Perfect place to get a head start at Volcano National park. Exactly what we needed, the grounds were lush and beautiful.

Overall was clean. Stuffy, they could use some ceiling fans but less than 10 minutes to the park entrance

Peaceful spot amid the lovely higher elevation Ohia/ tree fern forest of Volcano. Clean and comfortable.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at the cottage. While nothing fancy, the house is neat, clean and has a well equipped kitchen. It is also very close to the entry of Volcanoes National Park. The owner was great at communicating and very pleasant to work with. I strongly recommend staying here during your visit to the National Park.

House was close to VNP which was great. Wished there was a usable cooler and containers to pack a lunch. Felt like the towels and coffee maker were old but everything was serviceable. Owner very responsive.

We loved our one night stay at Danielle’s cottage. After a long drive from waikoloa and visiting volcano national park, her cottage was warm and welcoming. I would most definitely stay there again when we return.

Comfortable, with tasteful decor. Lovely backyard with landscaping that provided privacy even with neighbors next door. Nice to have washer and dryer.

We thoroughly enjoyed this private rainforest home! It was super close to Volcanoes National Park, where we explored many trails without all the rush of a tour group. There were some really good restaurants nearby too. We highly recommend this place!
The only downside was that it could have used a toaster and a new coffee pot, which was on it's last leg.

This was our second stay and we loved it just like 2 years ago. The verdant tropical rain forest it is tucked into is terrific and and great place to have happy hour right in your backyard, We difinitely recommend a stay here while exploring Volcano NP.

My husband and I have been visiting the volcano for decades. This was the most comfortable stay we have ever had. The lights were on to welcome us since we arrived near sunset. The house is warm, roomy, and quiet. We had a problem with the TV the first night, and Danielle was there in five minutes. She is never more than a text away.
The ONLY improvement we could possibly make would be to have a cooler for day trips.
This is how all rental units should be.

Close to the national park, quiet neighborhood, clean cozy house! Highly recommended. The guest bedroom without curtains might bother those not early birds type travelers.

It was as advertised. Clean and ready for us. Very convenient to the Volcano National Park. The only thing that I could suggest is that the blinds be put back up in the second bedroom. The morning light is blinding at 6:30am.

Danielle was great! We arrived at night, so she turned some lights on for us. The rooms were good, everything very clean, directions clear.
We brought coffee basket liners, but everything else was provided.
Decor is simple but comfortable and pleasantly Hawaiian.
Danielle was very responsive when we had a question, and met us as we were checking out, so she could meet the repair person for the dryer (which only ran on hot).
The only missing item was a toaster, but it wasn’t listed, and I should have noted that. No A/C, but nights cool down a lot so not an issue.
I’ll stay at any of the cottages that Danielle manages; she’s a gem!

We spent 3 nights at the Ama'u Lani cottage. Great location! Secluded yet easy to find, and just a few short miles to Volcano National Park entrance. We bought groceries in Kona at the Safeway for the 3 days, as there are only a few markets in the village with limited choices. The cottage was clean and had almost everything one would need, sans a colander to drain our pasta. We enjoyed breakfast outside to the sound of the singing birds, and also loved listening to the frogs sing at night. It was a very serene location. Danielle was very accessible and great to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

The cottage was as described on the website. The location is near the volcano national park in a secluded residential area.

Booked in good faith for 2 people noting the owner charges a cleaning fee.
When we had settled in we noticed many things were grubby (pics have been sent to VRBO as proof for escalation) and messaged the owner before just posting a negative review, the written rude replies (verified by VRBO) we got back were unbelievable telling us we just had too high standards l! Then at midnight as we were sleeping the owner cancelled the reservation and claimed we breached house rules and had more than 2 of us in the property. Should be noted they’ve yet to provide proof or us or VRBO to substantiate their claim, and won’t be able to as it’s a lie!
This left a very bad taste and tarred our stay in Volcano, we had such an awful experience and ended up checking out before 8am to avoid any potential conflict.
Look carefully at the reviews as many give a high rating just on location . We acknowledge the property is in a reasonable location for the National Park but it feels like it’s just rented out and then just surfaced cleaned each time. The property definitely needs some TLC and the grime and dust removed. Especially if an extra fee is being asked.
Totally regret letting this owner be involved in our vacation and they maybe should learn some customer service in how to react to feedback more professionally.
Please be warned and VRBO are now investigating

Charming cottage surrounded by giant ferns - quiet, peaceful, private. Felt instantly like home. And just 5 min away from the Volcanoes Park entrance. We could plan morning trips, home for lunch and another trip in the afternoon. And did we mention that Danielle is a gracious host..

What a beautiful location near Volcano Natl Park. Our cottage is tucked away in a very quiet neighborhood and easy take off to other parts of the neighborhood. Just be careful to watch out for cows in the streets!

This location was very convenient ( literally minutes away ) for visiting Volcanoes National Park. The house was tastefully furnished, clean and provided a well equipped kitchen. There is a gas fireplace that quickly warmed up the space in a few minutes. The beds were very comfortable. Danielle, the owner is easy to contact and provided answers to my inquiries very quickly. I would recommend staying here to anyone who is considering.

Great location for activities connected to the Volcano National Park. We were there in the peak of rainy season so it rained alllllll the time but we still enjoyed it.
The fireplace/heater was perfect after a long day of site seeing in the rain. Danielle was great and responsive to any needs we had.
