Über diese cottageUnterkunft
Beautiful Cottage Full of Art & Atmosphere

The cottage is just so special and beautiful, we just loved it. It's close to town and there are a lot of things to do in the area.
Thank you Denise for the warm welcome and looking after us.

We chose this cottage in the country to experience the local towns, people, the food, & history. We rented a car & used the cottage as base. Each day we drove to a different castle or locale.Even the Cliffs of Moher was a day trip. Roscrea village was close for groceries. Denise & Joe were very friendly, helpful, kind, & wonderful hosts. Loved all the decor, books, location & Denise’s Irish soda bread was YUMMY! Highly recommend. Debbi & Perry

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greenville. The cottage is situated in a quiet, very green location, the only thing you'll hear are Irish rain, and occasionally cows or when the lovely canine co-hosts Mandjar and Venice demand your attention. At the same time it's also close enough to make it a base for interesting day trips, we went to Kilkenny, Cashel, the cliffs and Limerick. The next shopping opportunity is in Templemore, approximately 10 mins by car. Also, Denise is an absolute treasure, she brought us home-made bread and artisan cheese and messaged us regularly to make sure everything was alright. The cottage itself is also very interesting, I never stayed in a house like this and it was quite fun to figure out the little quirks that come with it, for example how to properly shut the capricious doors. The beds are very good, there are tons of info material about the tourist attractions nearby and Denise also has a lot of tips. Long review short: We loved the stay and I'd recommend Greenville to everyone who wants to stay in a unique place that's also way quieter and has more soul than a hotel in a big city.

Denise is a beautiful, friendly, considerate and very welcoming landlady. Her home baked Irish breads are fantastic. We were there ten days and she baked bread for us on three separate days as gifts. Absolutely delicious. We won't hesitate in staying at her beautiful self contained property again. Any future stays in Tipperary, she will be our first port of call. Thanks Denise, you are amazing.

I’ve always wanted to stay in a thatched cottage, and this delivered! I’ve also wanted to experience life in rural Ireland. Denise was wonderful in pointing us to authentic places, walks and experiences that we’d never be able to find elsewhere. This two week stay was fabulous.

Quiet and rustic
Lovely old cottage with nice features and quirky ornamentation. It is lovely and quiet and it was nice to sit outside and hear nothing. Complete silence, could not even hear any cars. Great location for getting about too, close enough to the motorways. Cottage could be a bit chilly as the weather wasn't the best but I guess that's getting used to a different style of living. Only comment was it could have been cleaner. Although the spiders are a part of the furniture it was a little dusty, but that's a minor blemish. We'll worth he cost of staying.

This was like staying in a museum. So unusual. Great hosts.

Old Style Cottage
Quaint cottage in peaceful setting. Denise welcomed us with lovely bread and cheese. They were quick to make some changes to the cottage that needed attending to (new toilet seat and door lock). Other than that, quiet.

Traditional cottage with 'mezzanine' second bedroom. All facilities adequate. The charm of the cottage lies in its eccentric mix of modern art and shabby chic decor. There are family mementoes, books, bric a brac etc everywhere! The owners live next door and are very caring and helpful.

Nice break away
This is a warm and friendly cottage to stay in that is unique with its thatched roof, interesting art, and a loft styled fun bedroom for the older child, teen or adventuresome adult. The main bedroom is spacious with a very comfortable bed. The sitting room is comfortable with a cozy fireplace, generous sofas and a dining area. It's old cottage styled living with enough conveniences of the modern day such as wifi, fridge freezer, cooker and generous sized bathroom. We enjoyed our stay as it gave us a nice base to do some local hiking and exploring in nearby areas including the Devil's Bit mountain and a few other walking/hiking areas.

Sehr freundliche und fürsorgliche Vermieter. Das von Denise selbst gebackene Brot schmeckt hervorragend. Der Ofen erzeugt eine angenehme Atmosphäre.

We chose Greenville due to its central location. Everything, major attractions are between 30mins and 2 hours away.
From North to South and East to West, so much history, so many sites.
Greenville was everything and more than expected with 2 fabulous hosts who are willing to advise and help at every juncture.
After busy day trips the cottage was the perfect place to unwind, chill with a beer or wine, in the knowledge that you will have an undisturbed sleep, in a perfect tranquil location. Surrounded by farmers fields.
Certainly recommend to any couples who want a nice quiet break.

Very cozy country cottage
We enjoyed our stay at Greenville cottage very much. Denise and Joe were fantastic hosts. The cottage is beautifully decorated and you can feel the love that was put into it.
We were supplied with plenty of amenities for our 9 day stay. Denise was kind enough to have a soda bread, a pint of ale and cheese for us upon our arrival.
The cottage was a great central location for us to make day trips everyday.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a central location to call home while in Ireland for an extended period of time.

Country stay
We spent 4 nights, centrally located in the Irish countryside staying in an 1850's thatched roof cottage. Our host, Denise, provided us with freshly baked bread, local products and a wealth of knowledge about the the local area. It was an enjoyable experience for us.
Thank you so much.

A Thatched Roof and Much Much More
How many people can say they have stayed in a thatched roofed cottage? Our 5 day stay was wonderful! Denise and Joseph could not have been nicer and more helpful to us! Denise and Joseph welcomed us with delicious Artisian soda bread, cheese, and ale. The cottage is remodeled with lovely art work, furnishings, and a chandelier in every room! To top it off, they have two beautiful and sweet golden retrievers! We loved our stay in this uniquely wonderful cottage!!

It met all our expectations and more. Loved it.
Our stay at the thatched cottage was a real treat with history surrounding us in decor, antiques and a renovated couple hundred year old cottage.
Joe and Denise were wonderful hosts and were very responsive to our needs and offered helpful insights to the area.
I would highly recommend this holiday cottage and would love to return.

Greenville Cottage is a quaint thatched roof cottage in Tipperary. It is very inviting and has a nice homey feel. The art work is nice and the Indian door with I believe Ganesh prominently featured. The cottage is very nice, with stone floors and an loft. There are plenty of literature on local attractions, The cottage is very well appointed. Denise and family were very welcoming and polite.
The complimentary welcome loaf of homemade soda bread is appreciated and delicious, We ate it all. The complimentary small wheel of local cheese and a sampling of local beer were also delicious and welcomed. We didn't get to spend much time here during the day as we had an ambitious driving schedule that brought us back very late at night. It is easy to find and you are close to multiple towns that had any necessary services.
The wi-fi was bit slow but again we weren't there a lot for it to have been an issue.
We had a an enjoyable time and would recommend this beautiful Irish cottage to anyone who would like an pleasant host(family) and an authentic with modern touches cottage experience,

Quirky and comfortable, a lovely cottage with plenty of character
We stayed here for 3 nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. On arrival we were met by Denise who was very welcoming. Denise had baked a soda bread which was very tasty. We were also supplied with cheese, butter and a bottle of ale. As we were on a busy schedule we did not spend our days at the cottage just our mornings and nights. Denise kindly offered to warm the property every evening which I thought was a lovely gesture. We found the cottage had plenty of character, comfortable beds and everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely recommend a stay and hope to return in the near future. Thankyou Denise x

Peace and quiet in the lovely countryside.
This was the perfect place for me. Peace and quiet. Serene atmosphere with birds singing and cows mooing. I think I even heard a donkey somewhere! The cottage was clean and had everything you need to set up a home away from home. Denise and Joeseph were kind, gracious and delightfully generous with fresh bread waiting for me and local butter, local cheese to die for and a bottle of a local ale. Makes me not want to leave! I would highly recomend this quaint Irish cottage with a peat fire waiting for you to be a base for your journeys around Ireland.

Arriving on a cloudy afternoon after a two hours drive from Dublin airport we instantly fell in love with the cottage as we turned into the yard. Its a bit off the road leading from Roscrea to Templemore but Denise's description made it easy to find.
Soon as we scrambled out of our rental car Denise opened the door and welcomed us with a wide smile and a warm hug. She quickly showed us around the cottage and explained how to handle this and that. Of course there was a warm loaf of her fantastic soda bread along with a lump of butter sitting on the table in front of the warm oven.
The cottage was even more beautiful and unique as the description and the pictures on the homepage promised it to be. There are so many lovingly placed pieces of art and history it leaves you breathless. Though it must be a hell to keep the dust off all of that it was absolutely spotless. The cottage quickly became our home and we loved to get back to it after our day-trips that took us all over the north-western part of ireland.
Situated in the heart of ireland the cottage is the ideal base to go on day trips to explore most of the green isle. Most places are no more than a 2 hour drive away and you can easily be there and back again in a day. During our two weeks stay we never ran out of places to visit, in fact we might have needed another two weeks to cover only the most prominent ones.
Denise and Seosamh are simply amazing hosts. They did their very best to make us feel at home and they did a very good job. They provided us with lots of hints and tips on what to see and how to find it.
We will definetly be back for another great time in irelands rural midst.

Simply Beautiful!
A slice of paradise in the middle of the country. Strategically located for day trips. We looked forward to returning each evening to relax in front of a burning fire with a glass of wine. Owner was terrific and went the extra mile to make us feel at home.

Denise and her husband are marvelous hosts, in this charming thatched cottage. It is filled with eclectic art, and is situated down a small lane in a natural setting among hedges and fields. The Irish soda bread is first rate - yum! This is a nice spot to just relax away from town life, but it is also only about 10 minutes drive from Templemore where you can get meals and do grocery shopping. We used it as a home base to explore much of Co. Tipperary as well as Laois, Kildare, and part of Limerick. Good value!
