We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is clean and spacious, with a beautiful sea view but we have been charged for the towels before to be told it was not free. And the room didn't look exactly the same as the picture because we didn't have the panoramic view for the privilege room, so make sure to book either 601 or 603, 602 is between two walls. overall experience was great.

Loved the location on the water!!! The pool was the highlight. The room was very minimal. It looked like it had been renovated but a bit rough and the small wash closet was very small. Then location on the water was the highlight of this property!!!!!!

We had a great overnight at Cala di Sole on our way to our house rental in southern Corsica. The hotel is beautifully situated directly on the coast with all rooms have a patio or terrace overlooking the water. The views are fantastic, especially at sundown. Rooms seem to have been recently renovated in a modern, very functional quality and are immaculately clean. A bar/terrace overlooks the water as well and was a great place to grab a drink after arriving and was also where we had breakfast. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Hotel was easily accessed from Ajaccio airport and was also an easy drive into the center of town but far enough away to be very quiet. With its cleanliness, low-key stylishness, location, and very fair price, Cala di Sole was a great choice. We only wish we had the opportunity to spend more time there.

A beautiful hotel on beautiful grounds right on the sea. Very helpful and friendly staff. Splurge and get an ocean facing room.

We had the perfect privilege room (603) with two balconies and a panoramic view.
An excellent breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and a huge natural honeycomb.
It would have been good to have refreshments offered throughout the day.
The beach restaurant is open 12-2, 7.30-9.30pm, closed Tuesday evening.
The bar opens at 5.30pm and does not serve snacks on Tuesdays.
It's a great place to relax by the sea and enjoy the seawater pool BUT the mindless 'music' is intrusive, even on our balcony. Only poolside was a peaceful haven.
The hotel is way outside the town but has a fixed price taxi to/ from the railway station or airport.
A short walk along the wide pavement to a public beach offers alternative restaurants ( Kos is recommended).

Wonderful hotel with an exceptional staff. The staff are actively ensuring your experience is enjoyable. The waterfront view from the rooms is excellent. Reasonable walking distance from the downtown (1 hour stroll along the beach) so you're away from the commotion. Great food at the hotel restaurant and accompanying beach bar. Had an amazing time and would strongly recommend to my friends visiting the island.

Cala de Sole is a wonderful hotel, sitting directly on the edge of the ocean. Every room has a deck or patio with a view of the ocean. Friendly staff, sandy beach, great beach side restaurant and location, just outside the city, makes this a great place to stay.

Cala di Sole is a classic beach getaway friendly for couples and families. The salt water pool deck is great for catching some sun and relaxing. The private sand beach is set in an exclusive cove typically with a paillote serving the customers. The cocktails, food and desserts set the standard of care for excellence among Corsican dining and libations. The setting is totally idyllic and just a stones throw to Ajaccio. The sunrise and sunset over the bay with the iles Sanguinaires is picture perfect. Come if you dare. You may never want to leave.

What a surprise! Beautiful resort, large room with a terrace and stunning view of the sea. Staff was charming and helpful.

The location of the property provides some beautiful views, and likely in high season is a busy place. The decor is quite modern. We stayed just at the beginning of low season so there was no longer a full restaurant and the hotel was quite empty. And, the free WIFI was virtually nonexistent. If you did manage to connect, it would continually drop, and then you could not reconnect. In today’s day and age, providing WIFI should not be that difficult.

This is a tricky review. The location is perfect with beautiful views. The swimming pool is lovely. There is a nice beach. The breakfast was good. It was very clean and the air con worked very well. The staff are friendly.
There is a restaurant attached to the hotel and the food there was very good and averagely priced.
However our room was very tired, There was a tiny separate toilet and a bathroom which was adequate & clean was in need of refurbishment.
The room was big and realistically if you had arrived there maybe 30 years ago you would have thought you were in heaven but not now. It was a bit scuffed and well worn.
Maybe we were just unlucky as we peeped next door into rooms 9 & 10 and they had been updated so if you go ask for one of these rooms.
It is a shame because we enjoyed the stay. You can catch the bus into Ajaccio outside the hotel for just 3 euros (Better than trying to park). Going the other way you are near the Isles Sanguinaires with good walks and beautiful views.

We only stayed here for one night but wished we had booked more. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful. With a great little terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel has a lovely pool, it’s own beach and a very decent restaurant. I couldn’t fault it, we’d definitely stay again if we visit Corsica.

We loved the hotel’s location - walking distance to some nice beaches and restaurants, and only a 20 minute bus drive into Ajaccio centre.
The pool was nice as were the bar and communal areas. The rooms are basic, but you only sleep there.
One thing that wasn’t great is you have to pay for the sunloungers on the beach and beach towels, quite common practice but not highlighted when you book. So bear this in mind.
We were disappointed to be offered ironing at the hotel reception as they don’t provide irons in any of the rooms. They didn’t mention a charge for this and then charged us €5 per item. Just another thing to bear in mind, so maybe take a travel iron. I think this should have been a free service since most hotels offer an Iron. They didn’t inform of us this charge until we got our bill.

Really great stay!
Hotel was really comfortable and staff really very nice.
Access to Ajaccio not a problem at all bus 1 Euro approx every 30 mins last one just after midnights.
Quite a few nice restaurants in walking distance.
Rooms would have really benefitted from a fridge and or kettle/coffee facility.
Great view and aspect right onto the sea fab!

Great place, our room had nice sea view. Good breakfast, but you need to go on the right time, because they ran out quickly of omelette and bacon :))
We had one problem with the air con leaking (I mean leaking: around 1 l water per day leaked from it, and during the night it was disturbing to listen to the falling water drops) if you set the temp below 25. They were not able to provide a solution for that nor repair it in spite of repeated promises.
There is no lunch or dinner served in the hotel. The nearby beach restaurant is pricier than other restaurants in the neighborhood. Don't miss visiting other beaches. There are a few more secluded ones not very far in the direction opposite from Ajaccio.
You will definitely need a care to move around. Even with a car it takes a lot of time to get around the island as there are no motorways. So plan to only visit the neighboring beaches as it would take a lot of time to reach the others. Don't miss Cupabia, the Petit Capo and Grand Capo beaches.
Overall good, Corsica is beautiful and this hotel is a good place to get around from.

John, the night manager was very nice. He made me something to eat the night I checked in after 11pm when nothing was available anywhere else. He had very interesting stories. Ask him about "Just Ask for John". Carl and the rest of the staff were very nice and accomodating. Most of the staff also spoke English, a plus for me. The balcony at the room was spacouis and the view to die for, less than 100 feet to the waves. My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer.

We very much enjoyed staying at this family run boutique hotel. Carl and his staff made us feel very welcome here. As others have mentioned, room decor is simple, but the rooms are comfortable and all have wonderful sea views. You can sleep to the sound of the waves every night! Both the beach and the pool are absolutely perfect, well accommodated with lounge chairs. We were here at the height of the season and never felt crowded at all. I much prefer this to a large, modern and impersonal hotel! There is a pleasant patio, too, where you can enjoy a drink and watch the sun set. There are many good restaurants you can walk to, including the hotel's own restaurant, which is open for both lunch and dinner and serves some of the best food we had in the area. Carl will give you tips on what to do, provide you with beach umbrellas for a picnic out, even, and was there on hand to wave us goodbye when we left. The hotel is located on the scenic route des Sanguinaires. It's a great destination if you want to be close but not in the city's action. We were able to enjoy everything and stay in a hotel which was a holiday in itself, not just a place to sleep. We stayed 5 nights here, perfect to enjoy some relaxed time at the beach as well as get out and see the sights.

I recently returned following a one week stay at this hotel.
As a former hotelier, I must share that hygiene was a concern. There was no soap in the restaurant bathroom & when I asked the owner for soap, she gave me a wrapped refresh towel. So, I then asked the chef who put some liquid soap in a paper cup & asked me to not use too much water, as it is expensive. Wow!
Bridgette at Reception is the best part of the property. She is the quintessential ambassador who is a real professional. Sebastian is also a real pro who is on top of things.
Other staff are weak & not well trained.
Michelle, the night Manager, hung up on me when I complained about noise coming from the balcony next door at 2am. He said " You must wait until the morning." Click! On the morning I left, which was at 5am, he was sleeping. So much for security!
Overall, the furniture is all plastic or wicker & things are done in a cheap way, even the lounge chairs at the pool. Overall, the property is run down.
I would never recommend it.
