Glenarch House is in a great location, a beautiful gem close to Edinburgh. We liked that it was close to the Eskbank train station (25 mins walk) which easily takes you to other beautiful towns of the Scottish Borders. We really enjoyed the food recommendations from the host, in particular The Sun Inn, The Cavaliere and the Restoration Yard.

The rooms were very modern, clean and the beds extremely comfortable

The location was surprising! It was like you were in the middle of no where!
The shower could do with being updated. The hot was cold and the cold was hot. There wasn't an inbetween with temperatures unfortunately. Bit of an awkward squeeze with one shower head not able to move to angle it in order to wash your hair without the soap being rinsed at the same time and having the other shower head in you knees.
Maybe having plugs next to one of the sides of the bed for charging.

Such a beautiful property, grounds and surrounding area. Even saw deer in the garden! My room was very clean and comfortable, the shower was powerful and the water was nice and hot. The shampoo and shower gel was good quality and smelt amazing. The hosts were also friendly and available when I needed a milk topup.
The WiFi was good 95% of the time but a little intermittent on my last morning.

Clean, quiet, v comfortable, easy bus (day/night) into the town centre
Really good price, especially given during Fringe
Bed is a regular double so a bit on the small side
Couple of Nespresso pods / tea bags for the kettle/machine would be a nice touch

The decoration of the room, the estate garden and verry friendly host.
Limited space for luggage and a smallish bed (we are tall people)

The grounds were in a beautiful location and in a good area to get about. Not far to Edinburgh and plenty of places to eat
The television in the room hadn't got a good signal and kept going off but it didn't spoil the time there

Everything was amazing down the details in the room to the location comfort staff was very clean as well, even got a latter check out at the last minute. Staff were so friendly and inviting will be staying at this property again soon and will be sharing it on to family and friends
Couldn’t say a bad thing about the stay

clean, quiet and in a good location
we never met our hosts which diminishes the stay in my opinion. some of the joy of traveling is meeting new people. my mother is new to travel and would have liked a few instructions on how to operate things.

Breakfast would have been a bonus

We had the best Indian food at Bombay Lounge. We went to a local pub and although it was packed we didn’t enjoy the food all all. 1/2 price breakfast at Morrison’s grocery. We only did 2 nights, but would have stayed longer.
The room was on the smaller side.

The peace and quiet, it has a very relaxing atmosphere. Surrounded by large beautiful trees and an expansive lawn. Being able to relax outside was wonderful.
There is a steepish driveway into the property and if walking it can be a bit much. I have some health issues and had to take my time.

Comfy garden room in beautiful grounds. Soft, fluffy towels with great amenities. Everything had been considered and there was even a large-ish fridge in the room.
Difficult to lock the door when leaving as the lock is tricky. Would have loved a bigger kettle as we brought a cafetière with us.

As I arrived I was met by Nicola, who introduced her self, and showed me to my accommodation.
Everything was so carefully planned for guests. It has been updated with great care and attention while retaining its original charm.
Easy access into Edinburgh, either by car or local transport.
A good variety of restaurants to suit all needs.
Leaving 😭
