We stayed for a weekend concert. House was lovely and fully stocked with any necessities we needed. We brought our own groceries and found all the utensils and such we needed. Very large and cozy house. Would stay again for sure.

Great property with fun spots to gather outside. Kitchen & living area are on the top floor. Property is about 30 minute drive to most shopping or dinning. Nice, quiet area. The kids enjoyed swimming off the boat slips.

Some uncleanliness in kitchen area and bugs in tubs. Air conditioner failed on main floor which made gathering, cooking, and eating difficult. Also meant one bedroom and bath were not usable. We were asked to avoid using another bath because of existing damage to the tub. Owner responded by phone but did not come to the property to attempt to solve the problem.

Enjoyed our weekend and this home from start to finish. The hosts were very accommodating and very quick to respond! Plenty of space for everyone in our group. Highly recommend!

Everything was great until...
The home was beautiful. It's not directly on the lake, nor is their a lake view as new developments are blocking the lake view now. Everything was great until we left for a few hours, returned to cockroaches covering our fruit and food left on the kitchen counter. It was extremely disappointing. The homeowner was very communicative which was appreciated but the roaches...we are all praying we didn't take any travelers home. She did say that this problem will be corrected on Monday, so if this is corrected definitely a nice property

July 4th
We had family that came into town from FL and TN. Lots of room to entertain and we had a really good time! We were able to watch the community fireworks, it was a great time! It is a beautiful home and we appreciate the hospitality.
There were a handful of things that came up during our stay, we notified Laurie and made her aware so she could take care of them. She was very responsive leading up to our stay and even as we were leaving.

Comfortable house
We rented the house for our daughter’s graduation from Clemson. It was convenient, had plenty of room, the host was responsive and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice house except for the ladybugs.
We stayed here for the last week of 2021 into the new year. The view was pretty decent since the leaves had mostly fallen. There were lots of dead and alive ladybugs and stink bugs in the house. Also there were a few roaches over the course of our stay. The house is very large and was easy for the 8 of us to have out own spaces. The walk to the dock is very steep as noted in the description of the property. 2 of the 3 faucets in the kitchen leak. One toilet seat was broken and the jacuzzi didn't work either. It took multiple days to get a response about the jacuzzi and I was just told. " It worked when I was there last. I'll ask my husband about it" no further correspondence. There is a golf cart in the garage but, it is not allowed to be used by renters. All in all if it hadn't been for the bugs it would have been a very nice place.

Good value
Laurie was so accommodating, and the neighborhood was great! This house is not handicap accessible and if you have little ones, bring some baby gates. The 3rd floor living area did accommodate our large family. Everyone had a blast at the dock fishing and swimming.

Best vacation ever!
This spacious home was a great retreat for all ages. The owner is quick to respond to any questions, even before I booked the property. The driveway had ample room for parking. We parked a Ford Excursion with 22' boat trailer, 12 passenger E-350 van, Nissan Rogue, and Ford Mustang with absolutely no issues. We brought along our Moomba Wakeboard boat and used the ramp approximately 3 miles away at Fair Play Recreation Park. Yes, the walk to the dock is steep. It's also a paved walkway and steps, so it is very well laid out. My parents (in their mid 60's) were not able to manage the walk, so they would drive to the recreation park and we would pick them up at the dock - simple and easy solution. Beautiful home, beautiful area and we will most definitely be back!

You will love staying here!
This is a beautiful home with plenty of room! There were 4 adults and 4 children and we still had an extra bedroom. There is a fire pit with chairs for a campfire. Plenty of sitting areas on the decks. Commercial size fridge and freezer. Beds are very comfortable. Linens and towels are provided. The homeowners are easy to work with and very nice!

Perfect for large groups.
The property is is close to the boat rental place and centrally located in regards to the lake. The house is perched on a hill which means it is a hike to the lake, that said, the hike can be difficult to anyone not in tip-top shape.

Great for boat owners
The walk to the dock is very steep but once you get there be prepared to have fun! The dock has a swing and there is a huge water mat and Kayak you can use. There is power to the dock if you bring your own boat and the neighbors were so friendly.

The house is beautiful! Not close to the lake but it wasn’t a big deal for us. There’s plenty of space for everyone. My group like to watch TV and there’s only 2 in the house. Great for family time. The owner was very nice, house was well stocked but we had our own supplies. Once you get pass all the steps in the house you’ll do fine. The house is not handicap accessible. There’s a commercial refrigerator and Freezer plus an additional refrigerator. There’s No roaches of any kind. We enjoyed sitting around the camp fire. Ice and wood convient, We will stay again everyone in the area was super nice.

It’s about a 2 hour drive from Atlanta and the town (I think) is unincorporated. The nearest Walmart is about 20 minutes away, but the gas stations nearby are very helpful for directions, bait and snacks. The home is beautiful. Everything was very clean and tidy. There are a LOT of stairs. Almost every bedroom has access to a deck right outside and there’s hammocks and other outdoor seating. We brought a lot of food and luckily there are two refrigerators, a deep fryer, a gas grill and a charcoal grill in addition to a fire pit.The beds are comfortable and the skies are clear enough to identify stars at night. We tried walking down to the lake, but it was night time and there’s no lights on the path. It’s a bit steep, so I recommend going during the day only. We met a neighbor while doing so and he was very helpful and welcomed us to the neighborhood for the weekend. We rented a boat from the Harbor Light Marina (about 15 minutes away— go see Brian about rentals!) and spent several hours on the lake (they have 4hr and all-day rentals available) . Laurie also provided us instructions to the house dock, if you BYOB(oat). We had a really great time and I appreciate Laurie opening her home to us!

THERE IS NO LAKE HARTWELL VIEW!!!!! ROACHES,,ROACHES, and you guessed it MORE ROACHES! The coffee pot was dirty and had rotting water in it. (We went out to buy one)My family and I were thoroughly disappointed. From the photos one would think that there is a beautiful view of the lake from this persons property.. There is not! We were misled. The description from the website is false and misleading..all you see are trees , trees , and more trees.. I have been in several Vrbo homes over the years and I can say I have never been disappointed , but this one was so disappointing on so many levels. The home could have been spectacular but hasn't been kept up. A note to advise of where brooms and such were kept would have been nice. We were grateful for being allowed to vacation there but the fees charged was ridiculous because there were no perks to the property.. we were paying for a lakefront view and did not receive one. Sooooo disappointed. Mainly because the house was not clean at all. Spiders and webs was every where....all the eyes on the stove didnt work. Chair was broken also. Top floor has no AC got very hot. Before our stay owner got right back with me but when i called and emailed i got no reply. She only replied whem asked about the golf cart. If i could post pics i would. I would not recommend this home if You want a real lake view and if you want something clean.

Great House and Value on Lake Hartwell
Very big beautiful house across the street from Lake Hartwell. Bedrooms and whole house are nicely appointed. As some other reviews stated the TV was not easy to use but we found it adequate and we did not come to the lake to watch TV. 2 Grills one located right off the kitchen which was very nice. The dock is a short steep, but manageable walk away. You will get some exercise. We took our boat and had no issues using dock and areas around. Swim mat was also provided for use and that was nice to have. Laurie was very responsive and helpful. Everything was ready for us when checking in and her directions and instructions were great. Would recommend for anyone wanting something for a good sized group that is very nice but will still save some money not being right on the lake. Great 3 day vacation away.

Couples Trip 2020
This was an amazing property for our weekend getaway at Lake Hartwell. The house was clean, well stocked, and matched the pictures online perfectly. Very peaceful for some time away from the city. Laurie was an excellent host, very responsive and helpful. Definitely recommend this spot!

Great house for large family!
My family and I came to town to attend a wedding. The house was in a great location and had plenty of space for our large family. I hosted a dinner after the wedding for additional family to join us and the upstairs was plenty spacious. The porches and views were relaxing. The stairs will get you when you are hauling luggage and groceries - LOL! We had a great time!

Not exactly what was advertised
The house is beautiful on the inside, but some of the railings on the decks are loose which was scary with children. We could not see the lake except a tiny sliver from the the top floor deck. We looked for instructions for staying at the house, using the television, finding the dock, etc. We could tell the general direction of the lake, but were unable to determine how to get to the lake/dock. I texted the owner and while awaiting a response wandered around the neighborhood in search of the dock. We went down a grassy area and found a dock but it did not match the pictures from the listing. I was literally wandering around with the VRBO listing pulled up so I could try to identify the correct dock. I finally went down a sidewalk-looking path in between 2 other homes across the street from this home. The path was very steep and difficult to walk, even for fairly fit members of our party. We finally found the dock and only knew it was correct due to the photos. We were disappointed with the distance from the lake and dock and with the difficulty of the walk. It did not seem like the "lakefront amenities" advertised.
Once we found the dock, we went back to the home and tried to use the television. There was a delay due to needing the surround sound and I had to contact the owner for instruction. This could have easily been addressed in a welcome note or packet.
I later wondered how we could get the advertised kayak down to the lake and was told by the owner that she would "think about it" and get back to me. I couldn't believe that she advertised a kayak and didn't think about how her guests would get it to the lake!! She told me the next day that 2 members of our party should carry it down the steep hill and then back up to the garage before we left. When I mentioned how steep the hill was she suggested renting a "buggy" for $50/day and gave me the name of someone.
Our plan for the week was to wake up in the morning and let our kids swim while we watched them and enjoyed the "beautiful lake views" and sipped coffee on the deck. This is not the home for that vacation.
Another thing is that 2 previous reviews have mentioned problems with a can opener and there is not a can opener now. There are minimal pots and pans and we had to wash the same pan multiple times daily.
Being up front about the lake of lake view and inconvenient access to the dock and lake, along with a little info sheet about the television and dock access would do wonders.

They made it easy
The owners made everything simple and easy for us. They provided everything we could need, and then some. There was more than enough room for the 8 of us. The house was beautiful, the pictures didn't do it justice!

Good vacation place for larger groups
The home was clean and large. The top floor is set up nicely for larger groups (10) to cook, eat, hang out and watch TV. The TV/Sound system/Cable is a bit complicated to turn on and needs to have some instructions left behind.
The five bedrooms and 3 full baths plus two half baths worked out well for our family. It is a beautiful home and in a nice setting. A few things of note, the house is three stories with stairs and the main living and kitchen is on the third floor. The private dock is actually across the street and down a pretty long and very steep incline. I am in my mid fifties and found it difficult to come back up that incline.
There is a sliver of a lake view from the top floor of the front of the house, but the pictures seem to indicate a much more majestic lake view. That may have been the case several years ago before the trees matured. The kitchen fridge is large and wonderful for stocking up; gas grill worked great and is just outside the kitchen. Kitchen table is large with a balcony right outside the dining room. The home needs a new coffee pot - that one did not work well at all and I am a coffee lover. Missing a can opener (which is easily fixed). Plenty of dishes and glasses - adequate silverware; minimal pots for cooking and a new teflon skillet would be nice.
The garage was nice for storing our bikes (large) but the doors are in need of repair and did not lock.
The homeowner is very responsive and very sweet. If not for the three flights of stairs in the home and the lake being across the street with the steep incline to dock, I would rent again.

Lakeside retreat
Perfect place to get away from it all and just relax at the lake. Fishing, swimming, floating. No phone, no work, no worries. Fully stocked house with all you need to restart the engine. Just bring food and beverage! We stayed 5days and rarely saw another person. AC worked great, beds comfy, kitchen was great. Private, quiet, natural setting. Massive house with lots of room. We fished ,boated, paddle boarded, swam, rode floating mats and had no time for TV! What a blast. Laurie was very nice and helpful and always available. Lot of activities nearby as well.

Gorgeous home for a getaway at the lake
Laurie’s home is absolutely beautiful!! Lots of porches- every room/bedroom walks out to a deck/porch. The kitchen is awesome!! The huge commercial fridge was perfect for our large group- plus another fridge on the bottom floor! We also really enjoyed the large dining table- perfect for meals and card games:) plenty of room outside for setting up the kiddie pool and slide for our little ones plus access to the community dock. We had a blast on the boat we rented for 3 days!! We brought a couple golf carts with us which made getting to the dock easier and faster but they weren’t absolutely necessary. The kitchen/ living area is on the third floor so we all got to work off our vacay munching going up and down the stairs :) Hope we have the opportunity to visit this perfect lake vacation home again in the future!!

Great weekend get away!
We enjoyed our time here. The house was clean and large enough for our group. One draw back is the hike up and down the hill to the community dock. We definitely got our work out. Overall we had a great time.

Great place to entertain with awesome lake views
We had 5 couples spend New Years together at your beautiful home. The accommodations were spacious with plenty of room for us all not to feel cramped. We found the home to be very clean. There were a few items missing in the kitchen for cooking purposes and the can opener had some issues but other than that it was very functional to cook over the three night stay. The bedrooms on three levels were also very spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. As a note, you do get a great workout coming up/down the three levels of stairs.

Great place for family gathering!
Our family of 11 gathered for the week of Thanksgiving 2018. We had the best time. Very open kitchen, living room and dining area. Bedrooms are spacious. Short drive from Atlanta area. Only thing that would have made it perfect - closer to the lake.

Beautiful, Peaceful, All You Need for Family Getaway
This home is beautiful!
Our family recently stayed in this home for Clemson homecoming weekend. It was spacious, comfortable and the beds were great. All the needs and comforts of home.
We had one issue with the satellite to get it working, but with one quick phone call to Laurie, the home owner, it was resolved within 15 minutes and we were enjoying the TV with surround sound.
Waking up in the morning to beautiful sunrises were also a plus!
Definitely recommend this home and will rent again when we return to SC.

All things were perfect except for no WiFi and we couldn’t get the satellite to work. Aside from that, no complaints
