Steep and narrow stairs to get to room may not suit everyone. Room felt a little cramped.

We were married at the West Lodge nearly 17 years ago which was a superb experience, so chose it as a place to stay while visiting friends locally (we moved away 4 years ago). Still charming and friendly, and so much better than a soulless chain. Comfortable room, nicely cooked and presented breakfast. Situated ideally for The Bell if you want an evening meal

Just what I needed a good value comfortable room for one night with excellent breakfast. Although the room was totaly fine for me it might not have suited someone of more generous proportions. Would recommend to others.

Hardly any sleep as shortly after taking another set of pain killers, about 4am, people were showering , flushing the loo and banging about. Everytime it went quiet and I started to doze off, the noise started again.

Parking is not easy in a van when other guests are already parked in the driveway

What an absolute gem of a hotel. It is a very sweet place and the gardens are a little bit of heaven, a real place of relaxation. Rooms are very clean and of the era for this hotel and had everything you needed. Being a small family business the service was exceptional and they really looked after you. If I am in the area again I would definitely stay here instead of a corporate soulless hotel.

Nice location & breakfast. A bird took a liking to my car & the team were very helpful in giving me water, a brush & cloth to clean it off.

It's not that we didn't like it but felt some of the decor was a bit dated and could do with refreshing. Also booked a twin room which had a double & single - my friend found the single to be smaller, in width, to a standard single room.

Room Cross open garden so exposed walking to it. Shower very small for size of bathroom. My husband i found it challenging.

Good location, excellent breakfast. Duvet on the bed was a bit too heavy for me so didn't sleep that well.

Great welcome and shown around on arrival, we booked a double and single and were put next to each other. Good size room with everything we needed. Great selection of food for breakfast as well as a lovely cooked breakfast.

The breakfast was Lovely, service was lovely and all needs catered for. Nothing was to much trouble, lovely surroundings Very peaceful. I was a lady on my own and made to feel very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I would opt for a downstairs bedroom, but once up the stairs I was fine. I am use to a bungalow 🙂

although the room had all facilities, the shower had poor pressure, and the toilet was in the same room at foot of bed. £45 would be a more fair price for this particular stay.

Stayed in Lodge section to rear of building, was a nice sized room & bathroom. Bed was comfortable Breakfast was very good and there were a lot of options.

Not a major thing but the tv in the room was quite small, didn"t affect our stay at all.
