Below you will find details about our 4 bed/ 4 bath vacation home, The Grande House PLUS STUDIO, located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Ocean Beach just a few blocks from Sunset Cliffs!
This lovely large home with it's spacious backyard, BBQ and deck is perfect for your next family vacation. It features a large private fenced in yard for enjoying the outdoor California lifestyle. We invite your fur children to stay too because this home is pet-friendly!
The Grande House is 2572 sq ft with large rooms and there is a 200 sq ft detached guest studio studio with it's own TV, fireplace and bathroom with shower. This an ideal place for families that need more private sleeping spaces. There is plenty of space for family togetherness but you can also find private areas for individual quiet time.
Downstairs is the living room with a wood burning fireplace that opens up to the California style kitchen. Enjoy watching movies and TV on the large 52" flat screen TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large island with a gas stove top. There are two bedrooms located downstairs. The front bedroom has a queen size bed and a bunk bed with two single beds. The back bedroom has a queen size bed that opens up to the backyard with french doors. There is also a bathroom with a shower tub combination located ensuite. There is 1 bathroom between these 2 bedrooms with 2 sinks and a tub shower combination.
Climb up the stairs to the den with a queen size sofa bed, wood-burning fireplace and library. The large master bedroom is also upstairs with a king size bed, 42" TV, sofa/daybed and a large private balcony. The master bathroom has dual sinks, a jacuzzi tub, separate glass shower, plus a huge walk-in closet! The detached Studio has a queen bed, 42" TV, wood-burning fireplace and bathroom with shower. The garage and driveway will fit three cars. The laundry area is in the garage.
We can provide an air conditioning unit for an additional fee. Please contact us to reserve the inventory.
The home is just 3-8 miles from almost everything San Diego has to offer - Old Town, Pt Loma Cabrillo Monument and Light House, SeaWorld, downtown Gaslamp District, Little Italy, Seaport Village and the famous San Diego Zoo located in the beautiful Balboa Park! They are all just a short drive away, as is the San Diego airport!

Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a 'starter kit' to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store. We can provide a portable a/c for an additional fee, contingent on availability. Please contact us to reserve one in our limited inventory as soon as possible. Deliveries are scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers with or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.

Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.
To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.
This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

We recently had the pleasure of staying and celebrating a 2024 New Year at The Grande House plus Studio in Point Loma, and it truly exceeded all expectations for a perfect vacation retreat. This charming property is ideally located, being close to the Cabrillo national park and numerous local attractions, making it an excellent choice for those seeking both relaxation and adventure and local restaurants.
One of the standout features of The Grande House is its spacious layout, comfortably accommodating a group of 10. The tastefully decorated interiors exude warmth and charm, creating a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The addition of the attached studio provides an extra level of privacy, making it an ideal option for larger groups or families.
Even dough we traveled without our dog that time, there is a dog-friendly backyard with fire pit and a gas grill.
The owner provided a few bicycles, which we used to ride to the shore and to the Shelter Island.
The proximity to the shore is another major advantage of this vacation house. A short and scenic walk takes you to the water's edge, allowing for breathtaking views and tranquil moments by the sea. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, beach lover, or someone simply seeking a peaceful escape, The Grande House offers the perfect balance.
The Grande House plus Studio in Point Loma is a gem of a vacation rental. Its combination of proximity to natural wonders, local attractions, and a pet-friendly.

This home was perfect for celebrating my dads 60th birthday. The rooms are very spacious and the home had everything we needed. The kitchen especially came in handy. The location was absolutely perfect for getting around to OB, downtown, abd mission beach. I was thankful they provided plenty of beach chairs and bikes. My only suggestion would be to look at the plumbing in the private guest house out back. Thats the room i stayed in and it had a very strong water mildew smell and the shower has trouble draining. I was able to cover the smell with air freshner and room scents. Good out weighed the bad. Very nice and comfortable stay.

We really enjoyed staying at Sunset Cliffs. Minutes from so much of what we wanted to do in SD. Great location and nice home.
The back home was a little underwhelming and could use an update but still comfortable.

Communication with rental agents was fantastic. Beautiful house great location just blocks from the ocean. Very quiet neighborhood loved the landscaping and lemon and orange trees. Plenty of room for our families and don’t think we had any complaints or problems during our one week visit.

This home was great because it had 4 bedrooms with ensuite baths. Sadly, the photos do not always match the current home.
The home was much darker inside and the blinds are hit and miss as far as working order. Hard to use and get that light. The master bath has several lights out. It is dark in that bathroom because there are no lights above the mirror on the vanity. All lights are cans in the ceiling and several are out.
The pictures of the yard are inaccurate. the furniture is gone and there is a lot of over growth so not so open and bright.
The kitchen is spacious but the sink faucet needs fixing or replacing. The management company claims that it only provides a Keurig but to our delight, there was a regular drip coffee maker.
Please make note....There is no HVAC...A/C and it can get warm at night.
Some of the baths have drainage issues, the studio/casita outside backs up in the sink and shower.
Overall, it is an awesome location but the pictures are old and deceiving. Suggest you just park in the driveway and do not mess with the garage.

Family Wedding Stay
This home is in a good neighborhood with a very short walk to the Sunset Cliffs. The house was beneficial because it had 4 bedrooms with ensuite baths, this was great for 4 adult couples.
The pictures of this property must be very old though. When in the home it is not as light and bright, the blinds are in some disrepair and hard to open and close. The master bath is dark because there is no lighting over the vanity mirror. There are only canned lights in the ceiling. and several were not working.
Some of the bedrooms had slow draining sinks/showers The bathroom in the studio/casita was the worst. The back yard looks very different. The outdoor furniture is not there and there is more vegetation growth so not as open.
The kitchen is very large and easy to move around. The sink faucet sprayer is in need of repair/replacement. The management company says that there is only a Keurig coffee maker but we did happily find a regular brew style coffee maker. There was adequate toilet paper provided but no kleenex. If you do actually plan to cook, you will need to provide oil and seasonings. We did not utilize the grill, fireplaces, bikes or fire pit. I recommend parking in the driveway and not bothering with the garage. Overall, the house fit our needs for this trip, just wish it had been a bit more accurate with the pictures.

Family Wedding Stay
This home was great because it had 4 bedrooms with ensuite baths. Sadly, the photos do not always match the current home.
The home was much darker inside and the blinds are hit and miss as far as working order. Hard to use and get that light. The master bath has several lights out. It is dark in that bathroom because there are no lights above the mirror on the vanity. All lights are cans in the ceiling and several are out.
The pictures of the yard are inaccurate. the furniture is gone and there is a lot of over growth so not so open and bright.
The kitchen is spacious but the sink faucet needs fixing or replacing. The management company claims that it only provides a Keurig but to our delight, there was a regular drip coffee maker.
Please make note....There is no HVAC...A/C and it can get warm at night.
Some of the baths have drainage issues, the studio/casita outside backs up in the sink and shower.
Overall, it is an awesome location but the pictures are old and deceiving. Suggest you just park in the driveway and do not mess with the garage.

As a family who lives to cook we planned meals in advance for 7 people. Upon arrival we tried to use the stove top, one burner did not work. I called to let the company know and was told please do not use the Stove top it is very dangerous!!!! Had I not called I would not have known this!! This fiasco with the stove went in the majority of the trip. We were leaving in a Sunday and on Friday they finally replaced the stove top. However, the replacement required cutting the countertop! Fine dust left everywhere and we had to scrub down everything!!!
All this in addition to having to now disregard the former prepared meals and eat out for 7 people.
Company refunded $504 , an insufficient amount considering the danger involved in not telling us about the stove, the inconvenience of our dining plans , the clean up time spent after the new stove top was put in and the aggravation of being on the phone constantly with the company instead of enjoying my vacation!
Be very careful dealing with the company associated with this property- Nancy’s Vacation !

Ideallic San Diego Location
We had a wonderful time escaping to the sunshine during the week of Thanksgiving. The house had everything we needed and was a super quick walk to Sunset Cliffs, and easy drive to the beach, and located in a quiet neighborhood. We will be back!

This house worked great for our group. A couple of the pictures were slightly inaccurate so we had to improvise with the sleeping arrangements. There was no futon in the granny pod and the upstairs loft area futon is very old and not useable for sleeping. But overall was a great place to stay, very very clean and we would stay again.

Perfect multi family home
This property was the perfect rental for our extended family there were four separate sleeping areas each with its own full bath. The kitchen was well stocked and very roomy to accommodate a large family. Nice seating area in back yard and enclosed so safe for kids to play. Just blocks from sunset cliffs and beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Pictures represented the house accurately. The home is very close to the Cliffs and we enjoyed its location in Point Loma. Jensen’s grocery store is 5 minutes away and very convenient for family shopping.

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious home. It's a great layout for multiple families, as there are plenty of bathrooms and well-arranged bedrooms. We appreciated the abundance of kitchen utensils and the high quality appliances, as we cooked almost every breakfast and dinner during our week-long stay. The furniture has been changed from what is shown in the listing photos, so it's not quite as stylish as it appears online, but we were satisfied with what was provided. We had two young children (1 and 3 years old) in our party, and felt very safe letting them play in the area without having to helicopter over them too much. The backyard is small, but we spent most of our time exploring San Diego, so it was enough for us! There are several great nearby restaurants with delivery service (not walking distance, but close enough for a quick turnaround via Uber Eats), and close to the cliffs for a scenic beach walk. We would definitely stay at this location again!

Great Location!
We were a group of 6 guys visiting San Diego to attend a conference at the San Diego Convention Center, and this house was perfect. Plenty of space to spread out and relax after a long day. The location was terrific, just a few blocks walk to the cliffs and a fantastic cafe called Little Lion. If you are looking for more action, hop on a bird and scooter to downtown OB in minutes. Plenty of local breweries , shops, and restaurants.

Live that San Diego Life!
We rented this home along with my sister and brother-in-law, parents, and the five grandkids (one was an infant, so we stayed in the spirit of the 10-person maximum). Our week was ideal in every way. The home is centrally located to all the sights we wanted to see; the kitchen was perfect for all the adults to gather in and cook together; the backyard is a little oasis - our favorite memory will be how we opened the doors and flowed inside and outside for meals on the patio. That was what spoke WEST COAST LIFE to me.The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, within walking distance of the cliffs. We enjoyed a family stroll each evening.
Coming from the Deep South where we love our chilled homes in summer, we were concerned about the lack of air conditioning. Thankfully, fans are provided (though they're a bit noisy). You MUST leave the windows open with the blinds drawn through the day, however. Once we learned how to cool the house off, we were comfortable. The beds and bedding are of good quality and we slept decently well. The guest house, however, can be sweltering. You might not want to depend on it if you're renting in July or August.
This home is spacious and attractive; however, it is showing some cosmetic issues and wear and tear as one could expect after multiple renters. Do note: We had an appliance issue during our visit, but one call to the managing company and it was immediately addressed.
We would stay here again, but we might try to book in June.

Great house and location
My family loved our time in San Diego at the house on Granger street. It’s a little further from the beach than we had expected, but that didn’t really pose a problem. The house is big and airy and provided plenty of room for our group of 7. The outdoor table is perfect for evening meals. The kitchen is huge and had lots of supplies. My only criticisms are of the stove top, which just really needs to be replaced, and the water and ice maker where their design led to repeated water spills. The upstairs master is enormous and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this house, and I would stay there again.

Lovely, immaculate house with plenty of room for family and friends.
The house feels so much larger than it is. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. The upstairs is like a master suite retreat. We had 8 adults in our group and we never felt crowded or cramped. The kitchen was a dream to cook and serve in. Our family was visiting San Diego to celebrate my daughters graduation from SDSU and the house was the perfect fit for the BBQ get together. Everyone who walked into the house said "Wow! What a great house!" The beds were super comfy and our adult son loved having the cottage all to himself. We also loved the location... It was conveniently close to all of the places we went. I just can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you for making our trip seamless and so enjoyable.

While the management company was helpful in furnishing a shower bench, the one they left would not fit in either of the first floor showers! With just a few changes, this house could be wheelchair friendly, attracting a much larger clientele. Changes needed: Ramp to enter/exit house, Grab bars for toilets and showers, Handheld shower head in shower. fyi: bed in front bedroom is a usable height, but in the back bedroom the bed is too high to get into. The master suite on the second floor is very nice. The shower in the "Granny pad" is too small to turn around in. While we did not use the bicycles, the tire pump was very handy for inflating tires on the wheelchair. Minor maintenance issues that should be addressed: seal on dryer falls out, many of the wands on blinds are missing or do not work, sink stopper in downstairs front bathroom is broken, left sink in upstairs bath was running slowly, HDMI cable missing on livingroom TV . We liked having games available.

Great house in an outstanding location
The location of the property is simply amazing. It is a couple of blocks from the cliffs overlooking the ocean, and a mile from the business hub of one of the coolest neighborhoods in San Diego, with wonderful places to eat and play. The house is beautiful with all of the modern amenities, clean, and well- maintained, and very comfortable. It was a great home away from home as our group (faculty and graduate students from our university) came to attend a large research conference.
