Parking is a bit tricky

The apartment seemed newly refurbished to a very good standard. It was warm, clean, comfortable and had a fabulous view of the promenade and sea. There was even a giant hot tub that we did not know about so, unfortunately, could not use as we did not take bathing suits. Although there is no parking, there is a pull in to unload and load your suitcases etc. We would have been very happy to stay for a week or two, it was so nice and had everything you could possibly need in a home from home.

The directions/address was misleading as it states no. 54 Terrace Rd, which is not correct. Fortunately, the hotel where we picked up the keys helped us locate the right address. There wasn’t anything we did not like really. I felt my pillows were a bit lumpy and cheap but I do not know if this was for all the beds. I would suggest a couple of additions for the en suite bathroom, a blind for privacy at the window plus some hooks on the walls either side of the shower would be useful to hang towels up. There is a lot of wall space and it is a very big bathroom, so this should not be an issue.

Did not stay at the four seasons Hotel but were due to stay in one of the Grosvenor apartments just down the street that are owned by the same terribly abusive aggressive owner. He called at 1pm to say the apartment was no longer available and offered a cottage 10 mins,by car, away from the town centre. I called him back 30 mins later to decline his offer and requested a refund. He started shouting and continued to shout, interrupt, swear and totally refused to give a refund. After a 13 min conversation he put the phone down on me!! His parting words were “I will never refund you” Have since discovered that he does this regularly!! Avoid at all costs. For a hotelier and business man to rant and shout in that manner to a paying customer is disgraceful. Wish I had read the trip advisor reviews before I booked.

Decor good. Nice surprise of an upgrade

Could have had more kitchen utensils. There was no slice to use to make fried eggs etc, which is prob why the frying pans were scratched. I was also surprised to find no welcome box of groceries at all. Some milk and bread would have been great. Nothing fancy.

On arrival on Thurs 1st, our group were not given our booked accommodation (5 beds ) and put into different Apt so never got to stay in Apt 2 Grosvenor Hse, reception were not aware of this this until I called on Fri to request a fifth bed as per our original booking, very disappointing on behalf of reception and booking.com!!!!! I feel we should be due a partial refund for Thursday 1st Sept as Booking.com and Accommodation did not fulfill our original booking.

Very friendly staff at the hotel where we picked up the keys. They were happy to help when I called later with a few questions.

The host was available to resolve any issues straight away and did so regardless of cost. Friendly staff and an incredible location.

The apartment we booked the 3 bedroom APT 2 , and phoned to confirm on booking but despite this it was allocated to another party. Having arrived early 12:30 and again confirming our arrival we were advised check in was after 3pm so happily parked up and went for lunch. We came back to collect the keys and were given the keys to APT 3 instead that was a 2 bedroom apartment - this was not suitable for our party size and also was without the sea view. Having spoken to the owner who thought we should make do - or leave - or travel to a cottage - which we couldn't anyway as we could not drive having had just a drink with lunch....... he really didn't appear bothered either way as it was a non refundable booking !! We were eventually given an apartment and a room in another one of his houses (Edleston House) nearby, at this point we had no option other than accept what was available - The property was nice but dirty, general debris including crumbs all over the work surfaces, table and floor and especially underneath the raised sofa which looked like it had never been moved and cleaned. Obviously this wasn't intended for us and so some of the cleanliness may have been due to a lack of preparation - which would be in line with the attention to detail and preparation for our arrival. It was such a shame that the customer service and attitude rendered this stay a shambolic experience that I have never encountered whist travelling in either the UK or abroad. When you book a 3 bedroom apartment with a sea view, and have the decency to call and confirm at the time of making the booking that the property is adequate for your party - expecting that the proprietors have ensured property is available for you having taken your money for the booking is surely not too much to ask. Wont be going again !!!!

Only 1 key supplied for a flat for 6 people. A lot of stairs to get to the top floor.

Good location. Plenty of room. Comfy beds

Curtaiin in lounge hanging off the rail. No tea towels of dish cloth. Windows were so dirty. No light bulb in standard light in lounge. Bedside light in downstairs bedroom dangerous. Broken dining room chair which could have been very nasty.

It was not the apartment I had booked, but was about the same size and in a building nearby

Great location right in the Seafront.

Could have done with some nicer soap ! And toilets and shower downstairs not that clean .
