Room ok, swimming pool ok, breakfast terrible (low quality continental).

You can tell the property is putting a lot of effort into remodeling and renovating. Fresh paint on exterior and in. The grounds are nicely landscaped. The parking garage was clean and felt safe. Convenient location. No carpet (for people allergic to dust mites this is a deal maker). Beds were comfortable and not well used. The shutters and soundproof windows/slider are great. The little patio was convenient for our dog. Pool is clean; hot tub is old and nasty looking. The sink faucet was barely attached but it functioned. The shower curtain rod was dangling off the shower wall on both sides so water leaked outside to the floor even with the curtain closed. Seemed like the room we had was still being repaired/renovated but it all functioned so we made it work.

Mariposa Inn & Suites is in a good location, 5 minutes from the Wharf, restaurants and lots of places to walk. Our room was on the street side, it was quiet with lovely patio. I liked that my car was parking in garage under hotel with elevator. Very easy to get luggage to room. The breakfast was just enough to get you going for the day. All in all, I would stay there again when coming to Monterey!!

Not alot to just never visit This hotel again

Dated , rooms smell of cleaning supplies heavily. Needs new beds badly very uncomfortable and old.First room had no hot water at bathroom sink and water stopped running in bathtub, was moved to another room nxt morning no hot water in bathroom sink again. The continental breakfast was terrible bananas was all brown and bruised, very limited on choice. We definitely was disappointed.

I recently stayed at Mariposa Inn and Suites in Monterey, and it was a regrettable choice. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how run-down the place felt. The exterior looked tired and in desperate need of maintenance, which set the tone for my stay. Once I entered my room, I was immediately disappointed. It was far from clean; I found hair in the shower and a musty smell that lingered throughout the room. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority here. The furniture was outdated and uncomfortable. The bed felt lumpy, and the pillows were flat and offered little support. I woke up multiple times during the night due to discomfort, which made my stay even more frustrating. The noise from the nearby road didn’t help either, as it was quite loud and disruptive. The curtains were all wrinkled, not taken care of at all. The little porch was dirty and overgrown with weeds, and the Jacuzzi was stained yellow.I was truly surprised to see how neglected the overall property appeared; it felt more like a cheap motel than a suite. Overall, my experience at Mariposa Inn and Suites was disappointing, to say the least. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean stay in Monterey. There are certainly better options available that prioritize guest satisfaction and cleanliness. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere!

To much street noise couldn’t get to sleep till after midnight

Sad that $200 is "low budget", but I guess it worked for 1 overnight in Monterey. I hate the term "Inn". Just call it a motel. Didnt love the broken elevator for our two fifty lb pieces of luggage, but a worker (supposedly) offered to carry up. Felt awkward as if he didnt work there, so I declined. Only real perks were very basic free continental breakfast and surprise parking garage.

because of my back pain, I checked with their front desk 10 days before reservation that they have elevator?, they said yes they do, they have elevator, but when I got there, elevator does not working, They said the elevator it’s already out of service for one week, I asked them do they have any doorbell or someone who can assist me to take all my and my wife suitcases three floor upstairs? They said no!!! After an hour when I took all my suitcases upstairs, I called from desk to see when the elevator will get fixed and they said they don’t know and until I left the place after three days, it was still not fixed,, they offer me first floor room, which it was next to some company who do car cleaning and detailing inside the hotel parking!!!??? with lots of noise of their cars and their compressors, so staying at that hotel was not a good experience at all

Pool and spa are looked inviting but I forgot my suit!

Everything was nice and quiet and good breakfast

The staff was great. We initially had a room that shared a balcony with the adjacent room. The staff had no problem finding us another room without a shared balcony. Mattress was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. The mixing valve for our shower seemed to not work. The water was either hot or cold and it was hard to get it to be warm. Bathroom mirror edges were rusty and there was some rust staining on the floor from the metal frame used to box out the mattress legs. Felt like we were paying a premium price for a average motel.

The king suite was nice and great for the family. Two full bathrooms, upstairs was provided privacy and the Murphy bed was comfy.

Nice spot, not too close to stuff but not too far away. Conveniently located across from the Del Monte Mall

Right next to busy road and loud traffic. Broken elevator. Very small/ cramped location. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

The hotel is nice but could use a little more maintenance. The floors and stairs are somewhat dirty and the elevator was broken. Had to carry luggage 3rd floor. Stayed 2 nights.

Will recommend to my friends and will stay here in future 😃

Good overall

Had a beautiful king bed room suite with fireplace and separate couch TV area. This was ideal as I had to take a few meetings before starting my Monterey vacation so my partner had somewhere to relax while I was at the desk. The Wi-Fi was good but it wasn't streaming anything but acceptable for meetings. I thought it was good value for the price compared to other hotels in the area. The king executive suite also has a balcony with two eating areas so if you book adjoining rooms it would be kind of nice for a family. There was parking underneath and an elevator. The only thing is the headboard was kind of scratched up I'm sure people have had fun in the room and things are a little dated but for half the price of another hotel when I'm going to just be out most of the day this is good.

wifi service sucks. i had no reception the entire time i was there and i was there for 4 days and 3 nights. my son threw up on the sheets and i didn’t get housekeeping until the next following day. i won’t be booking here again.

The property is a nice small hotel. Rooms are updated with nice flooring and furnishings. Cable TV system stopped working on our second day and we could only get a couple channels for the remainder of our stay. Staff generally don’t answer the phone. The receptionist acted like I was bothering her when we checked in. Other staff seemed pleasant. The continental breakfast was simple but actually above average. The property could be so much nicer if they spent some time, money and effort in actually maintaining it. Weeds, flaking pool deck coatings, paint, etc. etc. I never understood why ownership allow that to happen. It’s worth several million dollars but they have poor maintenance and repair policies. Sad.

After check-in, I checked the bedding and noticed some red stains on the sheets. I had to go down to the office and ask for clean bedding. There was also hair between the sheets and the bed board were peeling. The bathroom wall had what appeared to be makeup on it. After seeing all this, I decided to wipe surfaces down as I felt the room was not cleaned properly upon arrival. The staff were friendly and nice. On our second day the TV stopped working. We are told that Comcast would come and fix it but we spent the rest of our vacation without TV. Again, the staff were nice but I wish the room was cleaner and we had access to all the amenities including the TV.

Breakfast was terrible

Disappointing!!! Do NOT believe the pictures on the website. The property is old, tv in the room did not work for a full day, headboards looked disgusting, bathroom had black mold spots on the ceiling in the shower and all around the flooring of the bathtub and door was filthy, moldy, and disgusting! Table lamps in the room flickered non-stop while they were on. The pool was cold and the spa was too hot. NO towels poolside like to photos show, poolside tables & chairs worn and do not look strong enough to hold an adult. Walls inside our room had gashes and something icky stuff to one area. Air conditioner fan was extremely loud when on making it difficult to sleep but you needed it on because the room was so humid. Small patio was overgrown with weeds. DO NOT RECOMMEND this place and the owners should be sited for the lack of upkeep.

Great little hotel right next to shopping!

The room was nice, clean and they had cute animals made out of washcloths. I wish they had better options for the continental breakfast. There were not enough healthy options and the bananas were way too ripe. My only other complaint is the balcony. Although it is very nice with a picnic table and heater, it is shared with the next room. When I arrived to my room after working all day, and opened my blinds the neighbors where on my side at my table looking right into my room. I think there should be a divider between rooms. Because of this my door could not be left open at night even though I was on the second floor. Other than that, it was a great place, and I would stay there again.

hotel room was absolutely beautiful. Extremely spacious! absolutely loved it

Only a few TV channels, no smart TV. There was a bright light on our balcony that we could still see while sleeping despite closing shutters which made it difficult to sleep. Called front desk and was told there was no switch and nothing they could do. No gym just offer a pass.
