About this chalet rental
Hirschli is a beautiful chalet set in the fairytale landscape of Pays-d'Enhaut, within the Gstaad super ski region. At around 1,100 metres and surrounded by majestic alpine pine forests and breathtaking views of the Gstaad dolomites, the chalet is perched above the chocolate box picturesque village of Rougemont, overlooking the village church and face of the 2,300m La Vidamenette.
Hirschli is a detached luxury chalet, a short 5 minute walk to the local shops, restaurants and train station. The chalet sleeps 8, with 4 double bedrooms with en suites, luxury pocket sprung beds and traditional swiss furniture, three of the bedrooms have access to the balcony with incredible views.
The open plan lounge/living space has a luxurious cosy feel, with large sofas, plush carpet, beautiful lamps, flat screen TV with Sky, and a working open fire place (logs are provided outside). There is a separate sitting area ideal for reading and board games, and recessed dinning room with large family dining table with 8 chairs decorated in cow hide, and a large antler chandelier.
The kitchen has granite surface, large sink, electric hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, nespresso machine, kettle, toaster and full sets of cutlery and cooking appliances. The kitchen opens onto one of the terraces.
There are two terraces outside, both get great sunlight, with stunning views. The front terrace has an outdoor heater. The private driveway has plenty of space for private for 4 cars. A further W/C on the ground floor.
Free high speed wi-fi is included.
Rougemont forms part of the Gstaad super ski region, a series of 9 chalet villages at an altitude from 1,000 to 1,400 metres. It is reputed as one of the most stunning parts of the swiss alps, with strict planning laws and picture postcard scenery, equally beautiful in both summer and winter. The region has remained genuinely alpine with local farmers, cheese makers, and traditional paper cutters still plying their trade. A strong friendly local culture sits well beside some of the worlds finest mountain hotels, spas and wellness retreats, superb restaurants, and an abundance of sporting and cultural events throughout the year. The Gstaad moto is 'come up, slow down' and with the fresh mountain air, beautiful scenery and local produce it is difficult not to feel instantly relaxed. There is also adventure to be had from a plethora of mountain sports (season dependent); from skiing and snowboarding (inc terrain parks), to paragliding, hot air ballooning, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, to cross country skiing, hiking, tennis, golf, ice skating, and indoor swimming. Plus for night owls, there several great spots to dance the night away.
The skiing is very good and varied, with the added bonus of slopes being often quiet. It's almost unheard of to experience a line at the ski lifts. La Vidamenette, the mountain opposite the chalet links directly to Sanaan and Gstaad. Other mountains nearby are also interlinked, all boasting amazing scenery and many mountain restaurants. Slightly further afield are the ski areas of Les Diabetes glacier, Lenk and Adleboden, and Villar, all are circa 30 mins drive away and add further variety to the ski region. If you are interested in visiting in summer; the hiking, biking (road and mountain), mountain lakes, and wellness facilities in the region are second to none. There are several excellent ski and snow-board schools available, and private instruction, and off-piste guides.
Rougemont is a small quaint village, the last french speaking village geographically in the valley. Where the church bells still sound in the morning and has it's own signature cheese. It has a bank, butcher, patisserie, paper shop, supermarket, convenience store, superb ski/sports shop, train station, various antique and design shops, 2 traditional swiss restaurants, and the hip new boutique - Hotel de Rougemont. The villages of Sanaan (5 mins drive) and Gstaad (10 min drive) have excellent shopping, central pedestrian zones, and a huge variety of restaurants. Rougemont has its own ski lift and cross country skiing track.
Train from Geneva Airport takes approx 2.5 hrs, with one change at Montreux. Drive time from Berne is 1:15 hrs, and Geneva 1:45 hrs.
Hirschli is available as self catered or fully catered with a cleaner (chalet girl). Please contact us for details of both options, start dates are not subject to a weekend changeover.

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay. The chalet is even nicer than in the photos, very well located, walking distance from the village. There are also wonderful walks one can do without taking the car. Ben was really nice and always available. Highly recommend the Chalet Hirschli !

Lovely mountain break!
We had a lovely time at this beautiful family chalet in such a magic part of the world. It was spacious enough for our family reunion, (6 adult siblings & partners!!) yet super cosy with lots of alpine homely touches. Absolutely loved lighting the fire when we got home, and cooking a big dinner. Beds were divine!
Host was really helpful and we were grateful for the little essentials they left for us. Would definitely recommend.
