Wonderful cabin on the lake with kayaks, pedal boat and plenty to entertain the kids. The wildlife and calm waters were a welcomed sight. Two adults and five kids fit well. Laundry on site is a bonus!
We made a day trip into Duluth, had a lot of fun walking around seeing Lake Superior and visiting the touristy sites but the kids could not wait to get back to our cabin and out on "our lake." We had an incredible stay.

A great cabin, beautifully updated and perfect for our family. Outside was a wonderful dock with many kayaks, and a pedal powered boat! This Cabin is amazing!!

Great 4th of July Weekend
My family stayed at the cabin over the 4th of July weekend this year. It was my husband and I, 2 adult brothers & sister in law. The location of the cabin is fantastic - very close to the village, nice location on the lake across from the island and easy to find. We rented a pontoon from the St. Croix Inn and it was very convenient to just pop down the road to pick it up and drive it over to the dock. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed and there was ample parking for our vehicles. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the summer evenings too. We did a round of golf on the Hidden Greens course and I would recommend that as well. Nice course, close to the cabin and we had a fantastic time. Overall, we had a very enjoyable weekend and would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a summer get away.

Great cabin. We'll rent again and bring our boat next time to enjoy the lake. Beautiful fire pit and the cabin has kayaks, row boat, and paddle boat.

First off, we are regular VRBO users and we realize that when this is someone's pride and joy, they may look at it unobjectively. We look at it as seasoned VRBO users. As a VRBO, certain basics are expected. First off, the premises are much smaller than you would expect from the pictures. There were only two of us and it still seemed small. The linens are in need of replacing. The beds are no better than hammocks. A deep clean is definitely in order. Also, the charge for the owners fee is excessive and unexplained. You are already charging an elevated nightly fee, so to be charged an owners fee on top of that is exorbitant. When asked if it could be removed we received no response. We paid an outrageous amount for three nights in October! Hardly tourist season! There are no services in town so you must plan and purchase groceries before arriving. We needed a local place to stay for a funeral, so we didn't have any options. But had we, we would have not chosen to stay here. Traveler beware: NOT worth the fees that are charged. And if it is a property managed by EVOLVE, don't expect high standards.

Had a great friends and kids get together at this cabin. It was stocked with everything we needed for cooking. There were enough dishes for us to use but we brought our own paper plates / utensils so we didn't have to take time to continuously wash dishes. The kayaks, peddle boat, row boat, as well as available life jackets of all sizes were so nice to have. We rented a pontoon one day from the St Croix Inn. The cabin has central air which keeps the lower level nice and cool but the upper room can get hot so it was great that there were plenty of fans available to use. The area around the dock was pretty weedy but that didn't seem to deter the kids from swimming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't feel like we were missing anything. It was also nice that the owner reached out before the beginning of the stay with a text so I had her contact info handy. We didn't end up needing anything but it was nice to know I could shoot a quick text if we did. All in all, great stay, would recommend!

The host was beyond amazing! The property and cabin were amazing! From little touches like popcorn and coffee, to games to play, to pictures of the host family at the cabin, you felt right at home! We have stayed at many properties and found this one to be top of the list. Kudos!!! We will definitely be back!

We had 6 adults and 4 children in their early teens and all of us had a great time! The kayak’s, paddle boards were great to have. Being so close to the lake was so nice especially for that morning coffee and watching the kids play in the water. The boat launch was close to the cabin and some of us even got to get out and golf! This cabin really had everything we needed. The owners Deann and Scott were so awesome on being responsive with anything. Their father lives down the street If we needed anything and that was great! We will be making this cabin our annual best friends and family trip! Thank you!

My family had a great time at the cabin. Owners were extremely responsive and friendly. Cabin had everything we needed and more. Next time we plan to stay longer - will definitely be back! :)

Wonderful small cabin!
We had a great experience at the cabin in Solon springs! Great location right on the edge of town and right on the lake! Screened in porch is amazing for coffee in the morning and watching the sunrise and listening to the loons. All the amenities needed down to small shampoo and soaps if you forget yours! Lots of extra blankets and bedding! Very small space but it’s a cabin and makes it homey! We cannot wait to see the remodels to the cabin starting this week and hope to book again. Only downfall was the train tracks right up the hill and hearing them go through every 20 min or sooner since it is a main artery to get to superior.

Quaint Clean Cabin On Beautiful Lake
A quaint cabin from the early 1900s on a cute lake. Wish the trip was longer but the 3 days we were there we loved all of the water toys and spacious yard. Our kids played lots of flashlight tag as we enjoyed the fire pit on the water. We ventured into town for some forgotten supplies and were able to find everything we needed. Beds were comfy and cabin was clean. Couldn't ask for more.
The only complaint would the trains. The trains run all day and night and blare their horns through town which is just up the road.

Relaxing woods retreat!
Perfect location to spend our wedding week with our family. BEAUTIFUL lakeside property! Access to awesome ATV trails, and centrally located to all fun things "up north." Clean, accommodating, and had everything we needed. Our week was cold and rainy, so we couldn't enjoy the swimming, but we had a great time relaxing and enjoying the family time. My only hint for future patrons is to bring your own kitchen gadgets you'll need to cook your own meals if you're planning to cook. We were able to go to the local store and purchase the few items that were lacking. (can opener, potato peeler, things like that.) We'd definitely stay there again!

Great Family Vacation 2019
We had such a great time and was soo thankful for the great amenities that came with the rental, such as the rowboat, paddleboat, and kayak. Description of the cabin is perfect and I can't rave enough about the great water pressure for shower! Truth be told- I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, how everything was labeled with subtle reminders around the cabin!! It was super helpful having not to guess which switch turned on which light...etc.... Loved that idea!!
We were a family of 8 in which the rooms accommodated all of us.The girls had their space and the guys had theirs. Smaller rooms but it was only used for down time as we spent the majority of our time out on the Lake. The kids went out every night on the kayak and swam. We had smore's every night with beaucoup wood that we bought from a local neighbor, which was1 block from the IGA that was in town. The town is small but provided everything that we needed even laundromat. The Mercantile is definitely a place to visit, as we got some great advice on fishing gear/lures. Everyone local, were super friendly and welcoming. We also took up the advice of renting a pontoon from the St. Croix Inn for a day on the lake, and had a blast with extras that we also rented such as the tubing and paddleboard.
Location of the cabin was 40 min to Duluth/Superior in which we took the kids to for a change of scenery and that was nice also!
Communication with DeAnn was tremendous!! Fast, quick replies via email and text while we were there.
Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your place great! We will definitely be back after the updates!

We will be back!!!!
Great spot right on the water, just a great time had by all..

Great stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin - the owners are very communicative and responsive, and the place is as advertised.
4.7
The lake activities and the outdoors was great!
Enjoy the great outdoors! Overall the experience was great, because we spent a lot of time outside fishing and swimming. Inside is another story. The cabin had a musty and moldy smell, we had to wash the sheets when we got there! The screen doors were broken and slammed every time they were closed. No one could take a nap inside! Every room pitches a certain degree because the floors are not level. The property to the south looks like a Sanford and Sons garbage lot. When your sitting outside looking at the lake to your right is all kinds of garbage, old items left to rot. Someone needs to clean that up. Not only is it an eye sore it is a hazard for small kids wandering around. It is clearly marked Private Property so we stayed away. There was also NO LOCK on the bathroom door. Imagine 8 people and no lock on the bathroom. Plan on fishing off the pier using night crawlers. You will catch all kinds of bluegill and small perch. If you fish near the rundown pontoon boat on the South property, we did catch some bass. We also used a small white spinner lure and caught 2 nice pike and bass fishing away from the pier. Expect a lot of weeds. We also saw turtles, small garden snakes and plenty of crayfish for the youngkids to have fun with. As stated, the cabin is not what we were expecting since we have rented other cabins. This was the least maintained and it looks like they have not given it much love in many years.

Fun cabin with everything I needed.
Very fun place. Nice extras like s’mores & nuts for the chipmunks. Perfect for my grandkids. I hope I can return some day.

welcoming
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was just as pictured with lots of nice touches - travel sized shampoo, water and snacks, notes to help guide you such as which switch turned on which light. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck. The patio furniture was very comfortable. Even rowed around the island on the calm evening. Town is small and friendly. This one is definitely on the return list! Thanks for a great get away.

Get away weekend
A beautiful part of the world and a comfortable cabin.

comfy, cozy, relaxing time on good sizes lake. Cabin has everything you need except food& drinks!
My children (15&22 yo) & I had a lovely time at the cabin. Some repairs would have improved the looks but everything worked fine& everything you need to have a great time was included. We had fun on the paddle boat& row boat- the lake was pretty!!
4.7
Cozy cabin on the lake...
We enjoyed our stay at the Solon Springs Cabin. The screen porch and deck got a lot of use as it was so peaceful sitting and watching the water. The lake was wonderful- we fished from the rowboat, paddled from the paddle boat, rented kayaks and a pontoon/tube from the St. Croix Inn! Pontoon day was definitely a highlight of the trip. We also spent a day in Bayfield shopping and hiking. The cabin is cozy but it is very functional- it has everything you need to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It could use some cosmetic updates but everything is in working order and it has all the supplies you need for a week at the lake (down to the marshmallow spears for making s'mores). There are also life jackets available in all sizes.
Again, the lake was wonderful- we were out every day fishing or just relaxing on the boat. We heard the loons calling and an eagle was soaring overhead several times.
The rowboat that was supposed to be there was being repaired and not available when we arrived but after texting with the owner, her dad and brother who live in next door and the house after that brought over one for us to use during the week. They brought it over promptly and with a welcome. I guess I mean that we did not encounter any problems during the week but they were both there if we had needed anything which was nice.
Overall, a great week of family time!

Great place to stay
My wife and I spent our honeymoon here we enjoyed breathtaking views (at 9am and 9pm the lake looks like glass) we fed the chipmunks out of our hand. The locals are friendly and located roughly 30 minutes from a few larger towns. We will definitely stay here again.
