This property exceeded our expectations with a large landscape, large back porch with friendly birds coming to say good morning.
The house was able to accommodate all of us comfortably. Bunks were a little uncomfortable on the mattresses, but I guess that's mainly for little kids that don't weigh much.
Very clean and tidy and very very warm.

We have nothing bad to say = everything was great about this house! As advertised. In the forest, birds come on the balcony in the morning and around 4-6 pm which is great. Very quiet area and close to town. We would definitely come back, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our stay had one very serious negative, but other positives. I'll try to be balanced. On the positive side, the house is lovely, it’s what was advertised. It has a nice view of the bush and was clean and well prepared. On the negative side, we didn’t confirm final numbers until well after booking. When we did, going from 2 adults / 2 children to 4 adults / 5 children, the price doubled. This amount was never disclosed and was debited from our account as soon as we adjusted the numbers. That experience set us in a negative mood. Perhaps we were naïve, but we were used to properties adding nominal fees if you add extra people to a full property that you have booked. We didn't expect the price to double. We’ve given the property a reasonable score because it deserves it, but we weren’t happy with the clarity or communication style of the property management company.

Loved it
Well-maintained, secluded and comfortable place to chill out. The hammock on the veranda makes a great spot to (literally) hang whilst watching the rain and listening to the birds. Perfect for post-lockdown sanity.

The Bird house - up in the canopy
Comfortable, a really good holiday even though we had a rainy wet Katoomba week. Heating worked well. Birds spotted were fantastic - especially square-tail kite being attacked by 20 or more other birds. Great photo opportunity. House lay out worked well for teenage family... only comment was internet weak signal -

Just Wonderful
The house is wonderful, very clean with quality linen. The kitchen is well stocked with tea, coffee and basics like sugar and oil for cooking. The smart tv was a hit with us all (the toddler was very happy to see ABC Kids). There are a great range of toys which my almost 3yo loved. The best thing is the view and the bird life. We had so much joy in watching birds come to feed at breakfast time and even the toddler loved spotting kookaburras! The central heating is fantastic! We were here for the coldest day of winter and got snow! The whole family really enjoyed our weekend away to the mountains and would definitely come back to Sherilee's Rest

Everything was lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house was really nice, very clean, linen was really nice. Kitchen had everything and the heating was incredible, it heated up the house really quickly.

What a peace inspiring place nestled so close to town but feeling like you are in the country, all by yourself, with forest and abundant birdlife out the back! The place is well decked out and the checkin process seamless.

The house has underfloor heating and a well stocked kitchen with basic cooking essentials and nice crockery and glassware. It also has a wood burner which had a fire set and ready to go and some spare kindling. Bring your own matches. Unfortunately the property manager didn’t seem to be aware of the extra nice touches, when we inquired before our visit. The outlook and local bird life was lovely.There were 4 of us staying but only 3 towels were provided! Apart from that it was a pleasant stay.

A wonderful family retreat in the Blue Mountains
We went to Shiralee's with two small children and a baby for a weekend away. The property was lovely, very nicely done up with a big garden out the back. There was plenty for the kids to do inside with toys and outside with a trampoline, swing and hammock. We were there over a very cold weekend but there was excwllent heating across the house plus a toasty log fire. A quick drive to Katoomba Centre.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely little house. There is plenty of space for 10 people to enjoy yourself with a lovely back deck onto bushland. A very treasured place for memories.

Peaceful, fun for the whole family.
We spend a (much too) short weekend at Shiralee's Rest. It was comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The trampoline, toys, bbq, hammock were great source of entertainment. It was spacious for 4, we would be happy to return here with a larger crowd.

Lovely home
We had a lovely time. The fixtures and fittings like furniture and kitchen, beds, bathroom were all of a great quality which made 'living' there enjoyable. We also really enjoyed the back balcony that has a lovely outlook, outdoor setting, hammock and swing chair.
The only slightly annoying things were that the BBQ was unusable because it was so dirty under the plate and the other thing was that the indoor dining table did not have 6 chairs which meant that depending on whether we were eating inside or outside, we had to take chairs with us.
We had massively varying weather from 14 deg and rain all the way to 38 and sunny. The house temp sat in line with the outside temp so 38 was pretty exhausting.
Overall, an enjoyable stay though :-)

Amazing place
Beautiful property in an amazing location. Clean, cosy and very well maintained. The selection of games and DVDs in the study kept the kids entertained when the weather decided to scupper our bushwalking plans!

Great, peaceful location and immaculately clean!
We loved our stay at Shiraleee's rest, and only wished we had booked for longer. The house was immaculately clean, with what looked like new floors and a kitchen. The beds were very comfortable (and the two kids loved that they could each sleep on a top bunk!)
The kids loved all the birds that came to the birdfeeder on the back deck, and I loved just looking out at the national park -- so peaceful and relaxing.
The location was on a quiet street, in a lovely neighborhood away from the tourist hub-bub. The walking trail to the local falls was very nearby and a lovely walk with the kids (unfortunately it had been really rainy so we didn't make it all way down to the bottom because of slippery rocks).
We would love to stay at Shiralee's again, and will certainly recommend it!

Very relaxing home
This property is lovely - wide verandas all around with gorgeous bush land behind. Stunning birds come to the balcony to feed. Modern bathroom and well equipped kitchen and a second toilet. Great for kids with a netted trampoline and lots of board games and books to enjoy. Highly recommend to families traveling by car.

House was nice, but not a quiet location at all. so not suitable for a couple looking for peace and relaxation.
The neighbours were doing reno's, loud music & basically yahooing/yelling all day thru to the evening.

We had a great time at this house over a weekend. Our family is only 3 people so there was plenty of room and is nicely renovated inside. Is 3 bedrooms with 2 bunk beds in one bedroom available so plenty of beds if needed. Great for kids with a selection of board games and train set - our 3 year old thought it was Christmas with the selections on offer.The cottage is located in a very quiet street, fairly private bush block with good views off the back deck. A good size cottage with very nice kitchen/bathroom/lounge. Spa is in the bath and very relaxing. We didn't spend much time outside due to the weather.Only problem we had was the WiFi didn't work and the BBQ had an 'out of order' sticker on it which was a little dissapointing.Overall a great place to get away from it all in a comfy house.
