This was our second stay at Bernadette’s beautiful loft. There have been some updates to the residence from our last stay in 2020, but she was still able to keep the cozy cottage feel. The main living space has a comfortable coach that pulls out to a sofa bed with a big flat screen tv that we were able to use and watch Netflix movies as a family. The kitchen has everything you can think of and there is no need to bring anything from home. The loft upstairs has a king size bed that is very comfortable and has amazing bed linens. The location of the loft is tranquil and away from the busy roads. You will not regret staying at Bernadette’s because she has paid attention to all of the small details that makes this loft a beautiful cozy getaway. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Quiet setting in the woods filled with the twittering of birds and a rooster. The home is well provisioned, clean, comfortable, and unique. I plan to return next year!

It was a pleasure to stay at Bernadette’s Place
It was a pleasure to stay at Bernadette’s Place
The accommodation had everything you need it was very comfortable had Internet and TV and the bedding was very comfortable. Bernadette has thought of everything and they were very responsive to any small inquiry coming over and rectifying the situation. The cottage is very nicely decorated has a very homey feel and is air-conditioned which was a real plus during our stay when it was very hot. The outdoor shower is a nice touch and the patio was great for having dinner on in the outdoor area. The proximity of the park and the various ponds for freshwater swimming was very nice.

A magnificent stay on the Cape
A magnificent stay on the Cape
I've been thinking for days about how to rave about "the barn" without sounding ridiculous. I may, however, not be able to. Every compliment that others have given is spot on. We arrived, in this horrible time of Covid, to a house that was sparkling clean, and we didn't worry for a moment about the nasty virus (and I'm a worrier). We were able to unload our kayaks and park the car in front of them. The interior of the barn is perfect. The kitchen has everything (2 salad spinners!! - I had brought my own because I hate wet lettuce); I was happy, however, that I had brought along one sharp knife. The sofa and large chair in the living space are very comfortable; the choice of DVDs is ridiculous. The table by the window offers beautiful views of the woods . Upstairs, the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom, again spotless, has a window (always a plus), and there is plenty of hot water. Astoundingly, you can walk one of the many trails directly into Nickerson State Park. A short drive took us there to kayak in Little Cliff Pond and Cliff Pond. I would have been happy just spending time in the fresh water park, but of course, one goes to the Cape to enjoy the National Seashore, where, in October, the water was still warm enough to splash in. On the bay side, going to Rock Harbor at low tide is a must. I had a few questions for Bernadette, which she answered within minutes on most occasions. We certainly will return - we didn't want to leave. Thank you, Bernadette for creating this great space and being such a great host. Things to recommend (some are Bernadette's**): 1. Walking/hiking in Nickerson State Park 2. Watching the sunset on the bay side 3. Looking for seals on the National Seashore side (they are hard to miss) and jumping in the surf 4. Strolling through Chatham on a rainy day 5. **Getting a 3 pound lobster at Orleans Seafood market and having them steam, crack, and split it 6. **Having dinner at Mahoney's Atlantic Bar and Grill in Orleans 7. Watching the DVD "Made in Dagenham" with Sally Hawkins (a British Norma Rae but based on a true event in the 1960s) 8. Taking a dip in the private-for-residents-and-invited-guests beach at Baker's Pond, a five-minute walk from the house. 9. Visiting the Audobon Sanctuary in Wellfleet, about 20 minutes away. There are myriad other things to do, but these are what come to mind. Anyway, you'll love it.

Wonderful Stay
Wonderful Stay
The pictures provided were accurate but seeing the barn in person was remarkable. My family had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beautiful decor and coziness of the barn. They also had everything one needed in the kitchen and throughout the barn. Do not hesitate to stay here and Bernadette is absolutely amazing with her quick response and attention to detail.
