Wonderful home for entire family (children and grandchildren). Incredible views, close to attractions, great access to the beach and other amenities (groceries and restaurants). Home has game room, beach accessories, bikes and is very roomy. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful house and great location in quiet neighborhood. Quick walk to the beach. Kids loved the game rooms! Only recommendation is more spare blankets/bedding. There wasn’t any bedding for pull out couch beds. We ended up having to buy blankets. Overall I’d recommend this house.

We rented the house for 4 days with a group of friends. The check-in process was really easy. We were traveling with two infants and were allowed to check in early to make sure we could arrive well before their bedtime. The location of the house was great - a 10 minute walk to the beach. The game room and the beach towels/chairs/toys were a hit! The only two downsides to this house: (1) the house is located very close to the train and you can hear it go by. This was fine during the day but at night it sometimes woke up the babies. (2) The doors on every bedroom and bathroom are made of glass and see-through which was very awkward. Overall we had a great stay though!

We rented out the entire house with my family during my wedding weekend and it was a fantastic place to accommodate both my parents and my husbands parents and our siblings. It was like having two houses in one so it made it easy for people to have their own space and own bathrooms. The views from the decks are spectacular and make for incredible sunsets and dinners! The whole house was so clean and had every amenity you could need. The location was also very convenient and close to a grocery store and the downtown area, plus the hosts were so responsive. We hope to stay here again in the future, it was truly the most amazing property!

The place was excellent. Location was great. Beds were nice and comfy. Outdoor furniture and fire tables were fun. Only strange part was that the bathroom and bedroom doors are glass. They are a bit see through, although obscured, so that made showering and bathroom events a bit strange since we were with a mixed group. Beautiful house with great accommodations though. Would gladly stay here again!

Overall it was great house was amazing, host was great gave us a bottle of wine and all. Only problem was u have to be extremely quite do to neighbors complaints.

We had an amazing stay! The property was exactly as advertized! Proximity to the beach was perfect and the amenities of the home kept everyone busy: Foosball, pinball machines, video games, shuffleboard table, and horshoes! We took full advantage of the beach accessories including the umbrellas and chairs and used the wagons to haul all of the goodies. I had a question during the stay and Nancy and the team immediately responded with an answer. I would recommend the property to anyone and will seek to use them again in the future!

When you walk into this beautiful home, it’s truly amazing. As stated in the description, the houses a wonderful lagoon and ocean view, is nicely decorated, furnished, and has all the beach equipment and games you would need. We rented the entire house for a week, and it was perfect for our family. The upstairs loft is a little tricky since the stairs are very narrow and steep. The location of the property is close to the beach, village, restaurants, and attractions in Carlsbad are great. As far as being Zen like solitude, I was a little disappointed since the house is located close to the railroad tracks. You can watch the trains go by and throughout the day and late at night, you can hear the whistle blow. This was unfortunate because we could not leave the doors opens much as we would like to enjoy the cool breezes. This was brought to Vacation in Carlsbad’s attention and they agreed it should be noted in their description. Also, they need to provide more paper products. For a couple days it would be adequate, but not for a week and 11 people. For the cost of the rental, more should be provided. Overall our family had fun and enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the staff at Vacations in Carlsbad for being so nice.

The property was perfect for a family of 3 generations. The youngest could separate themselves in the lower unit while the older adults enjoyed peace and quiet and a great view from the top unit. There were 11 of us and everyone had a bedroom, except the youngest! The location was fantastic, a short walk to the beach, no parking issues, great amenities. We will choose the Kai property again! Great vacation!

We had a wonderful stay as part of a family reunion. We had 5 adults and 4 kids under 5! It was a perfect set-up for us with the 2 suites and 3 washing machines. We stayed upstairs with our kids and my MIL while my SIL's family was downstairs. It gave us enough space and privacy when we wanted, but also perfect to hangout with the whole family. The house was spotless! View on the patio was gorgeous. Neighbourhood was quiet and it was an easy drive to Legoland as well as Carslbad Village. We would highly recommend this house to friends and family visiting the area.

We rented both levels of the Kia house for a family event. Everything was as advertised. The units were clean and well stocked. Everything we needed was provided. We had a few minor issues which were addressed immediately. The staff was pleasant and very responsive.

We rented the entire residence, Carlsbad Kai for 5 days/6 nights in June for my daughter’s wedding. We had 8 people in our party. Carbon Monoxide detectors went off after using the downstairs oven for 1 ½ hours. The Fire Dept and SD Gas & Electric determined the oven was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. The upstairs oven was tested and had the same problem. Vacation in Carlsbad scheduled the appliances to be repaired the next day, so we decided to stay in the home. (We were told by their manager that all of their other properties were booked.) The next day, we returned from the wedding in the evening to find out that both oven/ranges couldn’t be fixed and had to be replaced the following week. When we inquired what could be done, realizing that we’ll be without use of appliances for the rest of our stay, the Vacation in Carlsbad manager offered no assistance. Instead, the manager stated we broke our contract with them because it "appears" we were going to have a party with large amounts of people, therefore, they have no obligation to us. (When the manager came to the house the morning the Carbon Monoxide detectors went off, she saw our wedding supplies of wine, glasses etc. She inquired if we were having the wedding at the home, or any other large party. We explained that all wedding events were being held in Rancho Santa Fe, and the only visitors we’re having over are my brother and sister’s families for a drink before the rehearsal dinner and brunch before they head to the airport.) The Vacation Rental Rules in the Carlsbad Kai home (and contract we signed), state(d) that “Personal visitors to the property are the sole responsibility of the guest.” (We had two families over, 8 visitors to the home.) If Vacation in Carlsbad is going to assume any amount of visitors constitutes a party, then they should state NO visitors allowed. We too are owners of a vacation home and don’t want it to be a “party venue.” But we know that families travel on vacation with other families, so visitors are allowed to our home too. We were very disappointed in how Vacation in Carlsbad handled this situation. I have never left a bad review and was reluctant to do so, but felt our situation might be helpful to others. On a positive note, the house is beautiful and located close to the beach. The neighbors are wonderful and were very happy with all the food we gave them since we weren’t able to cook during our stay.

We rented the whole house for a week in early October for a family reunion of 8 adults and 4 children ages 2 to 70 from Arizona and England. The house is sparkling clean, beautiful and uncluttered but has everything you can possibly need for a beach vacation. We loved the decks with scenic views to the lagoon and beach and the barbecues and fire pits. We ate tons of meals out there. Beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and beach toys and bikes are even provided. You could fly in here and not need to buy anything except food. The kids loved all the play rooms and games. Carlsbad Village is a short walk and there is a path to the beach. We did car outings into La Jolla, Mission Beach, Coronado, Seaport Village, San Diego Zoo etc. and it was so nice to come back in the evening to such a relaxing and peaceful place. Tons of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. I would definitely book again. 5 stars plus!

The house was perfect for a girls weekend getaway. The house itself is clean, modern and had everything we needed-including super comfy beds and great bathrooms. The kitchen and deck (with fire pit) were both nice open spaces to spend time together and the view of the ocean was an added bonus! The house was also conveniently located - a short walk to the beach, close to the town of Carlsbad and a quick drive to the highway. The management company was also very responsive to any questions or issues we had before and during the trip. All in all a great weekend retreat in sunny California!

Rented house for a week and was very impressed. The 7 minute walk to the beach is simple and practical. The house is situated on a quiet street, with hardly any traffic. Great amenities that everyone enjoyed.

The house far exceeded the expectations of our entire family. It is apparent a great deal of thought has gone into equipping the house to keep both adults and children busy and entertained. Most of our group had grand plans to wander about the area, however, positioning oneself on the deck overlooking the ocean with an adult beverage seemed like a brilliant plan! At no time did we encounter a moment when we were lacking a utensil or device. The house has everything covered. We were In town to attend a wedding so the ladies were wearing their elegant clothing. They claimed having a full length mirror would have been most helpful. Thus, the only recommendation we could come up with was having one full length mirror in a bedroom. Since the house is a beach location I suspect few guests are wearing gowns during their stay. I recommend the House highly and suspect our family will be staying there again one day soon.

Loved every aspect of this home. Games were so great in keeping the kids occupied. The kitchens had everything we needed. Thank you for the wine! It was great with the knockout pizza! Nicely organized and extremely clean. We could see the pride in this property.

We really enjoyed renting both the upper and lower floor of Carlsbad Kai for a family get-together. Good sound proofing between floors so that some could go to bed earlier than others. Natural gas barbeque worked well and firepits add a nice ambiance to the evening.

We loved our stay in this spacious, modern, well-equipped property. Perfect for two families traveling together. Amazing views from the whole house!

We stayed in the Ohana Suite and fell in love - what a beautiful property! The home is modern but warm with rooms for privacy and inviting spaces to spend together. The view is breathtaking and the location is quiet. We continue to talk about how this home felt like home while we were there and only enriched a great vacation. This is a MUST if you are looking for a place to stay in Carlsbad.

Wonderful amenities, wonderful location, easy access to a beautiful beach, not much more to ask for!. The rental agent is available and helpful which is an added plus.

Our family of 6 stayed when we visited California for a family wedding. The home was minimal and beautiful. Everything you needed, nothing you didn't. As a professional organizer, I loved the clutter free environment. Gorgeous views, great location. Easy for morning walks or bike rides on beach cruisers that were provided and our 4 teenage+ kids loved the pinball machines and games. Beds super comfortable, bathrooms amazing. Will definitely look to stay at one of Missy's properties the next time we visit the West Coast! Carlsbad is a perfect and beautiful location!!
