About this house rental
I hate to brag so I am going to guote some current guests - "The love put into this home fills our hearts." The Jones Family from Tacoma. "You have such a lovely home - thank you for your charming home and your southern hospitality" Family from Boise.
Now for specifics - it's about 2800SF - 3 bedrooms/2 baths (one bedroom on the main floor w/ a queen bed). Bedrooms upstairs have a double and California king beds- huge rooms with dormers. Back to the downstairs - large country kitchen with eating area and sun room (and yes there is sunshine in Oregon!). Walk thru the French doors to a large deck and fire pit.
About 1/3 acre fenced lot. There is also a covered patio for entertaining year around outside the huge family room(with a gas stove) which is on the other end of the home from the kitchen area. Formal dining room and living room (with fireplace) if you are in the mood! Very traditional style - homey, warm and comfortable.
Close to shopping - downtown Portland and the wine country. Just an hour and a half from the coast which is a must see as well as Mt Hood and the Columbia Gorge. Bend, Oregon is just 3 hours away as is Seattle, Washington - so there is alot to see and do. You will love the area as well as my home!

We enjoyed this stay so much. The house was clean and had so many great hang out spots both inside and outside! We really enjoyed the backyard space. The location was very nice and the neighborhood was quiet but still close to downtown Portland and many other great areas.

We were 3 couples and stayed here 3 nights. The home is spacious both inside and outside. Barbara was very responsive to messages and was a welcoming host, leaving us wine, cheese & crackers, and some baked goods. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked and had everything we needed.

This house was great for our needs. We were in town for a softball tournament- the location was close to all the fields we played it. Barbara was great, she left us treats and made contact the day after we got there! Nothing negative to say!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this property. The house is spacious and makes you welcome, from the decor to the comfort of every room. It’s just wonderful. And the kitchen is FULLY stocked with all the necessary appliances, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc, you won’t want for anything. The backyard is so relaxing with its beautiful landscaping and covered patio for those rainy days. And Barbara is a wonderful host making sure you have everything you need and communicates quickly. This is definitely a home you want to stay at.

Barbara was a great host. My family stayed here a year or so ago and loved the house, the hospitality and the neighborhood. I'm sure we'll be back again before too long!!

Barbara’s house is our favorite! This was our second stay and it was once again amazing! We’re a group ages from 11 to 75 and the house has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space! We also like to cook and the kitchen is extremely well stocked.
Unfortunately, it rained everyday of our stay so we didn’t get to enjoy the backyard except for grilling on the covered patio, but the yard is huge.
We’re already planning our next stay!

This home is amazingly comfortable- there are reading areas both inside and outside, including luscious couches and a garden with gorgeous flowers and several outdoor eating areas. Our hostess was amazing- lots of treats, lots of towels and quick answers to every question. Check-in was a breeze, I can't recommend this home enough!

Property was great. Super convenient for everything we wanted to do. Host was awesome, they had extras for us, and left detailed communication.

House was clean and very roomy. We didn’t use outdoor amenities provided since we were gone most of the day. We all enjoyed our stay.
The only thing that confused us was the light switches.

We absolutely loved our stay. My brother in law thought this warranted being a destination vacation as the home was so welcoming, and the perfect place to relax and be reminded of a simpler time in life. Be sure to bring a quarter for the beautiful player piano in the back room. We were there for a family wedding. There were a plethora of preparation activities and social engagements which were all wonderful, but exhausting. It was so delightful to return to this peaceful home at the end of each day and just unwind. Barbara is a thoughtful host and her communication was excellent. We will definitely return if we find ourselves needing a place to stay in the Portland area again. Highly recommend.

Me and my family had a great time at Barbara’s and was pleasantly surprised to show up to the home after a long drive to grab homemade dessert! The house was filled with beautiful antiques and decor that we could sit down and look at all day in the beautiful sun room. Barbara went above and beyond to make us feel cozy and welcomed and we will definitely book again !

Barbara has a lovely home. We needed to stay locally during a home renovation project and I'm so thankful that we ended up at Barbara's. The location is ideal (very close to restaurants, the Fanno Creek Trail and the fantastic Summerlake and Dirksen parks) but the house is a treasure. My kids enjoyed exploring the house, which we were lucky enough to stay during the holidays - it was tastefully and beautifully decorated, my dog love exploring the big backyard, my husband was comfortable working from the home office and I found navigating the kitchen completely easy. Last but not least, Barbara is an exceptional host. She thoughtfully left goodies in the fridge and around the house, easy to read instructions for managing the house, and was very responsive and helpful when needed. I would highly recommend Barbara's lovely house (and have already to friends who might need a local rental)...and am considering more home renovations for an excuse to stay at her house again.

Great space to spread out with family. Wonderful backyard. We just did not spend enough time since we were gone most of the two days spending time with our Oregon relatives. Amenities were more than we could have expected. Host was so considerate leaving muffins for the kids and a heartfelt card for the loss in our family. Thank you so much.

Plenty of space for our family and the backyard is beautiful like a park. We enjoyed our stay very much and were at a great location to do all the things.

Myself, my husband, mom and brother all needed to stay in the Portland area for a cousin’s wedding. I really wanted us to enjoy our time together rather than book separate hotel rooms. I found Barbara’s place, and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip! She couldn’t have been a more thoughtful host. Every detail was thought of for her guests’ comfort and enjoyment. I was so impressed! Her home is absolutely lovely, peaceful, warm, comfortable, and welcoming. We felt so at home and the house had everything we needed! She was very communicative and accessible prior to and throughout our stay. I cannot say enough positive things about all aspects of our experience. Barbara and her home were simply lovely.

Our family of 4 stayed here while visiting family/friends in the Portland and Eugene area. It was the perfect home base for many day trips. But honestly we loved the house so much we just wanted to stay in and relax! It is very comfortable, welcoming, and feels like “home.” My kids didn’t want to leave!

Charming Family Getaway
Absolutely loved staying in this home. Super charming and comfortable. Our host was amazing- she made everything easy. Each room had a special feel thanks to all the sweet decor and thoughtful touches. On top of that, the backyard is an oasis - simply gorgeous! My family didn’t want to leave! Thank you Barbara for making it so special - and the wine and dessert were fabulous!!

A charming, lovingly curated home
It's obvious that Barbara put a lot of love into curating the decorations around the home! There's something lovely to look at in just about every direction, the yard is amazing, and the whole place feels comfortable and welcoming. It has the feel of a well stocked, well appointed, spacious but still homey country manor and we could have spent just ages there and been quite content!
Beds (I know with my back I'm always scanning reviews for any info about beds, so in case anyone else is in the same boat...) the beds aren't new and have the bit of give that goes with that, but were still supportive enough for our backs to be happy in the morning and I never had trouble falling asleep. More toward the firmer, springier side than the squishy sink into it sort of mattress.
A note for taller people - it was obviously designed by and for a woman and for me it was perfect, but I did notice that while the mirrors were perfectly set for me, my husband had to duck a bit to see himself or to get his hair wet in the shower (better than a lot of showers in that regard, just the standard issue there not extra short or anything).
The pups loved it, we loved it, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! Thanks for making it a magical week :)

This Place Is Amazing!!
We were fortunate to celebrate Christmas at this beautiful location. The house is very spacious, clean and equipped with anything you need! Barbara had the whole house decorated for Christmas with a plate full of goodies waiting for us.
My son commented that it was the nicest place we had rented in Portland!! The family room, which we called the “football” room was a hit, many games were enjoyed.

Charming home away from home.
Great house! We were very comfortable there and look forward to going back. The back yard is a lovely private retreat. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms had a nice new vintage upgrade - everything you would need and more. Some funky older rooms but clean and roomy. Barbara was always available and a super host.
