Finca Craig is a large traditional Spanish farmhouse with a modern interior, located on the edge of the village of Rotova in the Valencia region of Spain. The house and private gardens enjoy great views over Rotova, the orange groves and the mountains beyond. The front door leads onto a characterful courtyard which borders the farmhouse's cassita, probably one of the oldest stone buildings in the area. The courtyard has a brick barbeque and the large dining table where you will enjoy your alfresco dining. You can also gate off the courtyard should you desire a secure area to keep young children away from the pool at any time. The courtyard opens onto the mature garden including orange, lemon, olive, pine and palm trees. The garden and all outside areas offer complete privacy. The private pool is now heated which allows it to be enjoyed all year round. Off street gated parking is available for four cars.
Downstairs the modern interior houses the lounge/diner, kitchen, utility room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Upstairs has a further three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is British satellite TV, Spanish TV and broadband with WiFi.
Our location offers you a taste of the real Spain without being isolated. You can easily have a fantastic holiday without leaving Rotova and the local bus can take you into Gandia where you can catch fast trains onto Valencia, Barcelona or Madrid. But a hire car undoubtedly opens up further options. There are so many magnificent beaches all down this stretch of coast from secluded to family orientated with bars and lots to do. You can also hire every type of watersport equipment. There are many coastal and mountain villages waiting to be explored and the amenities of Gandia are so close and just 30 minutes takes you to cosmopolitan Denia. Of course if you desire some madness then Benidorm is just a 45 minute drive away, and for clubbers, the ferries to Ibiza are available daily from Gandia or Denia.
Very few locals speak English but they are all very friendly and willing to help. And not yet being a mass tourism location has many advantages, not least the cheap prices in the bars and restaurants!

We have just returned from a fantastic two week holiday at Finca Craig.
The Finca was really spacious for our party of 7 (5 adults and 2 children). The pool is amazing to chill out in (and cool off in!). There are plenty of sunloungers, parasols and chairs around the pool so there is always a shady spot to relax in if needed. We loved eating meals at the huge table under the gazebo and made use of the barbecue. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything needed.
Our stay was during the heat wave and one day the temperature reached 45 degrees - we were so thankful for the air con in the upstairs bedrooms at night!
We didn't hire a car but as you can walk into the centre of Rotova in 5 -10 mins, that wasn't an issue for us. We were able to get everything we needed for our stay. There are 2 small supermarkets, a pharmacy, a bank, 2 bars/restaurants (and the social centre which serves drinks) and a wonderful bakery pretty much on the doorstep. You can also get drinks/pizzas at the sports centre and there is a pizza takaway in the town open weekend evenings. We walked to Alfauir one morning which also has a small supermarket and a couple of bars.
We were lucky that our stay coincided with the Moors & Christians fiesta on the first weekend in August which was a real special experience.
Colin and Karen were thoughtful and helpful hosts. They respected our privacy but were also available to help eg. when booking a taxi to Gandia beach or making a dinner reservation.

I been there with my family this last week, and we had a really good time. The manager is so friendly and helpful.
The house was so clean and equipped with everything, and a good basket of bread and wine for welcome us.

Great garden and pool, very well looked after. Pleasant and very helpful hosts who helped us with things like finding a pharmacy and booking a local restaurant.

We found the area had many places to visit, not only the long sandy beaches.

Maravillosa!!
Decidimos pasar unas vacaciones en familia, padres, tíos, primos..y no pudimos encontrar un lugar mejor. Colin es un anfitrión perfecto!! Muy atento, amable y simpático, está siempre que lo necesitas. El exterior de la casa es precioso, muchísimas plantas, árboles frutales, palmeras..y la piscina fantástica. Un cenador estupendo con una mesa enorme, para comer, cenar y disfrutar en familia. El interior de la casa muy bien, 5 habitaciones muy amplias, aire acondicionado, 3 baños, cocina amplia y no falta ni un detalle, sobre todo en menaje. Además Colin nos sorprendió con un detalle de bienvenida que es muy de agradecer, sobre todo cuando llegas cansado por el viaje, pan de pueblo, cookies, leche, vino...etc una maravilla de verdad. Repetiremos seguro. Hemos quedado encantados incluso con sus preciosos mininos que venían a visitarnos cada día 😍. Muchísimas gracias por todo Colin, han sido unos días estupendos en familia y nos hemos sentido como en casa.

Wonderful place for the whole family
We were eight people of all ages who visited for about a week in July, and we had a great time. A wonderful villa with a garden and pool that feels like a small refreshing oasis.
The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Easy to communicate with when we had questions (directions, tips etc) -- answered quickly, no problems whatsoever. We really appreciated the welcome basket with wine, cheese and bread.
Wifi-connection worked well, very easy to log on to. Every room had air condition and ceiling fans which really helped during the warm nights. The house is essentially fitted with everything you need, there is a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove and oven, washing machine, coffee maker, beach towels and more.
Having access to a car is essential, since Rotova is a smaller village with just a few small stores. If you want to go to the ocean or go grocery shopping you really need a car. The city of Gandia is about a 15 minute drive away, they have everything you need there, plus a fantastic beach.
We went to the beach twice, which was great, but just hanging by ourselves by the pool, in the wonderful garden was probably the best part of our trip. It's all very private, no disturbances, just a great place for the whole family.

The house and the garden are beautiful, we had a lovely time at Colins house :) We loved the pool, which is very clean and there is enough space for everyone to relax next to it. We drove to a beach about 25 min away from the house which was recommended to us due to lots of shops and restaurants nearby (we travelled with 5 kids). Everywhere we ate out, the food was super delicious. We highly recommend the restaurant L'Almassera which is a 5 min ride away. The food and service were exceptionell.
We enjoyed our stay very much! Colin lives next door and was always available if we had any questions.
(The only thing that caught us by surprise was the number of really aggressive mosquitos. We recommend to bring a strong repellent to the house and apply it regularly ;))

La casa es ideal para desconectar y pasar unos días de descanso. Se encuentra en un pueblo muy tranquilo pero muy cerca de las estupendas playas de Gandía. Los anfitriones son muy amables y discretos. Muy agradecidos por el maravilloso pack de bienvenida. La casa estaba limpísima y las habitaciones son amplias con una decoración muy agradable. La cocina dispone de todo lo necesario. Disfrutamos mucho de la piscina y el jardín que la rodea , muy bonito y bien cuidado, proporciona zonas de sombra. El wifi es rápido y funciona bien en la casa y en casi todo el exterior. Era lo que esperábamos y hemos disfrutado de unas buenas vacaciones . Muchas gracias, Karen y Colin.

Geweldige woning met alles erop en eraan.
We hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad in het heerlijke huis van Colin en Karen. Heerlijk koel huis en een prachtige tuin met geweldig zwembad. Colin heeft echt alles eraan gedaan om het voor ons een heerlijke vakantie te laten worden. We hopen zeker nog een keer terug te komen met de familie.

Toller Urlaub
Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub in Colins Ferienhaus. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Ein schönes Haus, eine tolle Außenanlage und der Pool war auch super. Colin war jederzeit offen für Fragen und hat uns wirklich weitergeholfen. Das ist nicht selbstverständlich.
Der Ort ist klein und überschaubar, keine Touristenhochburg. Der nächstgrößere Ort ist nicht weit weg und bietet gute Shoppingmöglichkeiten. Die Landschaft rund herum ist wirklich schön und die Strände in der Nähe auch genial.
Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.

Vacaciones perfectas
La finca ha cumplido con nuestras espectativas. Las habitaciones son amplias y las camas son cómodas. La planta baja de la casa es fresca y cuenta con una mesa en la que hemos podido comer 10 personas. La primera planta es un poco más calurosa, no obstante, todas la habitaciones de esa planta cuentan con ventiladores de techo y aire acondicionado.
El jardín es espectacular, cuenta con una pérgola y debajo de ésta hay una gran mesa, en la que hemos pasado muy buenos momentos. La piscina está muy bien y la ducha tipo cascada es todo un punto. También, cuenta con plantas y árboles como un mandarino, un limonero, a la sombra de los mismos hay sillones para relajarse y descansar. Hay muchas tumbonas para tomar el sol.
Desde la finca hemos podido ir a las playas de la zona, como Xeraco, Gandia norte, Daimuz, en todas hemos podido encontar aparcamiento sin problemas. Son 20 minutos para llegar a cualquiera de estas playas y con ayuda del navegador se llega sin problemas.
La limpieza de la casa estaba muy bien, sin ninguna pega.
Colin y Karen los dueños de la casa se pusieron a nuestra disposicion para ayudarnos en cualquier cosa. Todas las mañanas limpiaban la piscina pero respetando nuestra intimidad.
Conclusión repetiremos.

Voor wie van het massa toerisme wil weg blijven is deze locatie geweldig.
Authentiek spaans huis van alle gemakken voorzien.

Casa Craig
Great base to explore from. Markets, boat trips, train ride to Valencia with cycling down to the stunning Arts & Sciences Centre. History, shopping & tapas in Gandia enjoyed by all. Property has everything you need including lots of space for all to relax. Pool is refreshing at the end of a busy or lazy day. Hosts were discretely available & responsive whenever needed. A superb holiday!

Brilliant Holiday
We've just returned from a great holiday at Finca Craig. Colin and Karen gave us a lovely welcome and were always on hand but never intrusive. The Finca was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. A real home from home and for 11 of us (3 generations) there was plenty of space. We spent a lot of time in the pool and pool area where there were plenty of sunbeds for all the family. We made good use of the BBQ and ate outside for all meals. It is just a short walk into Rotova where we bought lovely fresh bread and delicious cakes. The Bio Parc Zoo in Valencia is well worth a visit. Diamus beach is only a 15 minute drive away and is lovely,ideal for children. Thankyou Colin and Karen for a very enjoyable first family holiday abroad.

Great place - the real Spain!!!!!
Excellent communication. The owners live next door so are there if needed (we didn't) but never encroach on your holiday. The owners are great and very accommodating, they even supplied a second cot for our group.
Nice spot above Rotova with a view of the countryside. The area is super quiet, nice little village with bread & beer places, what more do you need??? No English spoken but that's what we wanted, the locals loved our efforts. It's a stroll downhill to the village (10 mins) slightly longer back up!!
The property is great, the bedrooms are spread over the two floors. Our party consisted of two families so this made for a natural split. Fans in the rooms help with the summer heat too.
There is enough equipment in the kitchen and around the pool, stacks of sunbeds and chill out areas. We spent every meal outdoors and didn't use the lounge.
Further a field the beach at Gandia is amazing with miles of golden sand, bars and restaurants as well as parking. Minimal shade on the beach though.
All in all a great place to experience Spain away from the crowds.

Fabulous villa in beautiful location
We loved our stay here and Colin and Karen were so helpful from the day I booked to when we left. The house itself is really beautiful and well equipped. The pool and garden is stunning. We didn’t want to leave any day to do anything other than relax at the pool. Our teenagers and youngest kids loved it and would happily return ! We went to Gandia some evenings and it’s lovely - a stunning beach ! We would
recommend this property and love to return again !

Family Holiday (Late May/ early June 2019)
We rented this property for a week to enjoy a family holiday with 9 of us.
The owners Colin & Karen were very helpful from the start with a welcome pack and a full tour of the amenities as well as a full run down on the local towns, restaurants etc.
The house was perfect for our numbers (9) and we enjoyed several BBQ's as well as several of the local restaurants.
The beds were comfortable and the whole stay was perfect.
We would highly recommend this location & property to others who would like to see more of real Spain.

Lovely villa and plenty places of interest to visit
We are three generations of a family and the villa was more than adequate for us, all 11 of us. The pool was great, everyone enjoyed it especially the grandchildren. Colin and Karen made us feel more than welcome. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this lovely place

Great property and layout of pool and areas to relax for large group
We stayed as a group of two families for one week (7 in total). The house, pool and outside area were all perfect for relaxing either in or out of the sun. The area is great with plenty of beaches within a short drive or heading west into some lovely old towns. The house itself has everything you need and the owners are very helpful. The outside area is extremely well laid out for a very relaxing time

A beautifully presented, very well equipped, character property
We couldn't have enjoyed it more! It was ideal for a three-generation celebration get-together. We all loved the pool, the charming garden, lemons from the trees, BBQ, comfortable beds, some air-conditioning when needed, pool toys, games, books - Colin and Karen have thought of everything and were very welcoming and helpful.

Great property for a family holiday
We were a family group- grandparents, parents and children and we all had a wonderful time at Finca Craig. Plenty of space, washing machine, dishwasher,etc. We enjoyed several barbecues sitting outside in the evening sun.
The weather was really hot so we LOVED the pool. At several points we were all in it cooling off before choosing which seat we wanted round the pool. The beautiful Mediterranean gardens around the pool are lovely. Oranges, lemons and limes on the trees around the pool.Karen's handiwork I think!
The village is quite special. Very quiet but with several little shops including a bakers which bakes using a wood fired oven which also sells take away foods. Local fruit and veg is available. We even had fresh peaches given us by a local farmer.
Colin and Keven were really helpful with our booking, offering advise on car hire, best routes, etc.

Beautiful,clean,large finca with helpful owners!!
We've been back from finca Craig for a week now and miss it already! It is a large,clean and we'll presented farmhouse set in a lovely little village. The pool was the perfect size and there was all the facilities we needed, dishwasher, washing machine etc. We stayed for a week enjoying trips out to Benidorm and Gandia, in between relaxing around the large outdoor area at the finca. The owners were incredibly helpful in both booking our trip and in the information at the finca.....much appreciated Colin and Karen,thank you! Bob the pool man was also friendly and helpful......We can't wait to return next year with more family!!

Fabulous Farmhouse, pool and views
Just got back from am amazing stay at Finca Craig. Wonderful accommodation and service from Colin and Bob. It felt like home and we loved every second. Lots of amazing places to visit with our favourite being Denia, Javea and Aqualandia. We have made fabulous memories and wish we were back there making some more!

Beautiful Farmhouse with fantastic outdoor area.
We have just returned from this fantastic farmhouse and we (7 adults) had a fabulous holiday. The accommodation is very large, clean and well equipped.
The outside area is fantastic, we ate outdoors all the time and used the bar-b que.
The pool and surroundings really made the holiday, you will not be disappointed!
The local village is very Spanish and everyone was friendly, especially in the local bar, where the food was superb. A car meant we could travel to more remote villages and to the coast. We had a day sea kayaking from Denia which was fantastic. Valencia was a wonderful city to visit.
Bob was very helpful and gave us some good tips. All in all we would highly recommend Finca Craig and would love to return one day ourselves.

A charming oasis in lovely Spanish town
First things first - the pictures in the advert don't do this lovely property the justice it deserves. The garden area (where we spent the majority of the time) is just a beautifully arranged and well kept oasis. Fig tress, lemon, orange, lime, etc ... with a sprinkling of cacti all add to the exotic and relaxed feel to the place.
From start to finish this was a perfect transaction. Colin was very prompt and helpful with all communications, instructions were clear and precise, payment was simple, and once there Bob was very obliging and gave great advice.
We had five adults and 6 kids for the majority of our two week stay, and there was plenty of room. The house is a good size, well apportioned and very comfortable. It has bathrooms, although due to the water pressure and boiler only one hot shower works at any one time. This wasn't an issue for us as we were all having cold showers due to the heat!
The village is nice and close and was an enjoyable stroll every morning for our fresh croissants and ensaimadas. It has a couple of well stacked mini-markets, bars, butcher, veg shop and two bakeries.
As mentioned by others, a car is advisable for getting to other towns and doing larger shopping - Gandia, Oliva, Denia etc. There is plenty of parking space. We had 3 cars easily fitting.
TV and DVD player were great, and WiFi (which was fast) was a godsend for the younger generation when things got a bit hot outside.
All in all I couldn't fault the holiday, and it was a pleasure staying at Finca Craig.

Finca Craig
We stayed in this finca for a week in August of this year. There were 7 adults and two young children and the accommodation could not have suited us better. The house is spacious with 5 large double bedrooms on two floors, 3 separate bathrooms, a large lounge and dining area and good kitchen. All the facilities were very good - great TV and media system for the children when it got too hot outside and the dishwasher and washing machine were really handy and efficient.
The best part of this finca, however, was the outside space. Lovely gardens and fruit trees around the poolside with lots of different areas for those who want to sunbathe and those who want more shade. The pool itself was great for the children and a lockable gate kept them away from it when needed. The barbecue and outside dining area were also excellent and we happily spent most of our evenings there.
The local village is easily in walking distance and there are little shops, bars and restaurants nearby. You would need a car as the finca is some way from either airport and the larger towns such as Oliva and Gandia, where the supermarkets are, are about 15-20 minutes drive away.
Bob, the contact in Spain, was really helpful and gave us great advice about places of interest to visit. The finca is a great central base for a range of different excursions - caves, beaches, mountain trails, city excursions etc.
Overall, I thoroughly recommend Finca Craig. The property was much larger and better equipped than I expected. It was clean and very well-maintained. The owners and contact definitely provided a friendly, courteous and efficient service and I would definitely book this property again

Very nice Finca
The finca CRAIG is a very nice renovated old Spanish house. We have spent a wonderful week with our three young children. The garden and the swimming pool are excellent to relax. The house is fully equipped. You can find bakery, butcher or small supermarket within 5 minutes walk in the village.
