The apartment was clean location and view were off the chart. However. The check in was awful. We arrived in a thunderstorm and there was no one to greet us and no one would answer or return our calls or text messages. There preferred way (rental company) of communication was texting. If it wasn’t for our driver we would have been standing at the gate in the pouring rain for 20 minutes. Our driver eventually found someone by yelling through the gate. The cleaning lady finally let us in and she spoke no English and we were left on our own. Eventually the property manager called us from NAPLES and directed us to a wonderful restaurant about 10 minutes away. Got back from dinner. 9:00pm. The internet was not working and we had no heat and it was about 45 degrees and the apartment was cold. Again no would answer our calls or text messages. The next day still no contact with the property manager. Finally at 6:30 pm someone from the rental company in Amalfi about 15 minutes away showed up. He apologized and informed he was at a concert last night in Naples. Really!!! We booked this months ago It’s not like our arrival was a surprise. I also texted them when we were 90 minutes as they requested. He was informative and gave us some local maps and an overview of the area. The furniture was Old and outdated The mattress was like sleeping on springs and had to be 20 years old at least The linens were old and musty smelling. The sofa was like sitting on metal bars. No toaster coffee maker one wine glass the oven didn’t work. The circuit breaker kept tripping shutting off the power. The answer was. “The place is old”. After day four no hot water in the kitchen. I gave up texting the rental company. Eventually our text messages got answered promptly and they tried to fix some of the problems. The maintenance man was very nice and apologetic and did his best to help us out. Amalfi coast was beautiful. We enjoyed our time there. However with all the choices in the area I would choose a different apartment and not this rental company. One managed and run by the actual owner is always better. Have used VRBO all over the world and I would not recommend this apartment unless it gets an update and some attention to detail. David and Lori Florida.
