A great stay, although ruined by another guest who drank a little to much and was very loud at night time. Showers and amenities plentiful. Highly recommended for the price!

Great place to stay in kyoto. Great location to all the tourist spots. Bed is comfy and clean

It is a 49mn walk from Kyoto train station. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Some spoiled brats were on my floor. They were noisy, dirty and no class whatsoever. I called the front desk on them to put some order. Other than that, I loved the location. Food, shopping, temples, shrines etc.... It's THE spot.

Amazing hostel with lovely staff who go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. 10/10!

Awesome staff, wonderful people who stood there and right next to public transportation with a nice rooftop view. 10/10 would stay here again, Thanks!

You’re in Gion so you’re in the heart of things in Kyoto. Easy walking from the capsule. I had stayed two weeks before and loved it but this time out I thought it was just ok. Stayed in the fourth floor and is very different from the second floor which I had stayed before. Weird.

For a capsule it’s very well run. The beds are great and everything is close to where you’re sleeping.

They insisted on keeping bright lights on in pod sleeping area till 12 am whuch boggles the mind. I dont think the manager was all that bright.

I hesitated writing this because it’s such a gem of mine when I’m in Kyoto, but hey I’m not greedy and 5-stars everything and in the heart of it all! Most of all amazing staff and lifelong friend in the manager, Kenji! Arigato!

Easily the best and affordable option especially if you plan to go solo. Staff was extremely friendly and You’re given a tour. You’re a 3 minute walk from a shrine and around 10-15 minute walk from the shopping strip if you want to look at high end designers or anything in between such as gifts or food. The floor I was on was quiet for the 2 nights I stayed. Bathrooms are public bathroom style so don’t expect much privacy if people walk in to brush their teeth or skin routine. They do have a tiny bar and a small hang out lounge. Check out the roof especially at night to see how beautiful Kyoto is.

Staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to help you out. I had an especially pleasant conversation with one of the staff trying to figure out what the good places to visit were nearby.

The bathroom (the room with a bath and not a toilet) had lots of smallish specks of mold. Everything else was good or fine. Service tried their best to communicate with me in English to varying effectiveness. The room was large and comfortable and honestly had more amenities than I had time to use which is quite nice. I was confused about where I could walk with shoes at first, and it appears that you can walk anywhere in the lobby with shoes on.

Nice & friendly staff. But If you can’t live with noisy you should use an ear plug.

Tsukimi Hotel is a very modern-looking hotel with great amenities and a friendly staff. The pod area was exceptionally quiet given how many people were sleeping there in any given night, and the showers/bathrooms were always very clean. My only gripe was that there weren't locks available to secure your luggage, so unless you brought your own you would have to risk it being out in the open in the shared area of your floor.

For a capsule hotel, this one is excellent. Very clean and comfortable bed. Do NOT rely on the map linked to hotels.com, however. It sent me on a 90 min. goose chase exactly when I was most exhausted from travel.

What was outstanding is the friendlyness of the staff. I almost felt like I was coming home. The staff was not only very professional, but they also went further, reaching to clients to offer sheet, help and provide information or even asking question on my plan about tomorrow to offer me advises and direction.
This is a place where you must respect the rules/time. If they tell you to go out of the cabin's area before 10h, it is better to proceed as such. There are rules for a reason, they have to make sure the place is cleaned-up and everything in order to welcome the next guests or current client at the right time. The cleaning time is less than other places where you have to go out for the whole day before being able to come back, so this is nice.
The only downside of a capsule hotel is the sound. For people like me, light sleeper, it is left to the other guests to respect the appropriate sound level. Even if I put ear-plugs on, sometimes you have people who are not aware of others around them and they make more noise than they should. But that's not the hotel's fault. I guess this is what is like to live in society. :)
Would I go back to Tsukimi hotel? YES!!!!! A big YESSS. I love them.

So all places have shoes for you to wear - this place makes you share bathroom shoes with a dozen other women. Imagine women hiking and walking all day then slipping there dirty feet into shoes before you - one was COVERED IN BLOOD. Not to mention the 'hair dryer rules' that everyone breaks and dirty shower. No staff at night so not like I could tell anyone if they cared. Stay somewhere else.
