About this apartment rental
Located in the Wildernest area of Summit county our Gore Trail Condo is easily accessible - under 90 minutes from Denver Int'l Airport and just 3 miles from the Silverthorne exit off I-70. Based in the heart of ski country you can ski Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain or A-Basin. Vail and Beaver Creek are slightly further (30-45 minutes) but still great options for a day of skiing. In summer there's Lake Dillon and miles of cycle paths to explore, plus hiking, rafting, fishing and golf.
There are no outside steps so you can walk straight in to the unit! Inside the accommodation is arranged on 2 levels with a half flight of stairs up or down from the entry hall. The lower level has a bright, uncluttered open plan living/dining area with a kitchen and breakfast bar with 3 bar stools. The living space has a sofa bed, TV & DVD player, gas fire with 6-hour timer, dining table for 6 and a private balcony with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding nature preserve. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and enjoy family meals.
There are two bedrooms on the lower level and a loft space upstairs overlooking the main room. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and its own bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top) and a Smart TV. There is a bathroom off the main hall with a walk-in shower and a washing machine and dryer. The loft has a queen bed and its own bathroom. Other amenities include free high speed wireless internet service, individual carport, uncovered general parking, drying racks, hair dryer and laundry baskets.
Gore Trail is at the top of Ryan Gulch Road where the road loops around. We love this circle for early morning and evening power walks/runs. The road runs right past the trail heads for Lily-Pad Lake and Buffalo Cabin trails, so it's very convenient for hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Gore Trail has a private clubhouse with 1 outdoor hot-tub, locker room, showers, large screen TV and a foosball table. Outside the south entrance to the parking lot is the Summit Stage bus stop - Summit County's free bus whose destinations include Silverthorne (with its outlet shopping and Recreation Center), Dillon (marina), Frisco (great town for shopping, restaurants and bike rental) and the ski areas of Keystone, Copper and Breckenridge. Perfect if you visit without a car and great for teenagers who want to do their own thing.

We had a reservation to stay at Sandy’s place, 4 grown-ups with two kids. We were really looking forward to our stay but Mother Nature had other plans, dumping snow all over the front range which closed Interstate 70 and prevented us from completing the trip. Sandy was incredibly responsive and understanding and worked with us regarding the circumstances. I’d highly recommend working with her if you’re looking for a place to stay in the Colorado Rockies. My family and I greatly appreciate Sandy!

This VRBO was in a very cool location, nicely decorated, and had a very easy check-in process. BUT it had many quirks. One of the bedroom doors came off the hinges when opening the door and for the rest of the time at the stay we had to move the door over the frame to have it be “closed”. EVERY SINGLE BED was ROUGH. They were terribly uncomfortable and every pillow was flat. If you bring a mattress topper and your own pillows you will be fine. The cleaning crew left the trash bag they used out front of the VRBO door when we arrived, we threw it away for them. Sandy was very responsive when I reached out to her about the door falling off the hinges but unfortunately this stay has too many quirks to stay here again.

Sandy's condo was ideal for our two daughter's families including two young grandkids in the bunk room. Really appreciate that we could rent for just two nights during Christmas week. Communication from the host was outstanding! If you get the chance to stay here, the mountain views from the outside deck are unbelievably beautiful. Thanks, Sandy!

This condo is truly an awesome space to have family and friends gather for a ski trip. Keystone/Breck/A-basin are less than 30 mins away and many others are not that far. The kitchen and living space offer awesome views of Buffalo Mt NF and the surrounding areas.
Kitchen is stocked with some cooking essentials (oil and some spices). Bring your own coffee if desired.
Sandy is an excellent host, and quick to help out if needed.

This condo was perfect for our long weekend. It was very clean and ready for us when we arrived. Getting in was easy, as was leaving. Location was great with the kids, close enough to Keystone, Breckinridge, and Frisco. Host was very responsive.

After a rough start getting in, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to come back to such a lovely, clean and convenient condo after a long day on the slopes.

One of the best VRBO experiences I have had
I use VRBO a lot and this is one of the best experiences we have had. The unit was perfect for us. It is decorated with a ski theme which is perfect. There was plenty of space for 3 adults, 2 teens and an 8 year old. There were even a collection of boards games which we enjoyed. The view is fantastic and it is just a very short drive to the copper hill result. The property owner was very responsive to answering our questions and overall, it was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend this VRBO for any family looking for a nice place to stay while skiing at Copper Mountain.

Nice stay!
Great location to Colorado skiing. Easy to find. Check in/out easy. Only suggestion to uplevel a good stay would be better queen bed frame/mattress in downstairs room, more paper towels and hand soap, more warm/fluffy blankets.

My wife and I brought our daughter, our son and his girlfriend stayed at the Moose Roost. You get beautiful views, and there are lots of hiking trailsl The place was clean, and very well appointed with dishes, etc. We would definitely be back sometime. Thanks .

Wonderful property! Great View! The slopes on Keystone are all lit up at night and it's very quiet.
This rental was perfect for our family, very clean and plenty of room. We had everything we needed. We will be back for sure! One of the best vacations spots we have stayed at! So much to do around this area. We went skiing, tubing, and enjoyed an amazing sleigh ride! The condo was great to come back to and relax while enjoying the views.

Spacious and a great a view!
The unit was clean and spacious and the views out the deck are great. While we were there, the clubhouse was being remodeled or something so both hot tubs were out of commission. This should have been updated in the listing. The beds were only ok. I have a nice temperpedic mattress at home, so you may take my review with a grain of salt. Kitchen was well stocked. Another minor complaint is the TP was about the same quality as most elementary schools. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. My complaints are pretty petty but the biggest gripe would be the unavailability of the hot tubs that we were really looking forward to using after days on the slopes.

Great location and view
This property is situated in upper part of the town which gives awesome overview on the lake and surrounding mountains. For people that like to hike it's just minutes away from beginning of the trail for Buffalo Mountain. Condo is comfortable with plenty of space for any family. It has all necessities. Owner was very helpful and kind to be flexible with our reservation. We recommend it.

Annual Holiday Family trip
Every year we go on an annual trip to Summit County for a family holiday ski trip. Unfortunately, this trip started out with some poor communications, and had a few problem with the condo. Due to the issues, we feel that there are other properties without these problems and hence we will not be renting this condo again. We received no communication from the property management prior to arriving. The information on VRBO is incorrect and listed the wrong condo # and address, and we had to call to even find the correct building and unit number. Note, the check-in time is late (4pm) compared with other places, so after a long day of skiing we had to wait around before we could go relax. While talking to Sandy on the phone, she informed us that the fireplace was broken and would be repaired after we left. To our amazement once we entered the condo we found that the condo had not even been cleaned! The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms and floors were left dirty from the prior guest! We called Sandy and she apologized but wasn't sure if anyone could come so late to clean the unit, but she would try to get it cleaned. We started to clean the kitchen, started the towels in the washer and started cleaning bathrooms when Sandy called and said that the maid service would be able to clean the unit that evening. We ended up needing to leave the unit to go out to dinner so that they could clean the unit. We stopped by and did our grocery shopping before heading back to the unit at 7:30pm and the cleaners were still finishing up. We are very thankful that Sandy did refund us our cleaning fee!
Once again the next day, we needed to call Sandy due to no check-in communication and we were initially not able to use the hot tub, because we didn't know the code to the clubhouse. The listing on VRBO says there is a key card, which is not correct. To surprise that check-out time is10am. That's early for vacation! We requested a 1 hour late check-out (thinking we really didn't get a chance to enjoy the first night, so why not have an extra hour) and Sandy said that the fireplace repair guy would be coming at 10am as well as the cleaning crew as they had the next guest moving in that afternoon. She did say that if wanted to stay the extra hour we could strip the beds and start laundry. Are you kidding me? So sad that this was one of the most expensive places in which we have stayed and one of the most disappointing stays overall.

Great Mountain View
We had a nice time at the Condo. It was snowing when we arrived and it took a while for the condo to warm up, but once it did we were nice and toasty. The location was great. Close to the main strip, which was nice, but far enough away. We had a great view out the balcony. The beds were fairly comfortable and it was nice for each of us to have our own bathrooms. We had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Welcomed retreat after a long day on the slopes!
We stayed at the moose roost while skiing at keystone. It was so nice to have a place like home to come back to after a long day on the slopes. The outdoor hot tubs were amazing and the cabin was so comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the condo has an amazing view of the sunrise off the deck. We had everything we needed and then some! My only complaint is that the pillows in the beds are not great so bring your own if you have neck problems like me. Either way, we will definitely be staying again if it is available on our next trip.

We loved the condo! It was perfect!
Christmas in the mountains! What a fantastic vacation! We had an absolutely breathtaking view of the mountains, especially with the fresh snowfall. We watched a moose nibbling branches right outside our window and a fox frequented the area, as well . We are wildlife enthusiasts & this was so amazing! The location to the ski resorts is perfect. We also snowshoed the Buffalo Mountain trail that was just up the road. The condo has everything for a perfect vacation. The kitchen is fully stocked for family meals. It is super cozy and beautifully decorated with special touches that were perfect for being in the mountains. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks Sandy!

Great potential, but could use a little more attention from management
This rental unit is very well laid out, with great views, exceptionally convenient parking (covered and just a few steps from, and at same level as, unit entrance). However, supplies, e.g., laundry, hand, and bath/shower soaps, TP, etc., while apparently provided at beginning of season, were not regularly replaced by owner/manager. Kitchen pots and pans were dated and other such kitchen provisions were somewhat inadequate -- nothing that a $200 refurbishing wouldn't cure.
Unit address listed in VRBO does not match that of actual unit.

Perfect condo for month of work + snowboarding
I've stayed in many Frisco-area condos, and this one is my favorite. We especially appreciated the walk-in entry (no stairs!), three bathrooms, free WiFi, and beautiful view out the window.
We stayed at the Moose Roost for three weeks in Jan 2018, and would definitely stay again. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful place with us!
