The condo is lovely and it was very clean upon arrival. Communication from our hosts was fantastic and they answered all our questions. We had everything we needed inside the condo for the beach and cooking for the week. There are grocery stores conveniently located and activities in the area.
Please pay attention to signage in the common areas about rules and expectations. There are people who live there full time and I witnessed some residents aggressively call out guests for not following those rules. They are easy to follow.

We were staying in the area to attend a music festival and this unit fit us perfectly! The unit was a little piece of paradise for our stay. Good location, quiet and peaceful. The furniture was comfortable, the amenities were nice. There was everything we would need to go to the beach or pool. Our hosts were wonderful to work with and made us feel right at home. The only thing I would change is to have stayed longer. We hope this unit is available the next time we come to the area but would understand if it isn’t. Thank you for making our stay so nice! We hope to be back soon!

The condo is very clean and exactly as advertised. Perfect location with beachfront access. It's a quick drive down to downtown Daytona. The sound of waves all day is awesome too.
Owners also had a binder with take-out menus for restaurants, and they were very helpful when we asked about a specific place to eat!
Definitely would stay again.

We were in town for a death in the family. This place was as advertised. Very clean and spacious for my wife and I and two adult boys. The location is great with beach front and access to Ormond Beach, Flagler Beach (and Daytona if you want). Unit has everything you need.
The best part is the sound of the waves crashing!

The beach view was wonderful! The condo clean and comfortable. It is quite dated, but very clean. Everything you need is in the condo. Plenty of towels albeit they are a bit worn. Easy communication with the owner.
I would definitely stay here again.

The condo was clean and comfortable, in a great location with beautiful ocean views. The owners attention to detail was amazing! The condo is equipped with just about anything you could need, including beach toys & chairs. My family enjoyed a wonderful vacation here and would definitely come back!

John & Linda are the most accommodating hosts. Their condo is clean, spacious with all the comforts of home. It was so nice to have beach chairs, beach towels and plenty of shower & hand towels available for use. The kitchen has everything you could need, including a coffee maker that features a carafe and single, k-cup pod. It is a family friendly environment, and I would go back in a heartbeat! This was not our first time staying at Ormond by the Sea but it was our first visit to the Van Lee. It was a very nice, quiet place located on the no-drive part of the beach. The closest life guard was about half a mile up.
The pool was kept clean as well as the hallways. The room was fine. The views from the balcony were good. The guest bedroom had two full beds which was great. The master bath is a little outdated but we aren't at the beach to spend time in the room anyway.
There were two elevators for fast service, plenty of carts to help you take your luggage and/or groceries to the room. Security is tight. You need a key to get into any door or gate. I tried to take the stairs up from the parking garage (you need a key to get into the stairwell). If you go to the pool, you need a key to get back into the building. Access to the beach also requires key entry to and from. I have to problem with safety but there were several times on the trip when the key wouldn't work and we had to walk around the building by beach access to get to the front door. Maintenance was pretty quick at getting it corrected each time.
Overall, the stay was excellent and I would definitely return again.

Ormond was the perfect place to start our summer vacation. The views were spectacular and the condo very comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out on the beach as it was not overly crowded. Owner was quick to respond to my questions and greeted us at the door to show us around. Plenty of beach toys and chairs to use and the kitchen was well stocked. Thank you for sharing your place, we would definitely come back.

We were greeted by our hosts and given a tour which was helpful. The condo was clean neat and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything needed including an electric mixer. We had no issues and we look to our stay next year !

The property was exactly as described. The balcony has the best unobstructed view of the ocean. It was a convenient place to stay while attending the Rolex 24 at Daytona but without the traffic. The only complaint was fireworks being lit on the beach behind the condos well after midnight one of the nights we were there. I think that was an anomaly because every other night was so quiet. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Everything you need on vacation. The condo had all bases covered, everything you could need for comfort and to enjoy your stay. There is a Publix close. Great beach area ,and pool area. I can't wait to bring my family back again.

Great location. Unit needs some TLC. Maintenance man was terrific when called to resolve issues. Have stayed in this unit before so was disappointed this time.

Best vacation in a long time
We made this reservation not expecting a whole lot different then the past.
But wow from the wonderful condo, pool, beach, surf and some locate restaurants it gets an A+! We had some unexpected financial issues arise before our trip and seriously considered canceling. But we are so happy we did not. We only wish it could have been longer!

Ormond Beach- The Van Lee
We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very nice. The pool was not heated so we really didn’t get to enjoy that very much. It would get shaded very quickly. Also as far as the property everything was good except the toaster was really slow and the toaster oven. Everything they had in the condominium was exactly what we needed. The owners were wonderful. May consider going back.

Spectacular Views
My family stayed in this lovely and well appointed condo during our family reunion. When not in the condo enjoying the beautiful sunrises and ocean views, they took advantage of all that Ormond Beach had to offer. They all plan to go back soon. All types of pots,pans,dishes and anything needed for cooking. Salt, pepper, spices along with plastic wrap, etc so didn’t have to run out and buy right away. Great area on the beach, clean and not crowded at all and quiet. Owners very attentive and even sent me an item we left behind. All in all a good experience.

Lovely stay!
My friends and I take a trip every year together and had to make a change to our location due to COVID. We stayed in this lovely condo for a week and had a terrific time. The unit was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. Having our own laundry was very handy. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the balcony. We found the building to be quiet, clean, safe and anyone we met was very friendly. John the owner was extremely easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any of my questions.

Vacation 2019
The property is beautiful and nested in a quiet part of Ormond Beach. Good restaurants just short miles away. The downsides of renting was we did not have a lot of room for our own stuff because the houses cabinets were filled with items you were welcome to use but sometimes you like to use your own. The neighbors in the building for the most part were friendly however you had a few that were just down right rude. You had to have a key at all times which was an inconvenience. Everything shut down at 10 pm which for vacation is on the early side but I would recommend this property and would likely go again. Owner was very nice and helpful. Thanks John. We gained lots of memories. Our first sea turtle sighting. Our first sea turtle nest sighting the morning after she laid her eggs. That is something we haven’t seen on the more crowded beaches.

Great location, friendly people!
Our family rented three condos in Van Lee, and were quite happy with our stay. However, the property has a few too many keyed locks, making it difficult for families to share keys. One of us was often locked in the pool area having to wait for another person to see their need of a key to either get out on the beach or into the lobby. Some units have a digital combination lock, and that would be a good idea for all doors, including beach and pool entrances.
Our condo had some issues with broken items but the owner was not aware and said he would have the items fixed. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, and gave us a tour of the entire building and property. All in all, it was a good affordable location for our family vacation.

Our family enjoyed the condo, only set backs were not having a heated pool. Kids were disappointed with that. And the neighbor was smoking cigars on the patio. (Yuck) Condo was clean and enough space for our 4 kids not to share beds. Some things were a bit outdated. But we didn’t spend much time there so it wasn’t a big deal at all. The view was amazing. And washer/dryer was a bonus too. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Dazzling But........
Positives,.....Dazzling view from the balcony, Yes it is Dazzling, King size bed, Extra Large two bedroom condo, Well-stocked kitchen, Washer and dryer, Underground parking, Manager available Monday through Friday, Condo located right on the beach, Publix half mile away.
Now for the not so good,..... The condo was picked up, but not clean, we left it cleaner than when we arrived. (I would hire a new service) The kitchen has been newly renovated with countertops and cupboards, but still has an old refrigerator, the same one I have, that is 25 years old. The living room furniture is old & stained, I had to put a sheet on the couch to sit on it and chose not to sit on the other furniture, which was already covered. (Because Covers were dirty). TV cabinet is an old pressboard cabinet that the glass doors were removed. Bathrooms are dated, although it does look as though they were recently painted. Master bedroom has a king size mattress, that’s the good part, the mattress pad has multiple stains, (yes, I changed the sheets before I left and noticed this) and the carpet has multiple stains.
To some it up,.....Some of this can be corrected from a new cleaning service, but some items need to be replaced.
Lastly, ........ I was told multiple times by the owner and have received two emails from VRBO, saying my large deposit has been refunded. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since our trip and I have yet to see it. This is the first time we used VRBO and have to say, we are a little disappointed with the overall service.
