I spent a night in the apartments which are part of this hotel - everything was wonderful. The warmest welcome through to the amenities, location, parking 4 mins walk away. I wish I could have stayed longer and would recommend to anyone. Some of my favourite touches were the black tea bags and turndown chocolates! :-)

Very grand and uptown hotel, amazing service

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Torel 1884. The hotel building itself is just stunning and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We were upgraded upon arrival and also offered a discounted rate on breakfast (which was delicious). We were also given a voucher for free drinks at the bar. The location was also spot on, close to lots of bars and restaurants. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Porto. Thank you to the staff there for a truly wonderful stay!

We stayed in one the very spacious apartments, 2 bedroom and 1 bath. Had a full kitchen, which was great for having breakfast and starting the day early. The front desk staff are so very helpful and nice!

What a lovely property! I stayed in the apartments which are about a block away from the main hotel in one of the studio units. Very spacious and perfect for 1 - 2 people. The bed was larger than I expected (as an American I assure smaller beds in Europe), spacious bathroom, a small but well provisioned kitchen and strong air conditioning. Though it was just me, I appreciated the sliding glass doors and thick curtain separating the sleeping space from the living space. Only minor complaint is that the thermostat emits a bright light, but I was able to cover that with with the curtain by maneuvering my suitcase to hold things in place. The staff is where this property really stands out. The front desk, doormen, cleaning crew and team at the restaurant were all friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make things easy for me. Next time I come to Porto I will stay here again!

I stayed off the rua das Flores apartments and it was smack dab in the center of it all. The musical performances below provided a magical soundtrack to my stay here. The service is top tier, the staff was incredibly helpful, went above and beyond in showing off the amenities, answering any and all questions. The library bar was a great perk too! Would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend.

Could not fault this place. We had a missed flight connection so we only had the one night but the team made a positive difference in our attitude that day. Great service.

Beautiful building, clean, comfortable, very nice inside. Staff were excellent. Great location. We didn’t really have any plans and just began walking. This is central to a lot of great spots.

Beautiful hotel, great customer service and the morning breakfast was a huge plus! We’d definitely stay here again. A good central location for seeing a lot of Porto on foot.

The staff was really great! The location great too!! We received a complimentary bottle of wine but didn’t have any means to open it - when we asked for a bottle opener we were told it would be delivered and it never was. That was disappointing but overall highly recommended - staff was awesome and location amazing!

We had a wonderful stay at Torrel 1884 Suites & Apartments. The hotel is housed in a gorgeous period building, with authentic features, and the room we were upgraded to was genuinely one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. It felt contemporary, yet with an antique edge, a contrast that my friend and I were impressed with from the moment we arrived. The high ceilings of our room were a particular highlight - they lent the space such an expansive aesthetic, and the four poster bed worked perfectly as a focal point, creating real drama. The artwork that adorns the hotel is bold, dynamic and vivid, and the staff were all wonderful, eager to help with recommendations for perfect Porto. I would love to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Fantastic hotel, great location but more importantly the staff are exceptional, doing everything they can to improve your stay, the housekeeping staff are by far the best we have experienced.

This hotel is amazing! Tremendous thought and care was placed on every detail of our stay. Anything we needed was attended to within minutes. All of the staff was so kind and seemed to love and genuinely care about their job. Breakfast was the best food we ate in Porto! Highly recommend this hotel!

Every member of staff at Torel 1884 were lovely, from the warm welcome, to our checkout. They couldn't do more and took real pride in thier work. Great building, great location, amazing staff and hospitality. Would recommend.

The customer service from the staff was great. I wouldn’t book this place again because when I was booking we selected elevator. We checked in the lovely hotel and was taken across 3 mins to the apartment. This was a up hill walk for approximately 3 minutes. The apartment has no elevator, so f you have luggage well it’s 20 steps to the first floor. One of the staff had to take our cases back to the hotel when we checked out. When we booked I found this to be very deceiving because no mention was made that the apartment did not have an elevator.

First and foremost Arturo and all of the checkin staff were above and beyond. They put to shame any other check in I have been privy to. I’m learning Portuguese and at last someone had the patience to let me struggle through the process. Their moto is exceptional and comparatively to others or not it’s without a doubt true. Grateful to have come across this property. Averaging 15 to 20 hotels and apartment annually this is the top. Muito obrigado!

Fantastic boutique hotel. Rooms with tall ceilings, modern furnishings, very comfortable beds, and I had a bath in my main area. Location is great just up the hill from the river and 2 minute walk to Sao Bento station. I didn't eat at the restaurant but others seemed to be enjoying it. The staff was nice as well.

Staff was superb! The most professional and accommodating staff offering champagne or cappuccino upon arrival. Helped with bags and made dinner reservations for us as well as gave great recommendations. We got a great price and was not expecting this kind of service. The best service we had in all of the European hotels we've stayed in this far.

Terrific location in the heart of many quality restaurants and near enough to walk to the river. Feels like staying in a lovely luxury private home rather than a hotel. Request a room away from the street if you want quiet. Or overlook the street if you like that energy. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was very well kitted out. The view was fantastic including two church facades. Gorgeous at night!
