About this campground/ rv resort rental
Your one of a kind RV adventure is centered between the Laguna Hills and the coast of San Diego, in sunny East County! Glamp in style in the new 2019 Retro Riverside trailer. This camper is set up with all the modern amenities with the quaint mid-century modern design of a teardrop trailer. The trailer sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. You will have 1 designated parking spot available to you only steps from the trailer. Come have flashback fun in a Retro RV!
Welcome to Bettie Blue Retro Retreat which is tucked away on a lush east county hillside! It is located next to our other retro trailer Darling Daisy. Our ultra-comfortable Queen walk-around bed sleeps two, and the kitchen table converts into a compact twin-size fold-out bed that can sleep one small adult or two small children. It has approximately 144 square feet of cozy living space.
Bettie is the blue trailer and resides next to our other vacation rental trailer Darling Daisy. There may be guests staying in Daisy during your stay, so please be careful only to use your designated parking spot and yard area to prevent disturbing other guests who are in close proximity. When checking into the RV please be mindful of noise and be respectful of other guests in close proximity.
Miss Bettie is fully equipped with a dining area, a bathroom, and a VERY SMALL shower and bathroom, as well as a refrigerator and freezer, ice-cold A/C, high-speed Wi-Fi, TV with Amazon Firestick, DVD, and stereo. The kitchenette is stocked with a coffee maker that brews with pods or ground coffee (we only provide tea and coffee pods), small propane stove, microwave, hot plate, and toaster oven with a few pots and pans provided for you to make a small meal. We have basic kitchen needs like cups, plates, a wine opener, and silverware. In the bathroom, we provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash as well as hand soap and a starter pack of paper towels in the kitchen (guests are responsible for additional paper towels for stays exceeding 5 days). We also provide bath towels and RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system.
Outside the trailer, you will find a gorgeous sitting area where you can lounge by the propane firepit and enjoy the view. Grill out some steaks on the charcoal BBQ or roast some marshmallows over the firepit while you lounge on your personal patio.
Guests who are staying more than 5 days will be responsible for providing themselves with any additional products such as coffee, paper towels, and trash bags. There are local grocery stores nearby where you can purchase what you may need. Note: The hosts will provide you with RV toilet paper throughout your stay.
We do allow one dog, but please note that dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the trailer at any time. El Cajon can get very hot and although the AC will cool the trailer down, if it were to break, the trailer would heat up like a hot car and we wouldn't want anything to happen to your fur baby!
We provide a welcome book for you which should answer most of your other questions. Check-in and check-out are simple; an email will be sent a few days before your arrival with detailed instructions. Unfortunately, due to high demand, turnover, and our standard of cleanliness, we are unable to provide late check-out.
The trailer is located off a quiet street with quick freeway access. We are located on a private road and offer a designated parking spot near the trailer and ample street parking for any additional vehicles.
There is a smart lock on the trailer, and we will send you all the entry codes and detailed instructions in the check-in email.
We are a 25-minute drive from San Diego International Airport and Sea World, 25 minutes from Downtown San Diego, and the San Diego Zoo. You can find out about all our favorite places on our website which we will send to you upon booking. Our goal is to help you have as much fun in San Diego as we do!
Bettie is located on the personal residence of your hosts. We will be around, and happy to help with recommendations or directions.
This beautiful trailer is close to so many hiking trails, one hour from Julian where you can enjoy apple pie and super close to the freeway so you can get to the beach very easily from here.
This is definitely a driving neighborhood, or you can easily Uber here. There is parking right in front of the trailer on site.
This is a private residence with two RVs and a tiny home on the property. The owners live in a private residence, and you may come into contact with them. Our two other rentals are available on the same property and are just a short distance from one another. Darling Daisy is a retro-style camper next to Bettie that sleeps 4 people and is a perfect blend of vintage style and modern amenities. Keep in mind that there may be guests staying in Darling Daisy during your stay.
We also hope that you come back and stay at all our properties:

Worked well for what it is. Small space as advertised. Cute, clean and comfortable. Outdoor patio area is a nice addition to that space. Great location to access beaches and downtown. Two night stay with one adult and two kids. Host was friendly and quick to respond via email. Would stay there again.

This place was so fun! I loved having a beachy weekend where I could see my SD friends without staying with them. The trailer was perfect and the location is convenient to everything in Ocean Beach. I was concerned that the airport noise would be a problem, but I turn up the fan on the trailer and it was the perfect white noise. There were cookies, water and coffee all prepared, too. Lots of signs on how to operate everything so no need to do a walk-through with Atalanta if you don’t want to take the time. She’s lovely though!! And even though the trailer is in her backyard, I felt like there was adequate privacy. If you’re looking for a slightly unconventional weekend, in a very bohemian town, you’ll love this place.
