This is our 5th year renting Sol Shine. It is a great beach house for our family. It is pretty well maintained. We like that it is pet friendly. The charcoal grill downstairs was great to have. It is a great location, close to stores and restaurants. We always look forward to the fireworks and boardwalk for the kids. We love having the extra rooms downstairs for privacy for some family members. House is well equipped with enough seating, kitchen supplies, linens, and board games and puzzles. The deck has ample seating for our family. The dishwasher needs to be replaced. Management said that would be done this week. Everything else in great working order.

Our family (all adults) had a wonderful vacation at Sol Shine a few weeks ago! We loved being able to bring our dogs! The location was fantastic; we could walk to bars and restaurants, and of course, the Tiki Bar right on the beach is just steps from our house. There's an ice cream place just across the street, too. The Property Mgt company was great. I realized when I got home that I had left some bathing suits hanging on the back of the bathroom door, and they mailed them to me. The indoor and porch space was perfect for us, although there was not enough outdoor seating for everyone. The view is incredible, so we didn't mind standing up out there to hang out. We also appreciated having a second refrigerator in the garage as well as a nice washing machine and dryer. A few things to note:1. The spiral staircase is in a hot, creepy stairwell that leads from the upstairs to the garage. If going to the downstairs apartment from inside, you go down that spiral staircase that leads to the garage, then walk through the garage to get to the downstairs apartment. We LOVED the apartment, but we always used the outside stairs to go back and forth--even when it was raining. (Side note: we have a spiral staircase in our home and were not phased when we read about one being in this house, but this one is the tiniest one we've ever seen.)2. We had 8 people and there were only 7 forks. We washed dishes a lot.3. There are no beach chairs or umbrellas, so bring your own.4. The bunk beds are very uncomfortable. They may be comfy for small kids but not for adults. The other beds were all very comfortable, though.It was our first time visiting Carolina Beach, and we loved it! We'd definitely come back, and we'd stay at Sol Shine again, too!

We had an extended stay which allowed our children and grandchildren time to come enjoy the beach with us. The house is very accommodating for multiple actives happening simultaneously. Lots of room to lounge and sleep.The porch is outstanding with lots of chairs and a pleasant outdoor shower to get the sand off when you finish s inning. The only thing missing is a sleeping hammock!As others noted, the indoor showers are a bit small, but that is our only negative comment Eveything else was terrific..

This was my family’s second time staying at Sol-Shine. The layout of the house was perfect for our group of 6 (the last time we had 8 which also worked). The teens love having their own space in the downstairs apartment and the view from the kitchen/living room cannot be beaten. Our dogs are also huge fans of both the house and its close proximity to the beach.

Everything about this house was just right for our group of 5. The only complaints we had were that the lock box for the key was a bit difficult to open and the showers are really small. But location was perfect and overall property was very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed our time at this great location on Carolina Beach. Beautiful ocean views and close to a variety of restaurants, bars, etc. Location was close for a short drive to the NC Aquarium and a ferry ride to Southport, which made for a great day. House was comfy and we appreciated the private walkway to the beach to take our fur babies for daily strolls. Had a great view from the back deck for the New Year fireworks display at Kure Beach! Hope to return again soon -- had a great time at Sol Shine!

House was very clean upon arrival and so many amenities provided. Only issue was a piece of plastic was left in the oven for some reason and really stunk up the house when we went to cook dinner. The view from living room is fabulous. The living room could stand updated furniture. The kitchen was updated nicely with granite countertops and white cabinets and shelf’s. Bedrooms are on the small side and the bathrooms are even smaller than expected. Very hard for even a small person to take shower in hall bathe. If you are not up to climbing steps this is not the rental for you. The steps going from main level to lower level on inside are the spiral kind No going up and down those especially with any luggage. Nice that it had a garage to keep your car out of the weather. That was a plus. For the price you pay it could have had matching high quality towels and wash clothes. We seemed to get the mix matched leftovers. Also for the price you pay it could have more than one extra bag for the kitchen trash and recycles It should also have had extra trash can bags for bedrooms. We ended up using grocery bags. It would be good if they relocated the outside trash cans because the gnats and bugs it create came right into the house when door opens. They need to make sure to dust mop under the beds and furniture because there was dust and some dead bugs. Also need to dust ceiling fans. Having a washer and dryer was a plus. The walkway leading out to the beach was nice. Management was right on the ball when items that needed fixing were called in. Some were going to have to be scheduled to fix but what they could do they did. Other renters had called In some of the same issues but I was told it would have to be scheduled when not being rented.

This was our fourth year renting Sol Shine. It is a great beach house rental for our family. It is very spacious, clean, well equipped, and perfect location. We love the easy access to the beach and the owners take very good care of the house. We are already looking forward to our 2024 vacation there. Carolina Beach is a wonderful beach town...we always enjoy Thursday night fireworks, lots of restaurants for takeouts, nearby grocery stores, enough parking for our 3 cars, and lots of outside seating inside and on the deck. We had no need to contact the management company this year but in years past A1 has been quickly responsive if we had an issue.

We had a great week at Sol Shine - a very clean, well-maintained, updated oceanfront beach house with lots of space for our family of nine (seven humans, two dogs.) Fantastic ocean view from the large front deck, easy access to beach from house's walkway. Large, well-equipped kitchen, new washer and dryer. Short walk to the Ocean Grill& Tiki Bar, Veggie Wagon and other eateries. The only downside is the narrow spiral, staircase connecting the upstairs and downstairs, and close proximity to the house next door whose occupants blasted Lynyrd Skynyrd all hours of the night during our stay.

Our family loved our stay at this beach house. You can't beat the location - it has direct access to the beach, has several good restaurants across the street, and is within walking distance from the Carolina Beach boardwalk. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness in making it safe for smaller kids - it's not babyproof but incredibly safe for our curious toddler. Oh, and the Internet was blazingly fast. I had to work on vacation and had no issues using a virtual machine through my laptop, which is rarely possible on hotel or typical Airbnb WiFi.

We did have a couple good days...house was awesome...private access was great...dogs loved it as well...perfect week for a lot of back porch sitting...Fantastic views...we will return. Checkin process was seamless...directions to access everything was great. Could use a bigger grill!...That would be my only suggestion. Thumbs up!! Don't hesitate if you are looking for a nice place to stay...it won't last!!!

From photos, was a little concerned living space and dining table would be too small, but everyone was able to gather in den comfortably and we barely used the dining table since the was so much seating on decks and bar stools. Also appreciate all the starter paper goods .

Beautiful ocean front house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only reason for the one 4-star was that I felt during the off-season a fresh coat of paint and some very minor upgrades could have been completed. But that won't stop me from returning!

I have been renting homes in Carolina Beach for years and this was our favorite! It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We made most meals in the well appointed kitchen and loved having the beach only steps away. We traveled with 4 adults, 2 teens, 2 kids and 2 dogs, and the layout of the house was ideal. We gave my teen nephews the downstairs apartment and they could not have been happier. We will definitely be staying at Sol-Shine again!

The view from the main floor is stunning and pictures don’t do it justice. I loved that the house was well stocked for entertaining. Lots of serving platters and a big island for cooking. Easy and private beach access.

The property location was just beautiful. It definitely was $1 million view. Most of the beach house accommodations were adequate. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was set up fairly well. The only recommendation I would have for this rental is new shower stalls The water and water pressure was fine, but the shower stalls needed some updating.

The location is excellent. Right on the beach with your own boardwalk to the beach. Sun rises are breath taking!
The biggest disappointment was the lack of a working dishwasher. Also disappointing was the lack of supplies; soap, shampoo, paper towels, paper plates, fish liquid, etc.
The property manager told us about the dishwasher right before we arrived. They supplied us with some paper plates and plastic silverware but it was not enough to last for our stay. We had to buy more paper plates, toilet paper and paper towels. Also in the kitchen there was only one dish towel for a whole week and no dish cloths.
We had our Thanksgiving dinner and ate on paper plates. Not what we planned on. All week we used real silverware, glasses, bowls, pots and pans, utensils, etc. With 9 people, we were constantly washing dishes, which was a bummer. And we didn’t feel like the dishes were properly sanitized. There was only one bottle of dish liquid that was barely enough to get us through the week. And using a sponge to wash glasses and silverware was not very sanitary.
Overall we made it work and we had fun family time. But for what we paid for the week, we felt the property could have had more supplies. No soap in the showers was surprising to all of us. As well as the lack of enough toilet paper.

Our family had a wonderful time at Sol Shine! The property was clean and spacious and the back deck was awesome with a private walk way to the beach. The kitchen appeared to be well stocked with dishes/pots etc however we dined out most nights. Several restaurants within walking distance and there was a lovely guide with things to do. Our Thanks to A1 Property Management for making our visit enjoyable. They responded to our questions almost immediately and we’re delightful to work with. We would definitely stay again and recommend the property.

The house is perfect location privacy and amenities. It is beautifully decorated very comfortable and has everything that you will need for an awesome week at the beach. We were here in November and it was so great because there was barely anybody out on the beach so we felt like we had it all to ourselves. Such a relaxing week! Would definitely rent again!
