Im Herzen des Russian River Wine Valley - Das Attic at the Red Chateau befindet sich im obersten Stockwerk eines alten Flusshauses mit eigenem Eingang. Beim Betreten fühlt man sich wie in einem reizenden Baumhaus im Wald. Mit über 600 Quadratmetern und modernen Annehmlichkeiten bietet der Raum einzigartige Winkel, interessantes Design, viele Fenster mit Blick auf den Wald und den Wasserfall, einschließlich der schönen, runden "Rundglasfenster". Obwohl kein Schloss und nicht mehr rot, ist der Name seit 1929 geblieben. Der Raum lädt dazu ein, sich mit einem Buch im Eckfensterplatz zusammenzurollen oder im Sitzbereich vor dem Kaminofen Wein zu trinken für die gemütliche Winterentspannung. In den wärmeren Monaten gibt es eine private Terrasse und einen nahe gelegenen Pfad, der Sie zu einem Sandstrand am Russischen Fluss bringt, wo Sie schwimmen, Kajak fahren und Sonnenbaden genießen können - ca. 7 Gehminuten durch den Steelhead Beach State Park. What a cool little spot - the unit is outfitted with everything you need, and nothing you don't need. The location is awesome, it's right near Steelhead Beach and a few miles from both Forestville and Guerneville. The unit does get a little hot being on the top floor, but a few fans and open windows make it perfect in the evening. Was even able to cook a few meals there. Absolutely 10/10 and will definitely return. Thanks Russ for the communication and assistance during the stay, can't wait to come back!

Just a lovely little place to stay. Russ was a perfect host. The Attic was perfect for the 2 of us. A great position and close to all amenities. Loved the decor and the outlook. So good that we are staying again in a couple of weeks.

The unit was immaculate! Very well appointed and updated. It is nestled in the woods but very close to River Road and downtown Forestville. It has everything anyone could need. We enjoyed our stay.

Look in any direction and you’re looking at the upper branches of trees. In addition, the patio areas around the house are full of beautiful and well-maintained potted plants and flowers. Great location for access to wine country or the sea coast. Russ is a friendly and helpful host.

The attIc was a small but quaint and cozy spot perfect for privacy and waking up to nature; birds singing and water brook flowing. The owner Russ was pleasant and welcoming and made himself available. Overall very pleasant stay.

Perfect place for a jump off point for the Russian River Valley. The Attic is nicely put together, cozy, and off the beaten path. Loved playing cards on the secluded deck.
Russ was quick to respond when we couldn't figure out how to access Netflix:) Hope to maybe someday make it to Russ's rental in Mexico. Highly recommend the Attic in the Red Chateau!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Attic nestled in the beautiful trees. Charming and eclectic. The views out every window we’re amazing! Location close to all the wineries. The one way street is a little crazy to get to the house so recommend checking in before dark. The recommendation for dinner at the Russian River Pub by the owner was greatly appreciated! The food was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our stay at the Red Chateau was absolutely magical. The spot is a perfect getaway for two. We went wine tasting, fine dining and cooked a few meals too. Sitting under the stars on the incredible patio was a highlight. We’ll be back in a few months and I know where we’ll be staying!

We had a lovely time at The Attic. It’s close to wineries, great restaurants, and the Redwoods. It’s an adorable place for two. We loved watching the trees sway outside the antique windows as we enjoyed our morning coffee. We will definitely be back!

VERY charming apartment with some very special amenities such as antique windows and view to the babbling waterfall. Host is very thoughtful and accomodating. One does need to take care with the steps inside the apartment.

The attic is the perfect size for 2 people, with a very small but functional kitchen. We were disappointed that basic amenities such as toilet paper and paper towels were not provided. I’m sure Russ would have responded quickly but we bought some at the store instead.

We knew very little about Sonoma County, so we had no idea how perfect this location is... easy access and so close to the well-known and lesser known super-cute towns, and only about 25 minutes from the ocean. Great restaurants everywhere, of course. And you can walk to a great little beach on Russian River from the house. Russ, the host, is great guy and a good communicator, so everything was easy. And the place itself is SO sweet. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, but practical, too. Bedroom has beautiful huge window looking out on trees and skyline. Bathroom is luxurious. We picked this place largely for the price and the "idea" of "the attic," but we got so much more. You will love it.

Just as described, this attic property is comfy and cozy. Bed is good, and roomy bathroom. It has lots of windows for light and views of forest trees. It is sized just right for 2 people. River is a close walk. Lots of wineries to explore nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at the château!
The heaters kept us warm during the chilly evenings and mornings. It was wonderful to have all the amenities for tea and coffee. It is a short scenic drive into Guernsville. Russ provided great recommendations for a variety of activities in the area. Very comfortable and relaxing stay 😌. Thank you Russ!

looking for a couple of days of quiet and calm? the attic is a perfect home base for a daytrip to see the redwoods, the russian river, out to the coast or to enjoy the many wineries sonoma has to offer.
i stayed solo, but couples welcome. it's a cozy atmosphere with romantic intent.
