The locality was good and the nearby spots were decent

The beds weren't comfortable. The ACs weren't working The cleanliness was an issue and the rooms were stinking because of mould formation. The staff wasnt helpful either

Good location. Budget room.

Our stay was a complete disappointment. We had booked a room with a private terrace, as shown on photos and descriptions on Booking.com, but when we got there, they told us that we had to pay extra for it. The advertised terrace was in fact a common terrace at the top of the building, which at the time was virtually a construction site. We booked the room in part attracted by the daily activities that the hostel says it offers on its website (cycling tours, game nights, etc). Again, when we got there they said they did not have any activities for guests. There should have been wifi everywhere in the bulding, but there wasn't. We complained for three days before they fixed it. My suspicious self wonders if they only fixed it after three days because that's when the property started to fill up for the weekend or because we refused to pay our outstanding balance until wifi was fixed. On Booking.com, it says that the property has a cafe service. There was none. They said we could go to the nearby Zostel for internet, food, refreshments and activities. If I hadn't had to pay ALL of my booking in advance, I would have packed my things then and there and gone to stay at Zostel.

there was no attached washroom for mixed dorm in ground floor. The common washroom was there on first floor and was not so clean.

The best hostel I've visited so far! The staff make the experience even better and the property is also very close to the North Cliff and Black Beach. Highly recommend!

The staffs were exceptional in their hospitality. I felt like home away from home. Community kitchen, the lobby, the location they were all nice.

1. Two bathrooms to be shared by a lot of people. 2. Need to go upstairs for the shared bathroom. 3. You can just 300 more and get a private room somewhere around.

A great, vibrant stay. Lovely community to be in. Good food & other amenities act like added bonuses.

The cafe staff are not that much friendly 🙂 but its ok everyone can't be the same u think off and the worst part comes here the common droms has no washroom u have to used the upper side resturant washroom its just radiculous only one suggestion instead of this just attached the washroom with the droms....

Value for money. Amazing vibe and a friendly crowd. The staff was friendly and sweet. Enjoyed my stay there.

I had to use the common bathrooms. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly and had a lot of spider webs. The food was pretty expensive at the soul cafe.

Nice hostel, spacious dorms , close to the beach also staff is really helpful. Would love to stay here again.

The location was good, 5 minutes walk to the north cliff. 10 mins away from the railway station. Rickshaws are easy to find.

This hostel was a huge disappointment. And the girl present at the reception was the rudest person I have ever met while traveling, she was never available and was busy partying all the time. Before you book this hostel, here are some short facts you should know - 1. The dorm washroom is not just available to you and to your roommates, but to literally ANY random person from the hostel. And there is no one to make sure, that person is even staying in the hostel and is not some stranger who walked in from the entry gate which is open at all times and the cafe is full of drunk people partying till late night, some of them are not from the hostel. 2. Forget about sleeping in peace. There is too much noise. 3. They ask you to keep you door open ALL THE TIME. And there are no lockers or safety for your stuff. During the day, I could get that they need it open incase there are other guests checking-in but why at night?? How can they expect the guests to sleep when there are random people who enter any time and no security/staff is available to ensure safety. WHAT KIND OF PLACE IS THIS?? When i talked about this to the girl at the reception, her response was "Oh no one is going to steal your stuff" like wtf?? 4. The washroom is not maintained/cleaned properly. At the end of the day when we went back to our room, there were always dirty shoes marks on the room floor and bathroom floor. Which sucked because they made us take off our own shoes/sandals outside. So everyday we were walking in barefoot on a floor which was already dirty. I had to stay there for 3 days as she refused to refund my money and had already taken full payment before otherwise I would have moved somewhere else, I hated every moment of my stay there. My experience with Soul was not just disappointing but Negative. I would not recommend it to anyone, especially girls, family, or solo travellers.

The staff is amazingly welcoming and friendly - felt like I've known them for longer than a day for sure. I was booked for 2 nights, but decided on 1 night to move over to their sister hostel (The Lost - Helipad). No reason against this place, I just felt it was convenient for me to be on the beach per se and close to the restaurants. This hostel is located only 6 minutes drive or tuk-tuk, so you're not that far.

There were a lot of ants in my room, I'm not sure if that's controllable with some pesticides, but I had to close my suitcase every time to ensure I wasn't taking any ants with me.

I liked the ambience and the location, the host and volunteers were so kind and helpful. I had a problem with my leg, but I never felt insecure that I had a trust that someone will help before I fell down. Including the host's and guests.

Everything was fine. If they allowed outside food and drinks it would have been better so that we can choose the a big variatey foods. But owners were too kind that they allowed me to have when they knew I already bought it.
