Central to attractions, allot of space and very clean. The farm was a bonus and the pub is easy walking distance and good food and drinks.
No major issues

The cottage is situated on a working farm (livery) in a beautiful part of the countryside and is very easy to get to. On arrival the milk, butter, bread, wine and flowers were a lovely welcoming touch. The cottage was much less sparsely furnished than the advert indicated making it a warmer and a more comfortable space to use. Wifi is provided and the hdmi sockets on the TV for a Fire Stick were accessible and working. The kitchen had plenty of cutlery and crockery, not the usual meagre one of everything for the exact number of guests. All of the appliances were clean, working and easy to use.
The bathroom was spacious and well fitted out. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable.
The little seated area next to the cottage was a small and intimate place to go outside and watch the horses and their owners go by and to just relax. We even got to see a Farrier shoe one of the horses.
There is a quaint, friendly pub just down the road and some good eateries close by.
Lavender cottage would be the perfect retreat if you do not need to rely on a phone signal. If we do not need to be on hand for others, we would definitely go there again.
The main observation was that there was no phone signal at all, although WiFi is provided. This is absolutely perfect if you wanted to get completely away from the world, but we needed to be on hand for emergency calls. The lack of phone signal was not made clear at all in the blurb.

Excellent Location for us. Most interesting base on a Working Farm + Livery. Our second visit so this is a good endorsement. Hosts kind and engaging.
No negatives

It was peaceful and relaxing on a working livery. Well-appointed and equipped. V pleasant surroundings, easy access to all the Peak district.

It was a lovely cottage on a farm. clean and good location.
there was no hot water for the whole of our 3 night stay and they couldn't fix it until Tues after the bank holiday which we found a little crazy!! We had to boil water to wash. we had a partial refund when we got home.

Very welcoming & friendly. Cottage clean, comfortable & well equipped. Liked the added bonus of tea, coffee, milk etc being provided. Lovely location. Ideally placed for visiting local areas of interest.
4.5
Really lovely little property with a welcome package of bread, milk and wine, nice and quiet. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom, and the instructions for finding it were spot on. Incredibly clean and tidy.
We arrived after dark so it might be nice if the property had a name plate on/by the door, such a minor thing since on the whole it was absolutely fantastic but it would make things feel less like taking a chance you'd got the right one and weren't trying to break in to another cottage! :)
4.5
Well appointed, cosy little cottage finished off with personal touches to make it an ideal choice for a weekend break for a couple. Located close to the Peak District with easy access to local amenities including great walks and good pubs (try out the village pub for the best cheese platters). Hosts very welcoming and knowledgable around the local area. Plan to return.
Not much to dislike. Only challenge if you do need to make contact with the outside world is that there is limited phone signal in the valley - wifi available but slow and patchy. Faster broadband speed in the cottage would be helpful (if available).

The cottage was beautiful, really clean, comfortable, very peaceful and homely. I would have loved to stay longer. Very friendly farm workers. Difficult if you don't have a car but if you drive then it's an ideal location to get to Hope Valley, Chesterfield and Sheffield.
A word of warning if you don't have a car - taxis will take you back there but it's difficult to get one to pick you up from the cottage. The buses only go to Hope Valley/totley train station on weekends. They're infrequent but reliable. You can walk for an hour and a half to Dore and totley station. It's a good idea to close the curtains while you're out in the day in summer - it gets hot!

Plenty of room, light and airy. Quiet location. Good wifi. Nice welcome of bottle of wine.
2 minor suggestions. Instructions for appliances would be really helpful. Hair dryer would be appreciated. No mobile reception but just a minor inconvenience for us.

Great location for exploring the area, roomy and quiet cottage, and great host and farm tour from William
Hot water ran out one evening.

Loved the interior, modern & minimalist, clean & comfortable, good Wi-Fi, all on one level for my disabled husbands access. Personal touches were an unexpected treat, flowers, bottle of wine, bread, milk and butter greatly appreciated. To wake up in the morning with the sun streaming through the windows and see the horses being led in from their field was beautiful. we would recommend without hesitation this sweet little compact cottage.
Absolutely nothing, it was a perfect home from home for us. Lovely to relax in after our journey down from the Scottish Borders.

Excellent location and very comfortable cottage. Just what we hoped for.
Lack of mobile phone signal within the house, though the wifi worked OK.

Cottage right at the farm with horses and cows - very entertaining for little ones.
Loads of hiking trails around and quick access to Peak District NP.
Pub walking distance away from the apartment. Great pies!

well stocked for self catering and convenient location.
no wifi or mobile signal and could have been cleaner

Fabulous cottage on a working farm. Beautiful location. The cleanest property I've ever rented. Well done to the housekeeping team!!
Super fast communication with the owners, who were very obliging. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely quiet location , central heating as it was wet and chilly at times.
More china & cutlery to allow dishwasher to be used- we had to keep washing up by hand.
None of it matched which was a shame

Great facilities and great location
Bed was uncomfortable

Description doesn't do the cottage justice! The kitchen and bathroom are really well fitted and the water pressure on the shower is amazing!
I had no phone signal, but the wi-fi (included) was fine.
Once you're here, there's a lot of different nature walks to be found just a short drive away. Rivelin Valley in particular is beautiful, with waterfalls and pools to paddle in.
This is a brilliant place to come to unwind.

Beautiful little cottage, exactly what we wanted. Great location, near all the places we wanted to visit. I'd highly recommend the cottage.
Slightly odd that though there was plenty of hanging space in the bedroom, there were no drawers at all - so we had to use the ample drawer space in the living room for most of our clothes.

Good location for gateway to Peak District. Free parking. It was cosy and warm. Had all facilities and more. Nicely decorated. It is modern yet has the deco of a cottage. We loved the roof windows. It’s spacious and very bright. Easy to find. Well equipped. Thank you for all essentials: milk, bread butter and wine 🍷. There was a very good info binder. Also we asked for wi fi password and it was promptly provided. The host came by to say hi and see if we needed anything. Good atmosphere. We felt very welcomed. Thank you very much!
We loved everything about it.

Perfect location for visiting the Peak District. Cottage was immaculate, had all we needed for our stay. Full kitchen but plenty of places deliver if you want to order in.

The cottage was an ideal retreat for a couple. The original building had been converted exceptionally well, so the property manages to be cosy and yet feel airy and spacious at the same time. We were very comfortable here. Our main reason for booking was the location, to enable us to meet up with family in several places, so we didn't see as much of the surrounding countryside as we would normally like, but are very tempted to go back and do some walking locally - we had a lovely moonlit walk through the village on out first night. The location is quiet in the evenings, but with tantalising glimpses of activity in the stable yard opposite during the day. It was nice to have a proper well equipped kitchen where I could cook without any hassle. The bathroom also was of a very high standard, with plenty of space for our wash bags. We didn't see a lot of the owners, as we were dashing about so much, but they made a point of stopping for a friendly chat and checking that we were happy. Highly recommended.
Absolutely can't think of anything!

Location lovely, we didnt have breakfast.
Nothing, it was perfect.

The cottage was lovely and cosy . Great location and friendly and accommodating hosts. It was lovely seeing the horses on the farm . It would have been nice to have a 10 min ride one one 😊 lol
I felt the all other facilities were great but a larger sofa to relax on would have been better. Some flies in the house where a annoyance and we attempted to get them out but couldn’t .
