The house was incredible. We had 10 adults and everyone had their own space. We made ample use of the game room and kitchen. The only downside was we were unable to use the firepit or fireplace due to a HOA driven fire ban in Old Timberline. Otherwise the week was great!

This is the first place out of about 8 we have stayed with VRBO to which we would absolutely return. Except for the dust on the roads getting to the house from the gate (it hadn't rained for a few days according to the tow truck driver) I couldn't think of another complaint, and that's something coming from our group! It was perfect.
Everything exactly as shown on the photos and the kitchen is well supplied.

We were a group of people who became friends while we were in graduate school at Marshall University back in the 1970s. We started getting together again about 5 years ago. We try to go to different places for our spring trip each year. I must say that Bluebird Day was one of the best places we have stayed in. It was very spacious and had bedrooms on the main floor which was really nice for those that don’t traverse stairs very well. The kitchen was very well equipped. The fire pit was great since the evenings were still a little cool and we wanted to sit outside. We enjoyed playing pool. There were several other games in the game room as well. I would highly recommend this home for rental.

WE HAVE BEEN RENTING THIS HOUSE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. WE ARE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR AS WELL AND WILL CONTINUE TO RENT THIS HOUSE. IT NEEDS A LITTLE MORE CLOSE AND DETAILED CLEANING BUT IS A GREAT HOUSE. ALWAYS RENTING THIS HOUSE OVER MLK HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. Bluebird Day never disappoints! It was the perfect place for our cousins reunion and offers a little something for everyone. The house was spotless on arrival. New owners have made some nice upgrades.The staff at Best of Canaan were able to get wood delivered to the house and as always were a pleasure to deal with. I have stayed at Bluebird Day more times than I can count. I plan to return again and again!

We enjoyed our stay in this home very much. We were close enough to the sites we wanted to see (Blackwater Falls, etc) but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to really relax and recharge. Plenty of room for us to congregate as a large group, but plenty of spaces to have peace and quiet! The only complaint I would have is that the house could use a thorough deep cleaning...we saw mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers which we dealt with (did not contact property manager). We live in the woods so we know these pests find a way in no matter how hard you try BUT that needs to be addressed. Other than that, the place was well equipped and overall a great meeting place! Would recommend and return!

This is a huge house perfect for groups with plenty of space for R&R and outdoor enjoyment. The hot tub/fire pit set up out back is fantastic, as is the games room. The location is great for exploring/hiking/the ski resorts. The stay would have been 5 star all around if not for the mice running around each evening we were there. The management company sent someone to set traps, but didn't seem overly concerned. There were also mouse droppings in some of the kitchen drawers. I get that these things happen in the country, but more effort could have been made to reduce pests. We noticed a lot of dust in the property on mantels and fans, so perhaps additional attention could be paid to cleanliness.

This is a great house for a large group. It's true that the sofas, etc., need replaced, but we had great weather and were outside most of the time. The recessed lighting throughout the living areas badly need dimmer switches. The firepit and hottub were above average for rentals in this area, as was the supply of pots, pans, etc. For whatever reason, this house does not have any second-floor windows on the front side, so it is hard to get cross-ventilaiton on the second floor. The good news is that it got down into the 50s most nights even in mid-July and we stayed comfortable ven without AC. Would stay again.

Just a wonderful house that made our vacation that much more enjoyable. (Recommend Tip Top coffee shop in Thomas and Douglas waterfalls and Elakala Water falls.)
