We have been to the Bay Area many times, but this is the first time we stayed in Alameda. The accommodations were perfect, as was the neighborhood. We had a very good stay at Margaret and Paul‘s. We recommended this property wholeheartedly.

Perfect location! Easy access to the shops and restaurants and the ferry to San Francisco.
Every amenity has been thoughtfully arranged…bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and laundry! Nothing has been left to chance.
We have stayed in San Francisco and Sausalito many times in the past. This is a refreshing change! Loved the vibe, people and culture!

The propert was clean and cozy and recently updated qith modern amenities.
The location was perfect, and I was able to walk to Park street every evening after work.
Margaret was very communicative and accomodating.
I'll definitely be booking this place again for my next work or leisure trip to Alameda!

Enjoyed our stay immensely! It was our first time to Alameda. The place was spotless and comfortable. There was definitely an Art Deco 1930s feel with the decor. A walk in shower was much appreciated as we’re seniors. Wood floors were stunning. The owners responded in minutes when we needed something. Anything you need is within walking distance-a couple blocks. The walks were easy and we enjoyed seeing the gardens and yards. It’s apparent the people of Alameda work hard and love their community. We ate at a number of restaurants and were never disappointed. If I ever return to Alameda I will definitely stay there.

The owner was a pleasure to work with and so helpful with checking in procedures and timing. Margaret’s recommendations were spot on and incredibly helpful. I took pictures of her recommendation page for our kids that just moved to Alameda.

This was our 4th stay at this home. It consistently fills our needs. It is close by to where we want to be and we are comfortable here. The beautiful gardens are an added bonus.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Property is clean and nicely decorated. If you are visiting Alameda (or the East Bay) and need a nice homebase for 2 adults this place is worth checking out. Communication was clear and responsive. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Alameda.

This stay was as good as it gets for a VRBO rental. The house was *immaculate* in terms of cleanliness, and this may be my first VRBO trip where absolutely everything in the property was EIWO (everything in working order). It was a pleasure to work with the owner, and I look forward to coming back!

Spent this year’s annual girls weekend with two of my good friends in Alameda. This cute house is the perfect location to walk to local restaurants, and is an easy drive to Alameda Point and for a day in San Francisco.

We just returned from our stay and Margaret's home in Alameda. Beautifully appointed with all of the comforts of home. We stayed when there was unseasonably warmer weather, and the central AC worked very well to cool the home. The king sized bed was soft which we enjoyed, but those who prefer a firm mattress may not be as happy. Self check in and out was perfect, street parking a breeze and a quiet location we would highly recommend. Thank you Margaret!

This home is one of the nicest rentals we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Everything was top quality, from the kitchen appliances and cookware to the towels and bed linens. The king bed was very comfortable as was the sofa-bed as reported by our 12 year old grandson.
We never had a problem finding a place to park on the street, and it was only a 7 minute walk downtown to the shops and restaurants. It was about 30 mins over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco, depending on traffic, and Margaret had given us a heads up about getting the Fastrak for the tolls which made the trips go smoothly.
Margaret was excellent at communicating whenever we had a question and let us know when the WiFi was being repaired, which didn’t take long.
We would most definitely stay at this rental again if we're in the Bay area. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet and a nice respite at the end of a day of sightseeing.

We could have checked in a little early because owner messaged us that the unit was ready. Upon arrival, we found the space was even nicer than described. The high quality interior seemed brand new, and everything was so comfortable and handy. I can’t name anything that could have been better. Bed, bedding, shower etc were first-rate. Appears smallish on the outside, but the interior was very roomy. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and spotting fairy gardens and Little Free Libraries. Plenty of coffee shops nearby for my needs. We also went to Ole’s for breakfast twice in four days. We will be back.

Beautiful, comfortable property in a very convenient location. Easy walk to south shore beach or over to Park Street cafes and shops. Everything was as described. Lots of natural light. The kitchen counter was very suitable as a computer desk. Very comfortable bed. Great artwork! Excellent communication with host.

Bee-Friendly Garden
The art deco architecture and fittings are wonderful, but the flower garden and the bee hive in the tree hollow were what made this home really special.

What a great little rental! My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and comfortable with all the little amenities to make things easy especially with my baby like a playpen, high chair and Keurig for Mommy. The biggest draw for me though is the gorgeous garden surrounding the house...I woke up each day to a nice cup of coffee on the outside patio shaded by a fragrant plum tree. The neighborhood feels really safe and you are about a 5 minute walk from main street with restaurants and entertainment. Honestly just walking around this quaint little neighborhood is entertainment itself. I would definitely recommend this rental to a friend (actually I already have!)

Garden Beauty
This is our second stay at this beautiful space. It is so clean and comfortable and so close to so many things. Alameda is a lovely little city and has so much to offer.
