About this villa rental
The Masseria Mattiani is an ancient country house documented since the XVII century, restored according the original architectural style of the Masserie in Salento.
There is a big outdoor Swimming Pool of meters 12x6 (water treated with salt and no chlorine).
There are 5 bedrooms whith own privat bathroom, kitchen and a large lounge with ancient fireplaces.
In front of the Pool , a big patio equipped for relax and outdoor dining with the outdoor kitchen, barbecue and bathroom. The car parking is inside the property.
In a olive field with fence, surrounded by a large fruit garden, the house is reflected in a pond in front of an ancient olive mill with a wood burning oven available for country banquets.

The house is in the region of the Salice Salentino wine and Terra d’Otranto olive oil , between two seas , the Adriatic Sea (15 km) and the Jonian Sea (22 km). Lecce, the capital city of the baroque style with a brilliant night life, is about 15 km from the house.
The Salento airport (Brindisi) is 27 km away. Comers with car, from North Italy/Rome motorways, take the exit Bari – North ,then superhighway to Lecce and exit Squinzano . From Squinzano , the house is about 5 km towards Campi-Salice-Guagnano.
The house is available from May to October . It is ideal for families and groups of friends (maximum 13 person).

The best part of the experience was orizino the caretakeras other have stated. He is generous and kind and even though he only speaks Italian we were able to communicate because my wife speaks Italian.
He grilled us vegetables gave us a tour of the farm and was so very kind even showing us how he make caramel candy.
The air conditioning isn’t great and the beds ok but we loved the experience.

We stayed at this wonderful villa for 10 nights with our family celebrating my husband’s retirement.
Our grown up children and their partners plus our grandchild of 5 months.
The villa exceeded our expectations, we were met by the lovely Oronzio who showed us around and explained everything about the villa.
Oronzio showed us how he decants the wine and supplied us with plenty!
We made a lovely anti pasta using the home grown tomatoes with our family. Which was delicious!
He showed us his handmade oven and we made almond brittle on my Birthday. His hospitality was outstanding and such a lovely friendly man.
He was always at hand if you had a problem.
We have stayed in many villas all over the world and this one absolutely exceeded all our expectations. Lovely huge bedrooms and private bathrooms.
Lovely outside kitchen facilities and huge dining table.
Sad to leave but most definitely we will return!
Puglia is a beautiful part of Italy to visit!

This villa was great for our two families. The space was clean and well set up and the bedrooms were perfect for us. The outside area was wonderful and there was lots of space for the kids. The kids unfortunately could not play soccer on the open grass due to the landscape lighting but there was a field close by that we learned of the last couple of days. The outside cooking space was wonderful and well set up.
The location was ok; I found Campi Salentina underwhelming but it had all the amenities.

This villa is amazing! Bedrooms all have bathrooms and air conditioning. Wonderful pool! Beautiful property! Pierangelo, property owner, promptly responded to all communications! Our contact, Orozino, was so nice, thoughtful and took wonderful care of the property. My family of 10 loved our stay! I highly recommend this beautiful villa!

House is amazing, all renovated with AC in each room and bathrooms in suite in each room. Perfect for families or friends traveling together. Outdoor space is spectacular with full kitchen, fridge and dishwasher. Pool is a bonus for sure, particularly for the kids. Pierangelo and Oronzino were very friendly, attentive and responsive. Local supermarket just 4 minutes away. Just 22 minutes from Lecce which is a beautiful city. We had a great time! Highly recommended!!

Perfect accommodation for 4 couples and a baby. Enjoyed using the outdoor kitchen and dining area as well the immaculately kept pool. Highly recommended.

We had 4 couples stay here quite comfortably- 4 en suite bedrooms. Communication for check in was easy. Please note Oronzino, who lives in home on the farm, is so very quick to respond- he doesn't speak English, so we used our translator to manage.
The best place to cook was outside where we used bbq, stove top- has its own fridge out there also. We stayed a week so we had to stock up and needed 2 refrigerators!
Kitchen needed more utensils to serve with and spatulas etc for cooking. New bbq utensils were delivered to us when the owner heard we didn't have anything to use for the bbq. Thank you Pierangelo.
One thing we didn't grasp is that it is far from most everything. It's truly out in the countryside, at least 1.5 miles from closest town for markets. Note many markets are closed early afternoon for a few hours. The closest notable town is Lecce, about 25 minutes drive. The neighborhood around the villa is not great condition, even though our property was lovely.
We hired a local chef who prepared a terrific typical local dinner for us! That was special and very reasonable!
There are many places to reach within 1-1 1/2 hours drive from the villa, so plan your day trips.

We had an absolutely top-notch experience at Masseria Mattiani. We fell in love with the place and its beautiful region Puglia. The property has wonderful historic charm with many tastefully preserved centuries old items while offering all modern amenities that one needs for a great vacation. The owner Pierangelo and property manager Oronzino are extremely nice, easy to communicate with and make sure guests have everything they need throughout their stay and that they feel welcome and comfortable. We were a group of eight adults and four young children aged 1 through 7 and we spent a truly unforgettable week at the Masseria in late August. It offered everything we needed for a family getaway. The Masseria is located in a huge functioning farm with countless fig trees, grapes, tomatoes, other vegetables etc. that are available daily for guests either picked directly or so kindly provided by Oronzino or Pierangelo. Not to mention the fresh eggs from the hens who live on the farm and were a major attraction for our kids. The moment you enter the property, you immediately feel you’ve made a great choice. Everything in the house is clean and well functioning, 5 separate rooms with modern private bathrooms. Amazing outdoors fully-equipped kitchen area and covered patio with large table and a very nice outside barbecue with firewood from the farm. The pool is a few steps away, great size and perfect for young children. The location within Puglia also excellent for exploring.

I can’t stress how amazing this stay was. Pierangelo communicated days before on What’s app and gave me his contact as well as Oronzino. Oronzino who manages the property met us at the property and showed us everything. He was more than hospitable he was simply amazing. He gave us farm fresh eggs everyday, fresh vegetables, sun dried tomatoes and much more. The property is heaven. The rooms are great and the in ground pool was meticulously cleaned everyday by Oronzino. He was very helpful at every point and communicated daily. We used this as a launching point to travel locally in Puglia and it was great. You would need a car here but we rented a 9 person van from Brindisi airport and that was critical. Highly suggest this villa as there are so many great things. We had adults, teens and a toddler and everyone loved it. Book this before the secret gets out!! Stayed for a week in June. Great villa and facilities and very helpful owner and host. Great outdoor space and pool. Good base for exploring Puglia with nice towns and beaches within 45 minutes. Oronzino, the villa manager was outstanding.

We spent a whole week with a group of friends at Masseria Mattiani. We had a great time there. The villa had everything what we were looking for. On top, Ononziano made our time even better there, providing us with fresh vegetables, fruits and red wine everyday. He was so guest friendly and was spreading so much positive vibes. The property includes also fig trees and a wineyard, making the overall experience even better.

Beautiful southern Puglia paradise
Great villa. We were a party of 7 and all loved the villa. Very comfortable rooms and bedS. Pool really lovely. Lots of swimming by everyone.
Easy to access Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli, Brindisi, Alborebello, Ostuni and Monopoli - all 30-75 minutes by car.
The property is on a farm and the farm manager, Oranzino, was really helpful. Endless figs, apricots and tomatoes from the garden were a delight.

A perfect holiday
It was an amazing time in the villa, Oronzino was helping us with every request. It was really paradise. The rooms are big and perfectly equipped with AC's. The bathrooms have a beautiful architecture and spacious. Sitting in the morning under the pergola and watching the pool was our favourite. Local groceries were very close to the house (5mins by car). Thank you and we will be back.

Great Stay
Had a wonderful week at Masseria Mattiani in a group of six adults. The villa is very well equipped and loved the outdoor kitchen. The pool was big and the garden huge with lots of fruit trees. Thank you Piereangelo and Oronzino x

Fantastic property with excellent customer service
We spent 2 weeks at Matteria Massiani in August, as an extended family of grandparents, parents and children. We booked ore Covid and were uncertain whether the trip would be cancelled. Pierangelo was very helpful, allowing a delay in second payment until the position became clearer and giving us updates on the situation in Puglia. We were let down by our rental vehicle company only weeks before the holiday but Pierangelo suggested a local family run business from whom we took a minibus hire ( and who also did airport transfers) Borelli Autos were excellent, cost 30% less than airport hire and no hastle over insurance etc.
The house is wonderful. Tastefully renovated, very spacious with high, beautiful exposed brick ceilings. Lots of original features. Bedrooms are large and all beds and bedding high quality. Good air con. Well stocked kitchen. One of the highlights is the outside kitchen under the canopy where we did all our cooking, with two long tables each seating 8 where we ate each day. Good wi - fi.
The grounds are extensive and with a large pool with comfortable loungers for all. The pool is single depth, great for children.
Oronzino, the farmer who has his farmhouse elsewhere ( but separate) on the land was great. He met us on arrival, showed us around and was on hand for any issues. He brought us fruits, eggs from his chickens, fantastic onions and the
Most delicious tomatoes. The children loved him showing them the hens, picking fabulous figs and collecting other items. On one occasion Oronzino invited us into his house where he was roasting tomatoes in his wood fired over, which we peeled, mixing with herbs, garlic and
Local olive oil. Wonderful.
Campi Salentina the local
Town has a number of supermarkets and restaurants. The menus are slightly limited but nonetheless satisfying. We made trips to Lecce and Bridisi, the latter providing the best food of seafood and pasta on the harbour front. We ventured to beaches but they are very busy and a little unnerving due to Covid and social distancing but the trick is to arrive early and be prepared to leave after lunch when it gets very busy. Overall we had a wonderful time and thoroughly recommend Masseria Mattiani.

Fantastic house in Campi Salentina, Puglia
We had a wonderful week in Masseria Mattiani. The house is very beautifully renovated and decorated with a fantastic garden and pool.
We really enjoyed the climate controlled indoors at night and the outdoor kitchen (I don’t think we used the indoor kitchen at all)
Everything inside is perfect, from bedrooms to bathrooms. All your needs is taken care of.
The photos you see in the presentation is a good representation and in reality it is even better.
The owner Mr Biancho was a great host and the caretaker Mr Oronzino treated is to local cuisine the first morning. He also showed us where to pick tomatoes, vegetables and eggs just outside witch was really nice.
A big grill is at your disposal and Oronzino also supplied wood and coal for us.
Our children loved the pool, they used it nonstop.
I give my biggest recommendations for this house and the hosts.

Maison magnifique
Splendide maison où se mêlent vieilles pierres et modernité. Un jardin arboré magnifique avec sa piscine. Et cerise sur le gâteau, une grande terrasse couverte avec une belle cuisine d été bien équipée avec barbecue, four neuf et lave vaisselle.
Très bon accueil à notre arrivée, avec en prime des légumes du jardin et des oeufs. Je recommande !!!

Ottima posizione a soli 20 minuti dalle più belle spiagge di porto cesareo.
Ma quel che più colpisce è la disposizione degli spazi studiati per fare trascorrere in tutta tranquillità e comodità la vacanza di 4 famiglie.
Posso incantevole! Le fotografie non rendono assolutamente l’idea.
Troveret due frigoriferi, forno a microonde, barbecue, ferro da stiro , folletto e lavatrice.
Per non parlare dei fichi e dei pomodori raccolti direttamente dall’orto.
Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
Unica nota negativa è che lascerete lì un pezzo del vostro cuore

Séjour agréable dans une superbe Masseria des Pouilles
L'accueil chaleureux de notre hôte qui nous a gâté avec des légumes et fruits produits par l'immense verger de la Masseria reste le plus beau souvenir de notre séjour dans les Pouilles. La Masseria est a 20 mn de la mer ionienne et 20mn de la mer adriatique. Lecce est toute proche. La Masseria est bien équipée ; nous y avons sejourne en famille a 12. Il ne manque qu'un lave vaisselle pour que ce soit parfait !! Belle région d'Italie avec des gens très chaleureux !

Siamo 10 amici di Lodi. È difficile in poche righe descrivere la vacanza alla Masseria Mattiani. Ottimo punto di partenza per visitare il Salento. Ambienti tipici, belli, puliti, spaziosi. In aperta campagna ma anche vicino al paese fornito di tutto. Il sig Oronzino che ci ha accolto non ci ha fatto mancare nulla. Frutta e verdura che lui stesso coltiva e perfino uova fresche direttamente dal pollaio. Proprietario e custode hanno contribuito a farci trascorrere una settimana che ci resterà nel cuore. Pertanto un grazie al sig Bianco e mille grazie al fantastico Oronzino. Direi che abbiamo trascorso una settimana da WOW!!!!!!!! I lodigiani

Peace, tranquility, privacy.....Perfection!
We fell in love with Masseria Mattiani the moment we set foot inside the front door. Such an enchanting atmosphere thanks to the tasteful restoration of this beautifully furnished country house. Peace, comfort, privacy and tranquility all combined to make this the perfect place for us to relax. We thoroughly enjoyed the simple pleasures of having breakfast, lunch and dinner on the the terrace, taking afternoon walks in the olive grove or around the orchard and vegetable plots, lingering by the pond and sipping wine as we watched the sun go down. And with full permission of the very kind owner, Pierangelo, we helped ourselves to some of the organic fruit and vegetables. Truly tasty and delicious! The warm welcome, hospitality and friendliness of the local manager, Oronzino, exceeded our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for him as he made sure we settled in and had everything we needed, including lots of useful information about restaurants, supermarkets, shops and places of interest to visit within easy reach.

vacanza bellissima
Siamo un gruppo di tre famiglie di Padova il cui unico rimpianto è aver fatto solo una settimana di vacanza. All'inizio eravamo scettici, abbiamo trovato la masseria tramite questo sito, le foto la ritraevano bellissima e il prezzo davvero competitivo....e...siamo rimasti... le foto sono realistiche al 100% e il posto è proprio così...STUPENDO..spazioso pulito in un posto tranquillo dove puoi stare tranquillamente in compagnia fuori all'aperto senza dare fastidio a nessuno e tuttavia in cinque minuti di auto andare in centro a rifornirsi di qualsiasi cosa. La casa ti dà un senso di tranquillità impagabile e l'esterno ha un frutteto e un orto che non ti fa mancare nulla. Un ultimo ringraziamento va al signor Oronzino (che si occupa dell'orto) e famiglia per l'accoglienza impareggiabile e il signor Bianco il titolare gentilissimo e disponibile. Andateci non c'è da pentirsi assolutamente!!!

bellissima vacanza
Siamo tre famiglie di amici di Padova. All' inizio eravamo scettici, abbiamo trovato questa masseria su internet foto bellissime prezzo competitivo...poi siamo arrivati e..da restare a bocca aperta. Le foto rispecchiano la bellezza della casa al 100% spaziosa pulita in una posizione perfetta per vedere spiagge notevoli e a cinque minuti dal centro rifornito di tutto. Casa che da un senso di pace e tranquillità e un giardino e un orto che non ti fa mancare nulla. E un grazie particolare a Oronzino che gestisce l'orto persona deliziosa e a Pierangelo proprietario disponibile e gentilissimo. Per chiudere un posto che merita!!!!

Masseria Mattiani, il paradiso! Location meravigliosa, nel mezzo della campagna salentina! Posto strategico, ideale per rilassarsi e staccare dalla routine quotidiana! Masseria stupenda, dotata di ogni comfort e pulizia impeccabile.

Estancia inolvidable - Soggiorno indimenticabile
Después de 8 horas de viaje en coche desde Roma, llegar a la Masseria Mattiani es llegar al paraiso. La propiedad es magnífica, tanto que las fotos no acaban de hacerle justicia. Bien restaurada, decorada con gusto y muy comoda, tanto las habitaciones como los espacios comunes. Además, tener 4 cuartos de baño para las ocho personas que éramos fue un auténtico lujo. Pero hay más: los exteriores, colmados de huertos y árboles de cuyos frutos disfrutamos casi diáriamente, le dan una autenticidad mucho más allá de un mero alojamiento turístico. Y finalmente, cómo no, resaltar en MAYÚSCULAS la amabilidad, solicitud, humanidad y generosidad de Oronzino, persona de honestidad antigua y encargado de atender la Masseria durante nuestra estancia y que siempre ha tenido un momento para nosotros.La casa está bien situada, en un lugar tranquilo pero cerca de todos los servicios y a 20 km de la playa y 15 km de la bellísima Lecce. A recomendar el restaurante Baccanera en Campi Salentina y en Lecce Alle Due Corti y All'Ombra del Barocco. A recomendar sin reservas.
Dopo 8 ore di auto da Roma, raggiungere la Masseria Mattiani è quello di raggiungere il paradiso. La proprietà è magnifica, in modo che le foto non riescono a rendere giustizia. Ben ristrutturato, arredato con gusto e molto confortevoli, entrambe le camere e le aree comuni. Inoltre, avere 4 bagni per l'otto persone che eramo era un vero lusso. Ma c'è di più: quello esterno, pieno di frutteti e alberi i cui frutti abbiamo goduto quasi ogni giorno, danno una autenticità al di là di una semplice struttura turistica. E, infine, naturalmente, evidenziare la estraordinaria gentilezza, l'applicazione, l'umanità e generosità d'Oronzino, uomo d'onestà antica, e responsabile dell Masseria durante il nostro soggiorno e che aveva sempre un momento per noi. La Masseria si trova in un luogo tranquillo ma vicino a tutti i servizi é a 20 km dalla spiaggia é a 15 km dalla bellissima Lecce. Qualche ristoranti consigliati Baccanera a Campi Salentina e a Lecce Alle Due Corti e All'Ombra dek Barocco. Riccomando il soggiorno nella Masseria senza riserva alcuna.

If you are looking for a place where you can find comfortable, lovely atmosphere, peace and safety, as well as hospitality, Masseria Mattiani is what you need. Staying in Masseria gave us everything we wanted and even more.

Speaking specifically about us, Masseria was a great option for a group (we were 8 people). Each family had a separate bedroom. There are 4 toilets and a cozy living room where you can spend the time together.
There is fully equipped kitchen and a patio where guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner. By the courtesy of the owners, we could freely use the fruits and vegetables from the beautiful and huge garden.
The main thing is that here you feel yourself like visiting the best friends. The owner signor Pierangelo and the manager signor Oronzino are ready to help in every way.
There was no one question or request that they would not help to solve. Thanks to them, we had no problems with car rental, transfers and so on.
Location of Masseria is very convenient if you have a car. Close to a couple of supermarkets. In 20 minutes there is a hypermarket. We drove to the beaches on the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea. The nearest beach is 30 minutes away. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to visit all the attractions that were planned.
So, I can strongly recommend the house to groups of tourists.

We stayed in Masseria in July 2014, 8 persons, three families. The house has been beatifully restored, with care for the details. Perfect place to stay for groups valuing privacy and tranquility. Thanks to very central location it is close to every place - both sightseeing attractions and beaches. Own car is however a must.The biggest surprise comes with quality of customer service. The hospitality and friendliness of the local manager and his colleagues goes far beyond standard expectations (will not tell anything more, just be surprised as we were :)Please note that there is no wifi internet available in the house . Might be an issue for foreigners.Don't miss Centro Storico of Campi, lovely place to go in the evening. We stayed in Masseria in July 2014, 8 persons, three families. The house has been beatifully restored, with care for the details. Perfect place to stay for groups valuing privacy and tranquility. Thanks to very central location it is close to every place - both sightseeing attractions and beaches. Own car is however a must.The biggest surprise comes with quality of customer service. The hospitality and friendliness of the local manager and his colleagues goes far beyond standard expectations (will not tell anything more, just be surprised as we were :)Please note that there is no wifi internet available in the house . Das Haus ist geräumig, luftig und liegt 20 Minuten entfernt vom Meer, in der Natur, wo man interessante Radtouren machen kann. Die Gastgeber sind sehr gastfreundlich und geben tolle Tipps darüber, was es zu sehen und zu tun in der Umgebung gibt. Die Gerichte und lokale Spezialitäten sind absolut hervorragend!
