About this cottage rental
The two barns at Little Howle Farm (Acorn and Rivington) are stunning high-end barn conversions. Our neighbours are cows and sheep, we have stunning views, peace, calm and tranquility. We are perfectly placed between the Wye Valley and The Forest of Dean. A 5 minute drive from Ross on Wye with its many pubs, restaurants, shops and of course, watersports on the river Wye.
We provide a weclome pack which includes Milk from a local Farm, Westons cider (great day out), a snack, tea, coffee and sugar.
Acorn Cottage has one double bedroom with luxury ensuite bathroom and can also can be configured with a king size bed or two single beds. The bathroom includes a bath and generous, separate shower. We provide luxury fluffy bath sheets, hand towels, flannels and bath mats. The living area is situated upstairs and is completely open plan to include lounge, dining and kitchen areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. We provide tea towels, dish cloths/sponge, oven gloves and apron as well as cleaning products. There is a back door which opens out on to the orignal barn steps leading to the garden.
There are a couple of games, a puzzle, local information, suggested walks and OS maps in each cottage.
A patio area is provided directly outside of the cottage which is a lovely place to sit as it is sheltered and gets the sun all day. A barbeque and fire pit area is around the rear of the cottage along with a large lawned area and a sun terrace at the top of the garden over looking the Malvern Hills. There is very little light pollution in Howle Hill so the terrace is perfect for star gazing.
Plenty of on site parking is available. We have games room/bar (unstocked) with table tennis table, table football, many board games and also outdoor games which guests are welcome to borrow. We also have a laundry room should guests need it.
Acorn Cottage can be linked internally with Rivington Barn which adds a further 2 double ensuite bedrooms and will then sleep 6.

Acorn Cottage is a wonderful retreat for 2.
It is in a great location, and has every amenity you could wish for.
It is close to Ross-on-Wye with plenty of shops and Supermarkets should you need extra's.
We were warmly welcomed by Pam & Geoff the owners.
Couldn’t recommend this property more.

Wow what a fantastic place.
If you want piece and quite in comfort then this is the place for you. It’s in a very quite place out in the country side piece and quite.
The cottage is very comfortable with all that you need. We slept so well going past 9 o’clock every morning due to the piece and quite.
Star gazing, country walks fresh air it’s all here.
A short drive takes on to Ross on Wye town with all that you need , pubs, restaurants and tea shops.
You must see Simonds Yat, park up and walk to the top fantastic views.
Pam and Geoff are great hosts and live just across the yard, they are there if you need them but you never see them , they leave you to enjoy your holiday.
Canoeing down the Wye is a must , we didn’t do this as the river was to high and dangerous, we are going back to do this.
We are booked in for next year, can’t wait.

Weve been to little howle farm before and loved it, so we were thrilled to be able to come back and stay for a post-Christmas relax. The property was exactly as we remembered it from last time and we had a lovely stay - thankyou! The property has everything you could think of needing for a self catered experience and is so cosy.
Knocked one star off the check in process because noone was around when we tried to drop the keys back on check out and we didnt really know what to do! Didnt impact upon the overall outcome of our wonderful stay though.

Ross-on-Wye Holiday
We found the property quaint and yet modern internally, everything was provided, and if you did require anything you just had to ask Amanda and Derek. The holiday cottage was under two miles from Ross-on-Wye, which was very convenient, also you were in the middle of the Wye valley, overall very nice.

Amanda and Derek were brilliant hosts. From the moment we arrived their commitment to their guests was clear. The property has been refurbished to a high standard with lots of small touches to make it interesting. The grounds are good for sitting out and enjoying the weather and a glass of something. It was a joy to chat to Amanda and Derek around the property and their advice on places to eat and where to go was spot on. Highly recommended.

DELIGHT AT ACORN COTTAGE
On a scale of one to five stars our stay at Acorn Cottage should be graded a six. Amanda and Derek could not have been more welcoming, going well above what one might expect, and the accommodation was absolutely splendid. It was scrupulously clean, beautifully presented, and lacked for absolutely nothing in the way of fixtures and appliances to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. We recommend our hosts and the cottage to anybody.

Steve & Melissa.
We arrived at the cottage and were immediately welcomed by Amanda. Made us feel very comfortable, took us on a tour of the cottage we were staying in and made sure we knew where everything was and how it worked etc! Our first day there, we had fresh warm bread delivered to us in the morning, went very well with the homemade marmalade they had given us! The whole cottage was immaculate and very clean. It was like walking into a home! It was a very joyous experience and a perfect holiday for me and my partners 1st anniversary. We will definitely be returning next year for our next anniversary if not sooner! Thank you again Amanda & Derek. You really have the perfect holiday getaway!!

Acorn Cottage is a delightful stay for a couple. It is beautifully decorated, has all mod cons and is extremely comfortable. The facilities are excellent and the surrounding country-side is a great area to explore. Beautiful cottage in wonderful setting.
Cottage was beautifully finished with everything you needed for a relaxing stay. Amanda was welcoming and I am sure would have been there to help if we needed her, but left us to our own devices once we were settled. Would return in a flash! Lovely area - just what we needed.

Wonderful
We stayed at Little Howle Farm from Monday 10th July for five days. We had a great welcome from Amanda. On our first day Amanda popped over with home made scones with cream and jam. We stayed in Acorn cottage for two people, which was lovely, everything you need, plenty of space and very comfortable beds with white cotton bedding - perfect. The Farm is situated perfectly for days out in this lovely area, Malvern was georgous. Would definitely recommend and will be going back

Terrific!
We stayed in Acorn Barn for a week in mid May, everything was simply delightful. It was beautifully furnished with a very comfy bed, excellent fittings and furnishings and a wonderful attention to the little details which made it such a delightful place to stay. Amanda looked after us brilliantly and we so enjoyed the generous welcome pack and bottle of wine on arrival! We would not hesitate to recommend Little Howle Farm for a wonderful holiday base to explore the Wye Valley and to meet Amanda who puts her all into making sure her guests have the best possible holiday experience! We will be back!
