Good welcome, safe bike storage, ideal place for our trip, knowledge of local eateries, good breakfast. Bit like a Mary Poppins suitcase. Bugger on the inside.

There were a lot of stairs but can't complain. That's the building.

Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. Location was central with ample car parking at rear of the property. Welcome and hospitality was first class and we enjoyed our stay in this very interesting and tastefully furnished accommodation.

It's not a criticism but be aware that there are many steps/stairs to access rooms on upper floor ..(the style of the historic building) .. it may be challenging for those with mobility issues

1st class from taking my seat in the dining room I waited 5 minutes and I was served the most amazing breakfast ever thank you.

Check-in was a hassle. Despite having contacted the establishment a week prior to my stay to let them know that because of prior appointments I would be arriving after 7pm but before 10pm, and being assured that this was not a problem and that a key would be left in a designated place, and contacting them again on the day, there was no key waiting for me. It took nearly half an hour after several calls to and fro to gain admittance. Breakfast was prepared by a pleasant woman, sorry name unknown, the next morning. She was the only member of staff it seemed. Unfortunately breakfast although timely, was overcooked and dry. Despite the establishment being fully aware my stay was for business, upon departing I was asked for payment in cash. I declined as payment, in full, had been taken by Booking.com the previous day. I asked for a receipt and was told she did not know how to do this, As the trip was for business purposes and a receipt/invoice was needed. Despite several emails sent, and voicemails left, by me, and also by Booking.com., I only received the receipt/invoice 11 days later. While those on vacation may or my not need proof of purchase, for business travel it is a basic requisite. The reason I had not stayed in a hotel as I usually would have is that they were full given it was the height of the season, and the booking relatively late. Perhaps being able to secure a reservation at all at Bank Guest House was an indication of events to come. Caveat emptor?

I liked the fact that there was a sofa in the room so I didn't need to sit on the bed. Parking was behind the hotel, easy.
