About this house rental
Hayfield View is a family owned, dog friendly (2 dog maximum), cosy and welcoming holiday let a mere hop, skip and a jump away from Hayfield - one of the prettiest villages in the Peak District.
Our luxury camping barn used to house our collection of rescued chickens; now it’s a home from home for weary walkers. Situated a little way from the main house among nine acres of heather moorland and pasture, yet also within easy walking distance of our guest parking area, the barn sleeps two to six people. There’s a double bed and two single bunks, as well as a comfortable double sofa bed upstairs for use by larger groups or families.
To take full advantage of the views across the surrounding fields and hills, we’ve put the kitchen and living area upstairs and kept the bedroom and shower room downstairs. Facilities available include a combi microwave, hob, fridge, kettle, and toaster in the kitchen, and there’s a big TV and a large, comfy sofa in the living area.
There’ll be a warm welcome when you arrive, and all the essentials , (butter, milk, breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, biscuits and wine) to help you settle right in from the minute you get here. Plus we’re chock-full of local knowledge and will do our best to help make your Derbyshire holiday a truly memorable one.
When it’s time to get out and about, it’s an easy drive to Peak District highlights like the Hope Valley and Castleton, the lovely spa town of Buxton, and the bright lights of Manchester... You may never get that far, though, since there’s some amazing walking and mountain biking country right outside our door: the gate at the rear of our property opens directly onto a lane leading up into the hills and freedom!
Please note that access to the upstairs living room and kitchen is via a beautiful spiral staircase which, while lovely (and space-saving!), may be a problem for some. If you think you or your pet might struggle with the stairs, please give us a call and ask any questions you need to before making the decision to book your stay. Thank you.

Had a lovely short break at the camping barn. Husband and I with our border terrier. Property is well appointed and equipped with all you need. Stairs possibly a little challenging for small children and dogs. Lovely views and walks from the property. Hayfield has some great eateries. Hosts were extremely welcoming and even lent me their binoculars when I realised I had omitted to pack mine. We are hoping to return for another short break soon.

Perfect place for a short stay, clean and easy to start hiking right from the back door. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a short stay and lots of walking. They also provide all essentials you may forget including hygiene products and spices/cooking oil, milk, butter. Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay.

Sayingvthatvthe property is beautiful doesn't make it justice.

Quiet place with easy parking. The upstairs kitchen and lounge is actually very comfortable. There are quite a few stairs to climb before you get to the barn, don’t bring too many suitcases. If you travel a lot as we do you realize quickly how convenient it is having bedrooms downstairs. The walk in shower is a great touch, being 6’4 makes having showers very comfortable.

2nd visit to this wonderful place and was happy to be back!
This is an absolutely stunning property, Linda & Keith are the most thoughtful hosts, welcome package was brilliant and everything you can think of is provided from spare toothbrushes in the bathroom to dog poop bags in the cupboard! I’ve visited this barn back in 2019 and was so excited to come back, this time with my friend and our dogs. Absolutely massive enclosed space for them to run around in and beautiful walks straight from the front door so if you are a hiker, mountain biker or just a dog Walker like me you will love it here.
The barn is warm and cosy with beautiful views.
I will definitely be back again and my friend feels the same. Thank you for a wonderful stay x

From entering the property on Friday, to leaving on the Tuesday, everything was Perfect. Such a lovely property, in a great location, where once the car was parked up, did everything on foot! Hayfield is a very special village, can't wait to return.

Cosy little cabin with great views and nearby walks of varying difficulty
Booking and key collection for this property was a breeze and communication with the owners was very smooth and helpful. There was an excellent range of mugs, plates, pans and cutlery for people looking to cook their own meals, which we did. The house itself was warm and neatly decorated.
All in all, we had a lovely time during our stay due to both the house and its perfect location, an important feature for us since we came on foot.

Delightful little barn, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We were booked to stay here for the Christmas week but because of a death in the family our trip was cut short to just 3 nights. We arrived on Christmas Eve and the children were delighted to find Christmas treats left out for them...even our dog had a Christmas stocking! (Thank you Linda). The barn was fabulously warm, comfortable, clean and cosy. We had some lovely walks around the area and the dog was in heaven with free rein of the garden. The weather was not so great so it was lovely to just hunker down and enjoy being together over the festive period. Our stay couldn’t have been any better...except perhaps if it had been for longer.

Cosy place to spend a week
This was a lovely little place to spend a week. We went in December, and it was very well placed to walk from when the weather allowed but also a very pleasant place to spend the day in when the weather was not so good. Would highly recommend.
