extremely kind and helpful as well!

My family stayed at this lovely home while we were in town playing at Cooperstown Dream Park. It was an easy 15+ min drive to the ball fields, and similar to most other attractions- with some restaurant options closer. House was clean, views are beautiful - our family especially enjoyed fishing the pond across the way. We didn’t spend too much time in the house, so not sure if there are games and such for kids entertainment. The WiFi is weak- so no streaming and touch and go regarding cell service. Kitchen was adequate and grill worked great— would absolutely stay here again!

The place was lovely and spotless! We only stayed for two nights but enjoyed the hot tub and the scenery. Heads up to other guests, the hosts ask that you not stream anything on the WiFi, so you will have to download whatever you want to watch before you reach the house. This wasn't a problem for us since we had already downloaded podcasts for the drive. There is a DVD player. We will definitely stay longer next time, though we may ask for a later checkout than 9am in the future. Quite a lovely place to stay and only about 15-20 minutes from restaurants in Cooperstown.

This was a nice place to stay while spending a couple days in Cooperstown. Dana, the owner, communicated with us along the way; and met us when we arrived. There were only three of us, so the house was more than we needed; but our 19 year old grandson enjoyed having the upstairs to himself — and his own bathroom! We had everything we needed (only fixed breakfasts). Appreciated that we had a washer/dryer to do laundry. Hot tub was nice in the evening before bed. Would highly recommend if in the Cooperstown area. And the little town of Hartwick has a bat factory that we stopped at for a tour — such friendly workers that certainly enjoy their job — one of the highlights of our visit to Cooperstown.

This place was very clean and well-appointed. There were only three of us and the place has enough table settings for 20 and anything you would need to entertain a large group. Nate and Dana were wonderful.

Met some family from Rochester for a weekend getaway. Niece wanted to see the HOF and check out some breweries. The cabin was a great home base for our weekend. The weather was perfect for sitting on the deck and in the hot tub.
Owners were super about communicating.

What an incredible lodge! A group of us stayed for a weekend in February and we had an absolutely amazing time. Check-in process was easy, the lodge had everything we needed as far as bedding/towels/kitchen supplies for cooking, and the hot tub & gas fireplace gave us some much-needed reprieve from winter. The location itself is great too; we really enjoyed exploring Cooperstown and the surrounding area. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We went to this cabin to celebrate our 17th anniversary. It was such a great pick. The cabin was spotless, the hosts were great, the property was private but close to all kinds of cool things. Sitting in a hot tub under the stars was unbeatable. We went on the coldest day in recent history and the cabin was warm and snug and completely romantic with the fireplace. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to have a romantic getaway!!!!

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend here recently and really enjoyed our stay. The house was very spacious and clean. Cooking was easy since the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary kitchenware. Our favorite features were the fireplace and the hot tub. The hosts were kind and quick to respond when we had questions. Overall, we had a very relaxing and wonderful weekend at this property.

We loved the lodge so much!!! We were greeted by the owner on arrival and were immediately pleased with how clean the lodge was. We enjoyed the hot tub while it snowed and watched the deer graze in the field. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We went out to dinner one night to Upstate Grill and grilled steaks out on their gas grill the second night. The heat works great so we weren’t mad that the fireplace wasn’t working. Would recommend rug stoppers in the kitchen because I slid a few times. We brought our 5 month old son and he loved the decor! Plenty of space for a much larger group. We can’t wait to come back. Definitely highly recommend this big slice of heaven to anyone looking to get away from it all but still want modern conveniences.

Loved this cabin for our first wedding anniversary, which was peaceful and allowed for the two of us to enjoy each others company. Only about a 20 min drive into Cooperstown, where the Baseball Hall of Fame and restaurants/coffee shops. There is also a near brewery (Ommegang) near by that had some great food and is only a beautiful farm. Highly recommend staying here!
