Silver Lake Getaway

Good location for our family. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, as we were sightseeing and enjoying the drives and activities along the lake. The man at the front desk was very pleasant upon arrival.

Really busy. Lots of traffic by hotel. Just be careful with young kids.

The room was nice and clean. The location was perfect and we loved the kids area out back.

I like that it is in a central location

When I booked the reservation, I didn't know I had an option of having a bathtub or shower. I assumed all rooms had bathtubs and showers. It was difficult giving my 20 month old a bath in the shower but I will request it next time.

Clean comfortable and friendly stay

To be honest, I didn’t expect that the room would of been that clean. It proofed me wrong, don’t judge the book by it’s cover. The room was very very clean. I can say better than other hotels. The bathroom was very very clean. I will definitely stay here again. The surrounding of the hotel was very clean and the pool was well taken care of. And the front desk employees and cleaning staff were very friendly. Front desk clerk was very nice, kind and helpful.

Though the room was spotless clean. It did have a musty smell but I’m guessing cause of the humidity in the air. Which wasn’t a big deal about it. We opened the window and the fresh air was coming in.

Wonderful for our family

Location was amazing - we were close to everything and were able to walk easily for dinners or evening ice cream. The staff was friendly and accommodating, helpful and always available if needed. I liked the casual atmosphere and that everyone was respectful of each other - in the evening guests liked to relax outside with their group and it was never loud, and I never saw trash left out. One group was in the upper hallway and we had to pass by and they were pleasant and moved without us even asking. It was a nice, family friendly vibe.

The mattresses in our room were really uncomfortable. It was my only complaint about the whole stay and we would certainly return if there were new, more comfortable mattresses. A good night's sleep is so important!

Fun location, Family oriented property!

Great family place, can't beat the location. The rooms aren't fancy but that's a good thing - no worrying about the room, it is simple clean and fits the need. Why have a fancy room when you're just going to track sand into it! The property is great for vacationing with the family - outdoor grills, huge sand box, nice pool and the beach is steps away.

Wish the bathroom was a little bigger.

All lodging is overpriced these days. It is the new norm, but this is the most I've ever paid for a smallish room with two beds and a basic BR; however, it was very clean, which I appreciated as it was mainly a place to just sleep. The pool was very nice, larger than I'd expect and also clean and well maintained. I spent a few hours in it on a hot day. Although there wasn't a private beach access, the hotel was about as central as you could be, and that was great.

In truth, nothing could have been better given the limitations of the resort itself in that there wasn't a private water access/beach and the overall size of the units and close proximity being rather retro like those car motels you pass on the road.

Great place to stay while visiting silver lake

Location doesn't get any better,within walking distance to all activities, few minutes drive to dune access, ample parking for truck/trailer if your taking machines to the dunes, pool was nice and clean, rooms were clean

Was very pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room. Loved that they have a broom for sweeping the dirt up. Loved the bigger size trash cans. (Only downfall… no blow dryer and I usually bring my own, but opted not to this time thinking they’d have one) oh well, not a huge concern, but would be more convenient for travelers. The pool was great, very clean, nice lounging area, good size… nice temp…(and we have our own unground pool to compare to) The gentleman checking us in/out was very friendly with a nice sense of humor which we always appreciate. Would love to stay again sometime!

Our stay was pleasant, quite and relaxing. If only the shower was acceptable

The location was great. The room was upgraded nicely (except for the bathroom) The staff was great too.

The shower head was at 1960 height with 1960 puke yellow fixture colors. The colors are irrelevant but it's unacceptable for the shower head to have not been updated in the last 50yrs. This alone will stop me from ever staying there again.

Charming accommodations in excellent location to the beach, Dunes, gokarts, etc.!

Charming beach town property reminiscent of days gone by! Property and room were extremely clean; pool was unexpectedly large and sparkling clean, too!

Shower head was pretty low so that we had to bend over to rinse our hair; soap was pretty small and no lather. No outlets I the bathroom and no hair dryer.

This property is awesome! Easily accessible and so close to anything that you would want to do! from the candy store next door, to an awesome chicken place and go karts ride across the street.

I have no complaints :)

uncomfortable and over-priced.

The location and the view of the dunes.

The room was old and outdated. There is no table and chairs in the room and the TV was small and didn't work the whole time. The Silver Lake private beach front that they advertise is a sand pit with no entry into the lake so if you wanted to swim or use the lake, you had to walk or drive to a public beach. The area is small and no options to go get a nice meal and drink. a lot of campgrounds and activities for kids but nothing for adults.
