Lovely clean room with great extras
Nothing

Good location. Really lovely staff.
It desperately needs updating, rooms and common areas are tired, faded, really noisy, I could hear the room below opening and closing drawers.
3.7
It’s was clean and friendly on reception and dining room
Rooms were ok but split on two levels and found this difficult
Location was good
Food menu in restaurant was very poor with hardly any choice
No bar snacks available in bar whilst having a drink
Service in bar was poor with not very friendly staff
Room wasn’t serviced on second day and had to ask for tea and coffee
No biscuits available in room
Car park charges are outrageous

The building from the outside looks nice
There are plenty of stairs, the carpets, furniture etc looked very used, I could not take shower in my room as the jet of water was too weak, the windows were dirty, the breakfast was insufficient - yogurt disappeared in minutes and did not refill, there was only one type of cheese, very little space for seating etc. The hotel is not very close to the centre, quite distant

Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly and professional staff. The check-in process was quick and efficient.
The room was immaculate and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Bonus for the Espresso coffee machine, which I loved it!
I requested a cot for my 1 year old and it was ready in the room upon olmy arrival! Honestly super friendly staff definitely recommend

Can not comment.
The hotel reception carpet was filthy also iron burn marks in our room on the carpet and filthy net curtains your feet stuck to the floor in the hotel bar.
3.7
Lovely decoration, clean and kept some of the history of the building in the walls!
3.7
Only the staff who were very polite
The hotel is aging. Carpets are either worn or filthy. Bedroom had a horrible smell when we entered our room 150. Bath too short.
Needs to be really updated. Limited choice on bar food when restaurant not open. Bar felt tired and in need of a makeover as well.
3.7
Thanks for the early check-in! My stay there was amazing, I love the decor in the reception and my room decor was spot on as well, the best thing to have in the room is the bathtub! I enjoyed the breakfast a lot with the variation of food.

Rooms were lovely and views were great.
The receptionist guy was very clear with all guests that they could not check in until after 3pm - hence at that time the queue of people went out the door and some people had to wait for more than 30/40 mins to get in their rooms. He was passive aggressive making it clear that the guests were foolish for not knowing the check in time. However, I have never stayed in a hotel where there is no flexibility and I have never seen this before and when a customer/ guest is tired and prefers to wait in the lobby to be made to feel as if they are idiots isn't a good way to start a break. It doesn't matter how great the rooms are but if the front of house taints the weekend it can totally create a negative feeling about a place. We won't stay again.

The hotel was in walking distance of the town and pier. The is also a nice underground parking garage with a few minutes walk along the front.
The room was smaller than expected, at the back of the building. It was quite noisy from 6am.
3.7
Excellent hotel! everythingwas perfect, the room, the stuff, the ambiance, the breakfeast. Will absolutely come back another time,
If I had to say anything; we had a superior room whith balcony/terrace, the decoration of the terrace could have been taken care of, maybe som flowerpots, sunbeds or nice chairs.
3.7
Location and distance to the sea.
Food could be fresher, a bit more choice added, more veggies and fruits. Also, was a bit surprised with the parking fee, as there was nothing about it in the advert and a hotel at this price and so prestigious as Mercury is, should offer parking - free of charge.
3.7
Location was on the seafront just by Hove lawns . Easy access to beach and seafront walk way .
Reception desk is tiny . Directions to rooms vague .
Room small with poor ventilation . Carpets stained . Bathroom and access to shower awkward if not slightly hazardous . Room was long way from reception on the third floor . At no point during booking in was I asked if we had issues that accessing our room may be a problem considering its location .

Comfortable clean room. Staff friendly and professional
wi-fi was terrible. Didn't work in lobby or the bedroom. Had to use my data all the time
3.7
Comfort, stylish bedroom, elegant hotel, kind profess staff, delicious breakfast, perfect location right next to the beach and the sea
The massive wait to be given access to our bedroom
3.7
Staff at the property were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was dated and the rooms needed to be refreshed - carpets were stained, splatters on the walls, etc.
3.7
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room was a bit run down, the curtains were dirty and the carpet was stained.

Beautiful hotel and interior
We booked a room with a “privilege “ room .. very disappointed to have two single beds pushed together . Very uncomfortable
3.7
Absolutely stunning location, modern yet kept its original charm! I think the receptionist was called barry, forgive me if I’m wrong! But give that man a bloody pay rise! he couldn’t do enough for us, constantly making sure everything was okay, and even late at night when we were too late for dinner, grabbing us plates and cutlery for our take away! Outstanding! Thank you very very much! Will stay again!
Absolutely nothing! Perfect weekend away!

Filthy bed

Great location, good breakfast, staff were lovely and helpful.
Room was very tired, stained carpet, black bits in shower tray...didn't use shower because this put me off. Reception carpet really, really tired and needs replacing. Beautiful building spoilt by terrible decor. We did get a peak at a superior room and it looked lovely.....however if you were paying the price for such a room the rest of the hotel ie reception, staircase, dining room, bar seriously let's it down. It's such a shame because the staff are so lovely.
3.7
Great location on the sea front. Our room had a perfect sea view, was fairly spacious with high ceilings and large windows. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to park in car park during our check-out day.
It’s an old fashioned conversion of an old sea front hotel so it’s a bit functional on the floors where the rooms are. Ground floor is nice and the restaurant overlooks the sea front. The plus far outweighs the minus.
3.7
The staff were excellent, Marta on reception was very helpful and really helped us out when needed.
The beach is outside and is perfect location.. A good 10/15 minute walk to all the good bars/restaurants on the seafront.
There was no air-con, just a fan that didn't do much.
The carpets were stained in our rooms and over 3 days we stayed - they weren't hoovered.
The shower nozzle kept falling off when we changed temperature and the toilet sounded like it was going to explode when we flushed.
The interiors are very old.
3.7
Great location, very nice reception from Barry. Parking was at the rear of hotel under cover and paid at reception. The room albeit small was well presented. All the staff were polite and helpful.
Breakfast was a full buffet or nothing, which was too much, there was a small bar breakfast menu that the staff didn’t acknowledge even existed, language barrier maybe. Our room was very noisy with doors closing from the corridor early morning, could possibly be fixed with seals?
3.7
the staff were excellent, Marta on reception was very helpful, the room was very clean, breakfast was good.
the hotel is very near the beach. Thank god for the air-condition.
The reception , and lounge, could be a bit updated eg, new carpet and s bigger reception area. not enough ramps for disabled customers.
3.7
room was large and comfortable
all good
3.7
Good location, lovely building
3.7
The hotel room had beautiful decor and facilities
The breakfast was £12 per head, so for a family of 3, being charged £36 for a standard breakfast is extortion!
3.7
Great hotel, great staff
Considering the cost, we felt the room to be very basic
