Seen this hotel so many times, and we decided to stay on a recent visit back to sanlucar de barrameda and it was fab. The view day and night (as it was Christmas and the town was all lit up) was great. The sun shinning as well was bonus as it was warm!

The only thing that could have been better, we asked on the morning after going down stairs was breakfast as we were directed into the Irish bar - when really we found out afterwards the restaurant served a buffet breakfast. Apart from this we couldn't fault the hotel.

Our room was exactly as we expected. We were very happy with the facilities. Breakfast self service and again what you would expect for the price.

Poor soundproofing. Could hear everything in the corridor and particularly in the next room, as this hotel always has a connecting internal door between pairs of adjacent rooms.

Disappointed with the level of cleanliness in the bathroom. Disappointed with the bed linen. Bed was comfortable. Sound insulation very poor. Could hear adjoining guests from bedroom. The hotel bedrooms are not considered to be of 4* quality.

Great location, staff are great, but be advised that in this part of Spain English is spoken less than in Madrid and Barcelona. Most of the staff were not bi-lingual or knew only very basic English. That said, they were very helpful. The rooftop bar was a great amenity. Come have a drink or coffee and dessert, and watch the sunset from here even if you are not staying at the hotel!

Internet in room was weak to non-existent. Lobby wasn't much better. If you need internet while on your stay, you may run into problems.

Lovely stay, with a lovely view of the city. The rooftop bar is beautiful. Beds made every day and air con is good. Brilliant location and good value for money.

We had a small balkony with view to the long pedestrian avenue from the old center to the beach. The rooftop bar is great! Parking was possible in the public parking, just underground in front of the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised from the hotel and especially the area with families, beaches, bars, nightlife - like before Covid. Should have stayed a few days.

Nothing went well.

When we arrived, the man at reception was surly. I said Hola, gave him our passports and your confirmation em, showing Conf.3301094937 pin 1995. He said he couldn't find that we were booked in, so just left us at reception., dismissed. A younger woman receptionist helped, spoke good English, and after she conferred with him, she said our room was not ready. So we put luggage in a locked room and went for lunch. I asked her to ring our Spanish mobile when the room was cleaned. An hr. went by, no call. So we went back to hotel, he ignored us. She this time didnt seem to know who we were, and we went through all process again. I asked the man if the room was ready, he didnt answer me, but phoned someone., then he SAT down , with his back to us, and didn't tell us what was going on. We were on a sofa right opposite him. So we sat and sat, and eventually I asked again, was the room ready, he gave us a cursory hand motion to go to him (never spoke) then asked us for our passports, then sat down again. , and we were dismissed.,, again. Never told us whether our room was ready or not, so the woman tookover and gave us our room swipe card, and that was it. I said "what about our luggage that YOU locked away". She took us to the luggage room. THEN when we got to our room, it must have been available for ages, (we are very well travelled and know rooms). Nothing was damp or wet, not the floor, sink, bath etc., not a drop of moisture anywhere----so the room had been cleaned AGES ago !!!! Will never go to this hotel again., it put a very bad start to our first holiday since lockdown. Hotel Barrameda is the BEST hotel ever.
