Outstanding service and room. Breakfast was class.

What a unique and wonderful stay we had at the Golden Eagle. Rooms are above the pub (but we had no noise issues). The room and bed we comfortable, the breakfast was really good, and the conversations with the bartender, the owner, and the waitstaff were great. Nice people in a quite location just off a main road through Chester. Stay here!

Great location in the city centre. We stayed on a Saturday night and it was quiet, with the pub being up a little side street. Quaint room, comfy bed and very cosy. We chose the Continental breakfast and it was excellent. Would highly recommend staying here.

A fabulous quirky little gem of a pub. Breakfast was amazing and my gluten free needs were fully catered for.

If you're happy staying in a friendly pub, convenient for walking around Chester, then definitely consider the Golden Eagle. The room itself was a good size, clean, with a decent shower room, with its own individual decor. It's not a clinical hotel chain sort of place - it's what you'd expect from a pub - so expect to be able to hear the background noise of a bar if you're in your room at night. But it's a pub with character and we enjoyed a drink when we returned from eating out. Breakfast was good - you have a choice of cooked or continental, and they like to know the night before so they can serve you it at the agreed time in the morning. Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely pub itself with great selection of beers, comfy armchairs to relax in too. The breakfast was the best we’d had in Chester (full English). Tuesday was also steak or burger night, cooked to perfection. Our room (no.1) was spotless and comfortable. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Definitely will stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Golden Eagle. Friendly and accommodating staff- thanks Martin for carrying our bags up, and very nice meals, helped us have a terrific start. The pub is so close to the town, the wall and the museums, that everything was easy to get to. Breakfast was bespoke to our needs and was top class. Thanks.

The Golden Eagle was in a great location. We stayed overnight in a double room. It was a lovely room with character and nice decor. The bed was comfortable and the room and en-suite was spotlessly clean! The only negatives was, it was just a tad too dark with low lighting but restful all the same.The pub below was great, full of character, quaint and a pleasure to drink in. The landlord and landlady who ran the property and pub were really friendly! The breakfast that was included with the room was Amazing! It was a full English breakfast with a lovely vegetarian option and plenty of coffee!

Lovely old pub in a perfect location for all the Chester attractions, including the race course. Room was comfortable, but cold. In fairness to the owner, we could have moved rooms, but we expected the room to warm up once the heating was on. The breakfast was excellent along with the hospitality. Would recommend.

Lovely and comfortable room, the record player complete with records was a wonderful surprise! Absolutely perfectly situated for getting into the centre and staff were fruendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic location for the races, shopping or dining out, Martin and all the staff always happy to help if we needed anything and very friendly, we loved the room we stayed in, it was immaculate and the decor was different to any other hotel which made it so special, the breakfast is excellent will definitely be back soon Danny + Nia

Good value for money. The bar is quirky and we loved the decor. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. The room was a little tired, and there was some noise from the bar below, as to be expected, but none the less it was a very enjoyable stay.

The pub was very friendly but old and outdated which was the intended look I think - the room was small and darkly decorated in keeping with the overall vision but it was clean - However the bed depicted in the advertised photo is an old iron bed ….which even to sit on creaked and was noisy - hence every time you turn or move position you are wakened by the bed frame noise. The mattress was comfortable though. Landlord was very accommodating and friendly and breakfast was a hearty start to the day. A clean oldy worldy pub in a good position up a side street away from the bustle and noise of the main road yet close to amenities

Comfortable and clean accommodation. Attentive and friendly hosts. Church chimes started early Sunday morning! Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend, great value for money
