Stayed here with my partner and my sister and nephews for the Hyannis 2 triathalon, great house with lots of space.

Very pleased with rental. Affordable for the size. If I should ever go back I’d rent again

Roomy, relaxed and comfortable.
Everything was great! The weatherman even allowed us to enjoy the outdoor patio for part of our stay. I always like it when the Host leaves some items for our use (salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc). Less things to purchase at the grocery store. Thanks, Steve.

Great stay
This house was exactly what we were looking for during our stay at Cape Cod. It was clean and had all the things you’d expect from a rental. Owner was available and responsive.

Great house, attentive owner
The house is super spacious and has all the amenities.
Due to a miscommunication, the house had not been cleaned, but Steve promptly apologized and refunded the cleaning fee. The size and layout of the house was perfect for a girls' weekend. Would stay again!

Comfortable house
We had a very nice week at this house. It's in a quiet neighborhood but very convenient to Craigsville Beach as well as shopping & other activities. There was plenty of room for our family of four to spread out and with the upstairs master bedroom suite the layout would work well for two families or extended families. The yard backs up to several other yards but was very peaceful and quiet with birds and bunnies to watch, and the neighborhood is sidewalked and residential. The house was reasonably clean and the beds were all made when we arrived (the inclusion of towels and linens was much appreciated!), but there was some food left behind in the fridge that probably shouldn't have been (half drunk soda bottles & such). The main down side was that the location is on a flight path with planes flying overhead throughout the day. One clear days this wasn't a big issue, but on cloudy days the planes fly lower and it was quite loud at times. Overall we had a great vacation here and the owner was great about communicating when we had questions.

Great Location
The house was just as we expected. It was very nice and there were lots of towels, pillows and sheets for us to use as well as kitchen supplies. The owner does a great job paying attention to detail.

Great location but house needs some TLC
Pros: The rental LOCATION is great, and within walking distance (~ 30 minutes) to the beach. The house overall is a great size, and fit our party of 4 adults and 1 child easily. The off-street location was very quiet.
Cons: Overall we found the house to be quite dirty, and the linens in need of replacement. All the towels (that remain - some may have been taken by previous tenants) are thin, with many bleach stains and some holes. The sheets do not fit on the beds, and there were no liners between the mattress and the sheet. My mom found mold in the air conditioner vents of the upstairs bedroom, and the upstairs bedroom closet was filled with stacks of old tvs and other supplies. There were a previous renter's underwear and a bra left in one of the upstairs bedroom drawers. There were no towel holders in the downstairs bathroom, and the rugs and couches are stained and dirty. Some windows did not open. The lawn was not mowed - which normally would not be a big deal, except that there was poison ivy in many areas that prevented us from playing in the yard with our son.
We notified the owner of our concerns. He does not live locally to the rental so he was not able to deliver new linens. We also wanted to let him know so that he could be aware that his cleaning service was not doing a thorough job. We were not looking for any money to be refunded due to our concerns about the state of the rental.

House was dirty and beware of getting charged more
I've rented from many different properties and I am usually not the type to write a bad review even if there were issues. As long as the owner is nice and helpful, I would still leave a decent review. This was NOT the experience I got from the owner. The house is pretty old and not that clean, but you get what you pay for. The issues I encountered were mostly about the owner and the house being a dirty. You can't fix the house being old, but you can definitely clean the place better.
PROS: Fast response from owner and cost was lower than other properties
CONS:
1) Last room on the 1st floor was not the as pictured; it was a bunk bed instead of twin beds
2) Owner sent the wrong wifi password and when asked about it, he asked me to check previous email when previous email had wrong password. He did not even apologize. Most owners have a book with instructions and wifi information but this place did not have anything.
3) Owner did not send info like code access to key and wifi login until I asked which was a few hours prior to my arrival.
4) House was not that clean. We found a bra and panties in one of the drawers. The couches were stained and did not have the covers as shown in photos.
5) The house is old with loose knobs on doors.
6) Some beds were not made. It is not a big deal but we arrived really late at night so it would've been nice if the beds were already made.
7) BEWARE of payment issues. I ended up paying extra because the owner charged me a Service Fee even though Homeaway already charged me separately for it. I contacted the owner about this and he said "Homeaway never separated out their fee to a renter." and refused to give me a refund. I contacted Homeaway directly and they said they I was indeed charged separately because owner was not enrolled with their Online Payment facility.
In summary, I wouldn't have given such a bad review but the owner was not helpful and rude. He tried to blame me on the payment issues even though he was the one requesting these payments and making mistakes.

Adequate, no-frills accommodations
If you are looking for an average-priced, no frills accommodation on the Cape near Hyannis- look no further. House was relatively clean (not “meticulously” as stated in a response to a previous review, but the basics were covered): clean linens/furniture, clean tubs, toilet, sinks and floors.
General notes:
This home could fit more than the party of 6 we had, but the sofa bed in the loft has poor support at foot of pull-out.
The sheets and towels were left clean in the laundry closet. Beds were not made (minor inconvenience as we arrived late but we did not inform the leaser of this ahead of time). Can’t confirm if coverlets we’re clean as they were left lying over the beds. King bed upstairs may be new but it squeaks and groans terribly.
Plenty of heating/cooling options but not sure if 1st floor AC works (cover was off on the floor and unit is well-above head height- we did not use as nights were cool and we opened windows instead).
Not a lot of hot water. 2-3, 5-7 min showers are all that can be accomplished within the morning.
Quiet area. Respectful neighbors on our stay.
Parking for 2-3 cars if allowed.
Leaser left basic foods (condiments and such, drinks) and basic cooking staples (oil, coffee, spices, etc) which was MUCH appreciated! Thank you.
Basic clean up supplies available. (Broom, mop, dish supplies).
Grill on premises - did not use this stay but it looked new and ready to use.
Lawn was unmowed and quite high but we were on the go during day time so we did not need lawn space for games, etc.
Few suggestions for the leaser:
Some of the towels are threadbare and in general, clean ready made beds are almost always appreciated by weary travelers.
I realize this is likely also used as a family vacation home but it did appear to have dirty, personal clothing on the top shelf of the laundry closet. They were out of the way, but it may not sit well with other, more picky travelers.
Listing states that final information will be sent to renters one week prior to stay. We had to reach out for all missing info (you were VERY quick to respond, however!) but again, pickier travelers may expect more preemptive communications for stellar reviews.
Thank you for your hospitality!
Erica

We had a lovely time. The property was clean and spacious. Enjoyed ourselves.
Thank you for the opportunity to rent this property. We enjoyed our stay. Spacious, overall clean and comfortable. Nice sunny rooms, we loved having access to wi-fi and cable. The bedding needed to be changed upon arrival. It was nice to have a washer and dryer accessible. Upon leaving, we cleaned and changed the linen in the level 1, two single bedroom. The master bedroom on 1st floor linen taken off and linen to be cleaned was left on top of the washing machine. We had an enjoyable time and it was very nice being close to the beaches and fishing. Would love to stay again in the future. Our organizations retreat ended up being great bonding and planning time, with awesome breakout sessions. Thank you for opening your home to be rented and enjoyed.

Good location but needed a good cleaning. Grill was very old and rusted so couldn't use it. Bathrooms were moldy in the shower areas and old dirty towels hanging in them. Fridge had
food left in it that was expired and fridge was dirty. Definitely needed some tlc

Great property, as advertised!
Very large, plenty of space. We need to spend more time in future; hope to return. Then we could take more advantage of beaches, etc. Quiet, out of the way, well stocked in kitchen.

The home was described perfectly. Everything was clean and in working order.
Only wished we were closer to water but Hyannis is easily negotiated. Appreciated the beach pass but did not need it after Labor Day.

Excellent House and Location
The house is large with a Master Suite consisting of a bedroom, sitting area, master bath with Jacuzzi and a private deck. The lower level has two additional bedrooms, a bath, living room, kitchen and dining room. The is also a first floor deck with a BBQ. It's five minutes from Craigsville Beach and downtown Hyannis. We enjoyed our stay.

Good!
We are happy with the kitchen, living room, dining room, and the deck. The only thing we hope to improve is the linens. The overall experience is very good. We enjoyed the trip and stay.

Nice house for family vacation
We enjoyed our stay at Steve's vacation home. The location is close to supermarket and gas stations. It's about 15-30 minutes drive to most of the beaches in Barnstable and Dennis/Yarmouth. The house has most of the things you need for an extended stay. The A/C works, though a bit noisy. We loved the deck and the used the grill several times! Steve was very easy to work with and respond very promptly to our requests.

Enjoyed our stay
This property is convenient to everything. The neighbors were very friendly and the neighborhood was quiet. The house had pretty much everything we needed for our one week stay. The deck was a great place to have coffee in the morning and conversation in the evening. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
