It was a place to stay.

We came in from a night out and could not get inside. We woke up another guest at the hotel and they let us in. Literally in the middle of no where.

Host Marybelle was superb

No breakfast, but we were offered use of the kitchen. Beds were comfy, everything clean, good shower. Peaceful - we slept really well after a day at Talantongo. Pleasant, friendly little town. Lovely owner. Nice mountain views from the upstairs room (downstairs looked a little dark).

About 15 mins drive off the main road to Talantongo, so not as straightforward as we thought to get there by bus for the day (two buses) - we were waiting on the main road for our connection each way for a good while.

We decided to book a room instead of risking it at Gruto Tolantongo where the hotels do not take reservations. it was worth every penny to have the peace of mind knowing we had a nice, clean, simple room to spend the night. Our hostess was fantastic about providing us with a space heater on an unusually cold night. She also recommended an excellent pizza place in town that made delicious pizza.

The Wifi didn't work but that was to be expected. We came prepared with videos downloaded on our devices to keep ourselves entertained. Other than that there was nothing we didn't like about this hotel.

it was very economical. the bed was comfortable & plenty of warm blankets provided. we were there in winter (Jan 2022) so didn’t check the showers as it was pretty chilly. we were able to park inside a secure gate. I would stay again for a one-night stopover along the road.

the restaurant was closed despite it saying the opposite on the listing. it is noisy when other guests are moving around the hotel or talking. don’t depend on the wifi, but I’m sure that’s an accessibility issue for the hotel. we had a hard time finding it but we’re easily directed (in English) when I called.

Hot showers, good location, nice host, comfortable beds.

No kitchen stuff even though it was stated. We could use only microwave.

Construction still going on. I don't like noice. On Sunday it was quiet. Stayed two days and on Saturday construction noice was still there till 5pm

Manuel and his staff went above and beyond before I even arrived to the hotel. The entire stay they were friendly and exceptionally attentive. The hotel is very well kept. The facilities and staff by far exceeded my expectations!

The hotel is about half way between Ixmiquilpan and Tolantongo. It is a little out of the way if you are planning to spend multiple days at Tolantongo, but affordable and reliable transportation is available. It was worth the travel time for the value.
