Hotel Donatello, as with Padua itself, was great. Near St Anthony's and the Botanic Garden, it was easy walking to other sites and sights. The staff were most helpful.
Padua alive with Roman and medieval links, including buildings and frescoes. Coffee and food, si!
4.3
The staff was fantastic. The breakfast was very good in the morning. Probably one of the best experiences at a hotel in Italy. I am 6'6" so any bed I stand in Europe is usually uncomfortable for me, but the room was great and very clean and updated. Not to mention the great location.
4.3
A great location close to many interesting sites and places to eat. Our room faced onto the quiet street overlooking a little cafe opposite. Our double room was clean and well maintained.
4.3
Absolutely lovely location diagonal from the basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua. Large room with beautiful windows. Terrific breakfast! Our only difficulty was parking, which was a bit distant. We would definitely stay there again.
4.3
the staff were very helpfull with calling us taxis, very knowladgeable qith shopping abs sightseeing.
4.3
Very easy to visit key sites from here... and pop back for a cold shower!! Bit of a schlepp to the station...
4.3
After finding the location of the property. It was close to the public transport system with connections to rail station. The property staff were friendly and answered all our questions. The hotel and room were very clean and comfortable. I will recommend this location to family and friends if they travel to and stay in Padua.
4.3
The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Inside is very clean. Looks like an old barn turned into a hotel. Surrounding gives a feeling that you are not safe. Very good food. Hard to find transport to get to this place. After we checked in only we found out that there's a free shuttle from and to the airport. good for a short stay.
4.3
Location suited me, and staff very helpful. Ggod breakfast.
4.3
Ideal location close to the old city basilica and other landmarks. Staff were great and very helpful. Lots of restaurants withing a short walk, from cafe to fine dining. buses and tram stop nearby with regular services. Portico streets aplenty, the heart of Italian architecture
4.3
Not sure re transit striking or not.
Kept us guessing. Hotel perfect.
4.3
There was no AC working, the sealing was peeling from water
4.3
bad, very tiny shower cabin and always clogged sink. No air-conditioning, and extraordinarily bad mattress - should be more than enough for bad review
4.3
Very central and convenient. Being renovated so noisy during day
4.3
Location opposite the basilica was very good and convenient, plenty of dining options and cafes in walkable distance, close to a bus/tram stop. Very friendly staff and great value for money.
4.3
Great place to explore the city. The hotel is on the square where is the cathedral. Excellent service and very nice people. If you travel by car, get in touch with the hotel about directions to the parking. I enjoyed my visit very much and highly recommend the hotel.
4.3
The best part about staying in this hotel was that it was so central with access to the center, the big churches, cathedrals and parks. The breakfast was delicious with the best croissants I've ever tasted and great coffee! I loved the charm of this older hotel. The worst was the front desk! The man who first greated us seemed
jaded and arrogant. Maybe he was weary of the long, busy tourist summer season that seemed to be unending in spite of autumn. The other guys were very friendly, but gave us poor advice. We wanted to see the lecture hall where Galileo taught and the man sent us to a totally bogus museum
that was difficult to find. In general, I found them careless and lazy in trying to understand and direct us. Also, it was definitely a problem that their English and my Italian was so limited. It sounded like they understood, and they spoke clearly enough, but I realized much to my disappointment that they obviously had not understood my requests. Also, trying to follow the map he gave us was impossible. Everything was so tiny and confusing. Trying to use Google Maps was also a nightmare, because I lost service every 10 seconds and it redirected me, and so I kept going circles. Very frustrating.
4.3
Manuel ,the front desk manager and his colleagues were all very courteous and pleasant.
4.3
The hotel is well situated and the bed was comfortable but the a/c had been switched off so the room got stuffy, airless and too warm making for a difficult night’s sleep. There were also mosquitoes that bit my wife and I throughout the night. The breakfast was adequate but the croissants were hard and a little stale.
4.3
Not horrible but not great. The a/c was off for the season and we were told to open the window for air. The room is above the bar so noise and of course mosquitoes were a huge problem. The room was small and its layout impossible for two people to move around in easily. We asked for a larger room and told no. However the front desk staff were very helpful with taxis and information.
4.3
Was nice, the staff were lovely, the room was lovely (just dated but not an issue). Good area to stay in

4.3
A beautiful old school hotel. The staff was terrific!
4.3
good location
4.3
It is a very basic, but clean hotel. I chose it because of its proximity to the Basilica of Saint Anthony. It is easy to walk to the downtown area and to see all of the beautiful city of Padua.

Very nice
4.3
Very nice older hotel in excellent location. Staff very friendly and helpful
4.3
Good Staff, good location (walkable to major sites, safe) but no temperature control in the room and somehow it felt very warm and humid inside despite being 21 C/68 F outside.
4.3
Excellent location, comfortable and friendly helpful staff. Is quite dated and in need of updating. Our room was extremely hot. Hotel advised it was too early in season for air con.
4.3
Property is near Basilica so lot of noise at night. Windows are not air tight to stayed up pretty much all night if you are light sleeper like me. Breakfast is mediocre, coffee not that good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is not included even though our reservation said it was. Property is old but maintained well.
4.3

I felt very welcomed and taken care of at the Hotel Donatello. It could not be in a better location and everything was perfect. Thank you everyone for a lovely stay in Padua.
4.3
Really great location. Lovely staff. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. Water ran hot with good pressure. My room needed a bit of a refresh. Carpet was a little tired. I'd stay again.
4.3
What a dirty hotel!!! Bathroom contained important black mould wherever it is able to settle, air vents blowed in all kinds of disgusting particles, hairs, etc, some of the lamp bulbs were dead…and the list could continue.
One advantage : besides the San Antonio Basilica
4.3
Very charming hotel. Great location and very friendly staff.
4.3
